[Resolved]  TATA-AIG General Insurance — Ad Hoc issuance of car insurance and IDV value

I recently opted for TATA-AIG car insurance for my Verna Car Xi Petrol model bought in December 2006. The TATA-AIG agent (S.S. Associates) sold me the TATA-AIG insurance for 10, 500 premium for an IDV value of 5, 50, 000. He said that you can increase the IDV value than previous year's IDV (which was 5, 13, 000) at a higher premium value and there is no problem.

When I received the policy, the IDV value was 3, 86, 000 and the cheque for the premium amount was encashed. This was a shocker since as against the proposal of 5, 50, 000 IDV company gave only 3, 86, 000 that too at the same premium amount and without any communication. I immediately notified the agent (S.S. Associates, Hyderabad) and TATA AIG, Begumpet, Hyderabad. There was no response from both parties. TATA-AIG till date (after more than a month) keeps saying request has been forwarded to head-office and agent is not picking the phone.

The customer care support has been sent a dozen emails till now with no response.
Several emails along with proof of proposal form to [protected]@TATA-AIG.com were sent. Always the reply came saying that request has been forwarded to the concerned department. In spite of asking what is taking so long, what is TATA-AIG's stand on it and what are they doing, there has been no answer. The local office says that head-office Mumbai can only take the matter and they cannot do anything. Head-office in Mumbai does not reply even after so many days.

It is sure that TATA-AIG has not followed correct procedures in getting the IDV value and also the premium amount. The agent sold some bogus proposal to me and TATA-AIG has not taken any action on the agent and their internal department process. In spite of complaints from my side, TATA-AIG has chosen to keep quiet and let the matter die.

For me, I have a depreciated IDV for my car. I don't have anybody in TATA-AIG who is willing to listen and act. A letter to the MD of TATA-AIG also has been sent but still no action has been taken at all.

Please help in this regard and publish in your forum to let others know to be careful of TATA-AIG insurance and its pathetic services.

Dear Sir!


Please cancel my policy BTM[protected] with immediate effect. Premium for this policy is being deducted from my HSBC credit card. Though this policy was valid till dec 2008 but still the premium is being dedcuted.

Request again to cancel this policy with immed. effect.

January'09 i bought new innovaG4-8s. I opted car insurance from TATA AIG which offered me holiday package for an year validation. But after receiving the policy document a week later the holiday package was valid only for 6months. After that the customer representive's cell number found to be switched off till today.

Please regard and publish this matter in your forum to let others know to be careful of TATA-AIG insurance and its pathetic services
I have also faced the same problem. I took my policy during January 2009. They promised me at higher IDV whereas wheen I received the policy the IDV value is lesser value. When I contacted so many times the S.S.Associates, Hyderabad . No response. Further my previous policy with other insurance company was hire purchase with PNB bank, but these people have not made the hire purchase endorsement. I am requesting since then but no response. I request the authorites to send an amendment to the policy immediately. My policy no. [protected] 00 date 10/01/2009.

The services of Tata AIG very bad and I reccomend not to opt this insurance.

TATA-AIG General Insurance — Mis Information on Product selling

I have bought Health policy for my parents from tata-aig. policy number SHC[protected],SHC[protected], ITIG[protected] ,ITIG[protected] respectively.But when i called for claim the they said this facility is not covered in this policy.Then i filled a complant againt this with there call center through a complant no 7217022.on which they revert back and said the information given by the sales executive was fales and we appolise for this.
but i said them to refund my money, because i have bought this policy only due to that benefit(Fales statement).
Now they are not replying on this.
Tata's service in general is poor. Their cars is as bad as their cars.

I am posting reviews of my experience with them all over. We should stand together and get them off the the market.

People are loosing hard earned cash for bad cars and poor service deleveries.
