Complaint Under Section 12 of the Consumer Protection Act.

Sir,
The complainant submits as under:-


1. That the complainant is the consumer of respondent.

2. That the complainant is a consumer of Airtel India prepaid mobile No.[protected] which is valid till 31 Dec. 2037 (sim#[protected]F)

3. That Airtel India has cheated complainant by deactivating Daily pack of GPRS without being requested and daily pack which was of Rs.25 for 24 hrs (6 to 6) which was activated on 9:47:03 AM (have confirmation message on that time) dated 7 June, 2009 and deactivated on 1:24:01 PM dated 7 June, 2009.

4. That Complainant immediately called customercare of Airtel India Mobile Company from his number just after the message of deactivation, the Customer care Mr.Chamman give me a complaint number 297343 and told that Complainant have not send any message for deactivation between; activation and deactivation time i.e. 9:47:03 AM to 1:24:01 PM dated 7 June, 2009. and asked to wait for 24 hrs.
5. Then on 8 June, 2009, on about 11 PM I again call for the back-up of my complaint but nothing was supported and customer care again asked me to wait for 24 hrs.

6. That then on very next day i.e. on[protected] at 6:25 PM, after 24 hrs, complainant again call in the evening to customercare Airtel Mobile Company for the same complaint for back-up of his complaint but complainant was surprised to hear from customer care (Mr. Bharat Singh) that complainant s sent message on 12:15 or on 12:30 PM for deactivation. Also Mr. Bharat Singh customer are told that complainant has sent UMO (unsubscribe Mobile office) message on 7:15 AM. Then complainant asked Customer care that his mobile GPRS was activated on 9:47 AM and how it can be deactivated on 7:15 AM then he has no answer for that but he said neither the money can be reversed nor service can be extended and customer care said that he can not do anything.


7. That this is not the first time Airtel Mobile Company has cheated the complainant. In Month of March, 2009; complainant has activated GPRS one day plan on 12:15 PM but the service was short lived and automatically deactivated after 30-40 min. and despite complaint to customer care no action or reversal of money was done neither service was extended.


8. That due to above reasons, complainant decided to launch complaint in the Hon’ble Redressal Forum against the Airtel India Mobile Company for cheating, deficiency of service, breaching the trust of customer i.e. complainant and causing mental pain and agony apart from harassment and wastage of time.
9. That the respondents have adopted unfair trade practices. The complainant suffered mental pain and agony besides harassment and time wastage due to respondent’s unfair trade practices and deficiency in service.
10. That the complainant comes under the definition of the Consumer Protection Act as his mobile number [protected] is a prepaid connection and is valid till 31st Dec. 2037.


11. That the Hon’ble Forum has got the jurisdiction to entertain and try the present complaint as the complainant is resident of Ludhiana and the respondents are giving services in Ludhiana.

It is, therefore, prayed that the respondents may kindly be directed to pay the complainant:-

i) Rs.25/- that was charged for MOD (Mobile Office Daily) and because service was interrupted and short lived for about 3 hrs instead of 24 hrs.

ii) Rs.1, 00, 000/- for the negligence, preplanned and systematic cheating done to the complainant and due to this complainant has suffered harassment, mental tension, agony, and wastage of time. Moreover Airtel India Mobile Company is earning millions of rupees from that kind of systematic cheating and fraud so should be punished with heavy fine to stop their malpractice.

iii) Cost of the complaint.

Any other relief which this Hon’ble Forum may deem fit and proper under the facts and circumstances as explained in the complaint may kindly be granted. The Airtel India Mobile Company should be punished to stop their malpractice and unfair trade practice to many of other consumers who did not complain due to shortage of time or lack of knowledge.

Airtel Mobile — Deficiancy in service

whenever I have an issue I used to call the helpline number i.e. 121 but Not a single customer care executive answers the same. Secondly, the network service ( range) is very poor. the billing is very unrealistic and whenever I choose to change my plan the company demands money from me.

the billing issue is most controversial. whenever I tried to talk to the airtel people sitting in the airtel outlets I got misleading answers.

3. That Airtel India has cheated every day for a long time without any information simply deduct the amount and send the sms that last sms cost is Rs. 1. For your kind information i have not given any request for any sevicess, Air Tel cheated daily wiyhout any hasitation.

3. That Complainant immediately called customercare of Airtel India Mobile Company from his number just after the message no body can response frome air tel so many sms i send 123, 121 and 54321 lke that but no any response with 72 hrs.

4.) i)Rs.100000/- for the negligence, preplanned and systematic cheating done to the complainant and due to this complainant has suffered harassment, mental tension, agony, and wastage of time. Moreover Airtel India Mobile Company is earning millions of rupees from that kind of systematic cheating and fraud so should be punished with heavy fine to stop their malpractice.

ii) Cost of the complaint.

Any other relief which this Hon’ble Forum may deem fit and proper under the facts and circumstances as explained in the complaint may kindly be granted. Airtel Mobile Service — Deficiency in service

I obtained a recharge of Rs. 27/- to avail of ISD call charges @ Rs. 1.99 P on 11/2/10 vide Tr ID No.[protected]. This service has not ben activated till now (16/2/10) 12-- pm. During this period I had to talk to my son in Canada. For this I have been charged on regular charges basis. I complained to their help line No. (Tr ID no. [protected]). I was assured that the facility will be activated within 48 hrs and if I have to use ISD, the Company will give me adjustment of the amount excess charged (difference between standard charges & concessional charges of Rs. 1.99 per minute. This has not been done. I again spoke to Customer helpline this morning and I was assured that I will positively hear frm them by 1-30 pm). Kindly help me and get the credit of the amt charged in excess. Thanks G L Nagpaul

      Dear Sir/Madam
      This is Dinesh - Escalation Manager and Case Specialist For Dell International, India ...this complaint regards to the improper service i got from Airtel tech team and still the prob is not resolved and now im help less..
      i have 3 Corporate postpaid lines with airtel and one prepaid for my family ...All chennai Lines [protected], [protected], [protected] are the post paids and [protected] is the prepaid one ... now im in a very important occation for my lifetime where my marriage engagement is happening in a Andrapradesh and problem happened in this situation where im not able to make any single landline calls in Andrapradesh since last 3 days.Initially i thought i could be of network congession, but later after many hours of waiting, approached Airtel Cus service, where the cus service nos 121-Any time service helpline is not accepting the option 1 for english where im not able to get any assistance or register complaint with airtel about the prob im facing ...hence i called [protected] Tamilnadu Aitel helpline for assistance, call landed in perpaid dept and they are helpless ...but they gave the [protected] helpline and im able to reach cus service dept where i spoke with MALLIKA the first rep who helped in understanding the situation ...
      First contact for help after several hours of waiting happened 19th june 2009 Morning arround 10.17am ..and after that called chennai cus service for help again where no help received.
      got a call from [protected] Tech dept VIJAYAWADA they said they are gonna do some changes, did trace of the call where the call getting terminated but still not submitted any feedback to the cus service and never informed of the status to me either, , , this is the second day and when i try to reach the tech dept they are not at all of the cus situation where MY WHOLE FAMILY IS HELPLESS NOT ABLE TO CONTACT THE PARTICULAR PERSON IN A.P SINCE THEY HAVE ONLY LANDLINE. THE SITUATION SCREWED AND FULL OF MENTAL TORTURE IN A VERY HAPPY OCAATION BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF TECH ASSISTACE .THIS IS THE 3RD DAY AND PROB STILL NOT RESOLVED .

      I HAVE RECORDED SERIES OF CONVERSTATIONS WITH AIRTEL INFORMING THE CONCERED SERIVCE DEPT..MY LAST CONVERSATION WITH GOPI -REP, CUS SERVICE AND THATS HELPLESS...CALLED BACK AGAIN LAST NIGHT AFTER LONG HOLD IN THYAGU A REP IN CHENNAI, ARROUND 9.10 PM 19TH JUNE 09 CALL WAS ESCALATED AND SPOKE WITH A SUPERVISOR SARANYA AND INFORMED ABOUT THE SITUATION AND SHE ASKED FOR 24HRS TIME TO RESOLVED WHERE THIS MORNING RECEIVED A CALL THAT CUS SERVICE IS WAITING FOR THE FEEDBACK FROM THE TECH DEPT STILL AGAIN EXCUSE ...

      MEANWHILE AS THEY ARE WORKING ON MY MOBILE ACCOUNT, I NEED TO CONTACT THE PARTICULAR PEOPLE IN A.P, , HENCE I BOUGHT AN OTHER MOBILE OF A DIFF SERVICE PROVIDER JUST TO CONTACT THE PEOPLE AS ALL MY AIRTEL LINE WERE NOT WORKING, NO OUT GOING FOR ANY LANDLINES IN ANDRA PRADESH...STILL THE ISSUE IS NOT RESOLVED...

      YESTERDAY the 19th eve i got info from VIJAYAWADA tech team in [protected] Srinivas a rep, that there is not tech team working after 6.30pm and next assistance will be on monday ..so my prob will not be resolved for an two days and i have to be in road looking for other's phone beside having 4 airtel connections sitting idle only to talk with cus care regarding prob...besides they disconnected my call several times ...
      Totally, my prob is not resolved so far and still in middle of road looking for local phones and recharge centres for the new mobile i bought spending RS-6000 for the mobile alone ...beside having 4 airtel connections sitting idle and waiting for the prob to be resolved ... all my conversations with the cus service are of chargeable since in roaming...
      im gonna file in the Consumer court for the lack of service provided for customers and the frustration of my family members... REQUESTING HELP

      These kind of complaints are quite common place with Airtel. Their outsource partner HTMT has some issues with the attitude of associates dealing with customers. The people manning Airtel's customer care have a bureaucratic attitude that they're superior in knowledge of their service and products than the callers, while they forget the fact that when everyone gets the same level of knowledge about their products and services they would not have the job. The prime reason for employing them is to talk to the customers and convince them to be proud of being associated with Airtel in spite of hiccups in services. But the people with imperious attitude on getting a job treat customers with scant respect and ruin the scope of happily doing business with Airtel.

      Bharti needs to fix this issue at the earliest or they would face serious escalations to their corporate offices, as I did with their company secretary and director for unreasonably disconnecting my father's phone connection. In my case my father lost his mobile and we asked them to disable the SIM until we get a new one. After we got a new SIM and a new mobile my father was using the mobile without any issues for three month. After that the connection was disconnected. The reason given was our request to disable SIM some three months ago. When asked why the request given 3 months ago was acted upon after 3 months, they simply told me to put up another request to reactivate the SIM and they would get it back in order in 7 working days. Who requested the disconnection now, was not answered. It is done. To get it back wait for 7 days, that is the procedure. I wrote to the nodal officer, which was of no use. Finally I got a mail id of the company secretary and director of Bharti and wrote to him. Then I was flooded with calls from Airtel Chennai, Customer service manager, Senior manager, Chief manager, Nodal officer and on and on. The connection was back within minutes. So, for a simple mistake of theirs, I had to move the Director of the company. Their customer service rings in a world of coy not joy.

        As of two months ago, the name on my account has been changed by Airtel to Manjunatha, ND. My name is Suresh Doraiswamy. How can an account name be changed unless somebody has cracked into their accounting system and changed the name? My whole identity in Airtel records are changed to "Manjunatha ND". If Airtel's accounting practises and Accounting System is so vulnerable then tomorrow anybody can crack into any Airtel account and make unauthorized charges. I have complained about this problem 3 times to Airtel and nothing has been done. TRAI does not accept complaints since they are on the side of AIRTEL against consumers. I have complained about Airtel's POOR Quality of SERVICE (QOS) several times during the past one year, all complaints fall on deaf ears.

        I feel that I am being forced out of Airtel network to go to another service provider. Who is responsible for invesigating this? Not TRAI, Not AIRTEL, then who??

        Airtel had accepted their mistake and made the necessary adjustments. The problem is resolved. usually such problems occur because of bugs in the back office software.

          Hello,

          Around couple of weeks back, i have applied for an tel broadband connection. Immediately an agent come to my house and collect the registration fees.

          They told that within 2 days you'll get the new connection. But no one contacted me for an week.

          Later when I tried to reach that agent ( Rajan [protected]) but he didnt pick my calls. Later I called out the customer cell and logged a compliant and I had been told that my compliant will get resolved within 2 days.

          Again NO response from them.

          Later when I tried to reach them, they told that your area distribution box gets filled out and we are not able to provide any connection to you :(

          Regd the money repayment they told that it will take 45 days to refund the amount. Still I really dono why ???

          The way they treat me in the customer call is the worst. I have asked the reason why it take 45 days ?
          Simply he disconnected the call.

          this thing happened twice ...totally disappointed with Airtel's response. Really worst I would say.

            My Name is Narendra Rajwanshi, I had Purchased Two Data Cards for my relatives on 27-Jan-2009 from Airtel shop (Vile parle E), receipts attached herewith. These were mainly bought to work from home and not for just home email and surfing purposes.
            As per the plan(Plan 350) the Data services are for unlimited hours and 500MB download. This was clearly asked and clarified with Mr Rishi – There is no restriction on timing and data download in 500Mb was clarified by Mr Rishi.

            These got activated in a day or two and were working fine till 5th Feb 2009. From 5th it developed problems and there was no connectivity available, and the work from home was severely suffering. A Complaint was made to customer care but no action was taken for 3~4 days. Initially Customer care said that there was a port failure at your end but finally they accepted there was some authentication problem at their end. CCare said that they would send some one at place but no one turned up.

            Finally we went back to the gallery and explained the problem to Mr. Rishi, and he said to contact customer care only and again trying the same there was no solution to the problem. We came back again to the Airtel Shop (Vile Parle E) and they changed the SIM on 9th Feb, saying there might be some problem with the SIM. (Receipt for this new SIM – given FOC is attached alongwith.)

            Even after replacing the SIM, the problem still remained, and finally we went back to return the Datacards and ask for a full refund (Rs. 7200 for both datacards). After a lot of argument (Mr Rishi) agreed to give the full refund next morning. Already 10~15 days had passed without any solution to the problem and we could not stop our Work, Hence we purchased new Tata – Indicom datacards which worked really well and continuing with the same till today.

            Mr Rishi meanwhile called up (Mr Vishesh) who claims to be Data solutions Head for Mumbai region. He sent some of the guys to inspect saying we cannot simply refund without inspecting the full problem. After a day or two he called up and said the services are resumed and kindly check, but we were clearly demanding our refund, which now Mr Rishi and Mr Vishesh made a U-turn and said cannot be given as it is not in the Company policy.

            We simply stopped following and continued with Tata Indicom datacards. To the Surprise and SHOCK, the Airtel gallery (Vile parle E) also uses Tata-Indicom datacard.

            After couple of weeks a bill was delivered with a shocking Amount of Rs 2657 for one card and Rs 613 for other. The Data transferred for the first card is only 486MB and 226Mb for the other. Not a single data card has crossed the limit of 500Mb and we had used only for a week or two.

            We went back to the gallery (Vile parle E) and asked for the clarification of the same. Mr Rishi was unable to clarify the same, He consulted Mr Vishesh and he kept on saying “jitna use kiya hai utna bill ayega”. I Immediately asked to disconnect the services, for the same Mr Rishi replied you will have to pay the bill first and then only disconnection request will be taken, I replied I will not pay a single Paise.

            Post the same I enquired about the Billing details from CustomerCare and they explained some Complex logic of how it is done. Every session on internet is of 2Mb, which is charged like Rs15 and for every new session even if download is not full 2Mb it will be charged Rs.15 and deducted from the 500Mb quota. Like this the First 500Mb is free and post that every session is charged Rs.15. This is Ridiculous and I have not seen any data services like this to happen. And More importantly this is not communicated by anyone in Airtel gallery nor it is present on the Airtel site. This is absolute Fraud.

            Now I have been getting calls to pay the bills and also a letter from Airtel that if bill is not paid a legal notice will be sent.

            I demand immediate Refund of my Datacards and immediate stop on the calls and the letters. Else I will approach the Consumer Court and take necessary action on Airtel.

            wrong bill — card without using bill

            i have inform you that my card no is [protected] statr is 17 may im no use this card but without my notice compney provied me icici lomard inc..im not interseted incurance.im coplain 17 may in customer care byt there no result.customer care no is [protected].so please shot out the problem as soon posible .today i have talk roopa in customer care she told me your complain is under prossising .sir told me last 7 month no result.why i m do now. thanks you.

            Airtel-Data Card — Failure of services

            I bought a data card from Airtel under 999 Plan in January and my problems started from the first month itself. First the Airtel executives entered wrong data in their database and disconnected my data card on wrongful verification. Once this problem was solved, the data card would not open the e mail sites for e.g. yahoomail, rediffmail etc. After around 3 complaints to Customer care and the technical department also there have been no improvement in their performance. The Airtel executives make a fool of the Customers by giving various excuses, rather than solving the problem. The best part is that they ensure that you are charged for every month whether the services are provided or not. It is clear that they have failed to provide services as required and hence they reimbrse our initial amount or provide us with a better functioning data card as replacement.

              Hello Sir/Madam,

              Here I am putting my complain regarding worst network coverage at my locality Kavalbyrasandra, RT nagar, Bangalore. Since morning antena level fluctuates from zero to max.Call dies suddenly and after that if your caller tries to dial he find unreachable while your handset shows zero antenaa level.

              I spoke to customer care around 1.30 mid day after coming out from my locality. There was no satisfactory response.Even they were not aware of this problem as no body had complained so far.

              I just want to know if such situation arise where to put information so that these big giant operator can be punish by law to provide poor service to their customer.

              hi, I want to know for instalation airtel internet conection, should we pay the deposit at first? befor any work?
              becuase yesterday I wanted this service and called to Mr. Chethan (I think he is your coworker).
              he said : you have to pay Rs 3500 as deposit and installation charge at first and after 5 or 7 days we can connect your internet line. I could not pay this money (RS 3500) without any service. And I could not believe him becuase I did not know him and his office.After that he got angry and threw out the agreement and went.
              here I want to know this is correcte behavier for one Airtel officer???

                  1. My mobile # [protected] was disconnected by Airtel without any prior notice when I was on my travel trip out of India. On asking they said ' as per TRAI regulations if a postpaid number has zero usage for 15 days it should be disconnected' an executive @ 121 named Vinod. On asking the process of reactivation after I was back on June 8th 2009 he told me to submit a photo, Id & address proof and sign a new activation form while clearing the all past dues. As per his direction I comepleted all the formalities on JUne 10th 2009.
                  2. Till date i.e. Jun 19th 2009 my number is still inactive and my sim card gives an error message ' sim card registration failed'.
                  3. On visiting their Splendid tower office on Sunday, the security guard outside the premises replied ' now Airtel has changed the policy and they do not work 24/7. Our office works from 9am - 9pm and is closed on Sundays'.
                  4. On sending first email on [protected]@sirtelindia.com dated Jun 13th 2009 reporting about the entire problem an auto acknowledgement email was recevied giving me an complaint #[protected] with a commitment to resolve the issue within 24 hrs.
                  5. When the issue was not resolved until 17th Jun I sent another email which replied the same way with complaint #[protected], still an unresolved complaint.
                  6. People responsible in the matter who did not bothered to patch the flaw in their customer service are mentioned below

                  VERDEX communications - ARC @ city college - they take documents and request and never act on it netiher they provide acknowledgement for the receipt. On asking they say they have their own way of working

                  Vinod - executive @ 121 helpdesk - made false commitment to activate the connection within 48 hrs when spoken to him on Jun 10th 2009.

                  Kirti - Executive from escalation departmen - never answer to the concerned query. My understanding is she is incapable of giving pin pointed answer and very unprofessional attitude.

                  Madhusudan - Team manager of escalation deptt. - he is always in chat with his team members but a guy just like his tema member Kirti who never give feedback to cconcerns raised.

                  I am equally disappointed with airtel services. My mobile number is [protected] and I am using services from last three years. I avtivate and deactivated the GPRS only on one or two weekends in august 2009. Now I come to know that it was never disconnected. this is happening from two and half months and full charges are levied in my bill. THis is really sad and makes me feel fooled and looted. I talked to rep and they say they can waiver only one month charge and not for the full period. I am planning to switch to some other subscriber.

                    I had left the organization due to reasons statighn that i have been rated as L4.(Leadership Assessment)
                    I have a concern on the same which i did not get any clarification or documentation of my appraisal.
                    I was told to leave the organization which i did and still not clear of the reasons.
                    My F&F has been done but my bonus sems to be not being worked out. Would i be receiving my bonus for the financial year[protected] cause i left Airtel on April 10th - 2009.

                      M Mahesh of M square technologies on behalf of Aitel arrives at my door step on 15 June at 11:00 pm at night. He intrudes at 11:00 pm even after noticing all the lights being switched off and rings the door bell incessantly until I open. The reason for disturbing me so late is to have access to the Airtel broad band connection box installed at my house to extend a connection to one of my neighbors.
                      He is elast apologetic whne I ask him if this were such an emergency that he has to disturb me at 11:00 pm at night.
                      I call 121, the Aitel call centre at 11:00 pm to complain and I navigate their IVR for 3 mnts am on hold for another 15 mnts and no one takes my call. I tried again in vain and could not get through to a representative to register a complaint. I tried calling 121 again at 8:30 am the next day and thankfully reach a customer service representative after navigating their IVR for about 8 mnts, she places me on hold for the next 15 mnts after I asked her to speak to her manager.
                      Such service levels are unacceptable .

                          1. On receipt of message from the airtel company, on[protected] I recharged my mobile with Rs.135/-for local pack valid for 6 months (i.e. airtel to airtel
                          0/50 p. & airtel to other mobile 0/60 p. per minute)

                          2. On receipt of message from the company, on
                          [protected] I recharged my mobile with Rs.36/- for STD pack valid for 100 days (i.e. STD for Re.1/- per minute)

                          On[protected] in the evening I make some local mobile calls, wherein I was charged with Re.1/- per minute instead of 0/50 or 0/60 p. per minute. Thereafter, I contacted customer care about this problem. They stated that you can avail one facility at a time. Where in message from the company for Local pack/STD pack, this clause was not mentioned. I therefore request that both the facility be provided to me.

                            Hi All,
                            I had a bitter experience with Airtel. Airtel took 2 months to act on my cancellation request and in the meantime abused the ECS facility and deducted the bill amount from my credit card for 2 months. Finally, I blocked my credit card. My repeated requests to their Customer Service desks fell on deaf ears. Their zonal officer cannot be reached on the number provided in their website.HDFC bank told that they cannot cancel the ECS as it was directly between me and Airtel. Airtel Customer Service centres were not ready to accept the cancellation request for ECS and informed that it is a tedious procedure. Pls. let me know on the possible course of action that i can take.

                                Airtel is providing postpaid connection for corporates.On April 2nd week One guy who had Air tel tags of this mobile number [protected] came to office on my request with aiirtel and he collected 3 photos, pan card, passport copy, After that he told my existing number will get changed to postpaid onlyt after verification.he has given a kit i thatr he told by may 4th things will be ok and he took 300 rupeees from me.
                                2 months over no result..how can i believe this asirtel guys?
                                I am very sorry to written all these but after having so much difficulties i want to lodge a complaint against my post paid connection.                                       It has got more than Rs 500 balance when I was gone abroad in march 2009 and I didn't use it for about 2 months and after coming back in june 2009 when I used it ... it says unregistered sim. I spoke to airtel customer service they said go to airtel showroom. When I went to airtel showroom they said this no. was not in use thats why it has been recycled.

                                      I said why didn't you send me any notification about this and moreover it has got balance in it, how you can recycle it and they simply said we can't do anything about it. I said I will pay your fees to reactivate it becuase this no. is very important to me. but they said in a very rude manner we have told you that this no. is now for resale.

                                      i am having airtel prepaid no. [protected]. i kept for frequent use of this no. previously it is postpaid no i converted in to prepaid and with 999 voucher made lifetime prepaid.

                                      but in last month i try to use this no. its show sim registration failed . i enquired about this to helpline they told this no is cancelled and then removed from our prepaid database and given to fresh selling. now you wont get this no. reason is "non usage of 90 days".

                                      but my question is why the did not tell about this. because they have my residence no all my contact details. and without confirming with me how they can cancelled this no and then given to fresh selling.

                                      i mailed to nodal office they also answering same that you wont get this no becuase of removal from database.

                                      Lots of Airtel prepaid customers are facing the problem of getting “Value Added Service from 290603” subscribed without their consent. Once a user receives a message “thought of the day” from 290603 there is deduction of Rs.3/- per SMS. Every day each user gets 4 SMS. Worst part is such SMS are delivered during mid night 2:00AM, 4:00AM (proof can be provided on request).
                                      It is a real hard work to get rid of this problem by contacting Airtel customer care. Apart from this it is harder to get refund back.
                                      Many called this as SCAM. This started in June 09 and again in Aug 09.
                                      It appears to be joint scam between Airtel and the service provider of VAS 290603 to boost their revenues. Most people would not be even aware of this deduction, so they are basically robbing ignorant customers. It appears a lot of other customers are also facing this problem but not many are raising this issue as this time consuming. Airtel customer service is poor and they seem intent on cheating the customers. As of today there is no way to contact customer person using 121. So one has no choice but live with deduction.
                                      Airtel has about 100 million GSM subscribers today, 4-SMS per dayRs.3/- for a single subscriber may not be much, but for 100 million subscribers a day it is 4xRs.300 million a day – one of the biggest scams going on today, but no one writes about it.

                                      I suggest someone write to the Economic Times and all the newspapers that cater to share market information, letting share market investors and traders know that this is a shady company (like ENRON) trying to inflate revenues by fraudulent means. I suspect that crores of subscribers are being charged this way by Airtel, and this is downright FRAUD.

                                      The SEBI also needs to know about this. Airtel company officials should be made to answer to TRAI and the SEBI and government regulators about this.

                                      Imagine if they are doing this to 1 crore subscribers, 4 times a day. That is Rs. 12 crores revenue per day by SCAMMING the innocent users like us who are getting nowhere with this. Airtel refuses to even admit this is a problem. Each person is being told that he/she MUST have subscribed to this service!

                                      I have not subscribed for the "JOKES" from my phone.

                                      May be my small neice have accidentely subscribed for that service through Airtel Live.Well that is just a posssibility but I am not sure of this.

                                      Since I never wanted that service I unscribed it by sending the neccessary SMS to 55382.

                                      After some time I recieved SMS back which said "Invalid Request .You are not Subscribed for jokes".

                                      Now since I already had doubt that may be it was due to some error with airtel system, to ensure the same I called your customer care service.

                                      Two things disoppointed me a lot.

                                      1.I was not at all happy be the executive which I spoke and felt very insulted by the way he spoke to me.His behavior was very rude and he had some kind of 'don't care' attitude.Even after 24 hours I feel upset when I remember the convesation.

                                      2.With such a IT infra structure the executive had no way to trace that how /why my request for subscribing 'Jokes ' got processed(like how and when did the system recieve instructions of any form from me).When I requested this information there was a blunt reply that he did not have faciltity to trace that information.When I said I doubted it was due to Airtel system error he said that can never happen.I don't know how an executive claim that airtel IT infrastucture has zero errors and never does it behave abruptly.When I scanned internet, internet is full of complains agaist the system.

                                      1. after recharging with rs. 94 when i started surfing within 8am they deducted all my balances but it should be within 1gb free. it happened thrice. amade several complaints and their gprs help desk (id[protected] etc ) after thorough review also agreed that my main balance was wrongly deducted due to some unknown reason and it wont happen now onwards but they have no way to refund my money back. they now blocked my 121 line. when i mail at [protected]@airtel.in got the same one way official reply stating that they made all deduction correctly. Now how can i get my money back or get full statement o[censored]sages.

                                      2. Today itself i recharged successfully for 100 sms and balance enquiry shows about 100 sms. But when i sent sms all the charges were deducted from my main balance of around rs.70. lodged complaint and they replied '' Please be informed that due to blackout days from dated 31/12/09, 12 AM to 01/01/2010 12:59 PM the SMS boosters and free SMS are not applicable and the local SMS will be charged Re.1/- as per your tariff.'' now how a customer will know airtel is changing their plans for some few hours (may be just to collect some extra money)!

                                      I should not expect any refund from a corporate robber. is there any other solution.

                                      Not sure if Airtel is in need of money that it is stealing from its customers or if it the area manager trying to attain some target...

                                      As with lakhs and lakhs of innocent customers, Airtel subscribed my 62 yr old aunty for all kind of paid subscriptions for the 3rd or 4th time and sent a note (SMS) saying "Thank you for subscribing" as if she subscribed to the so called value added service!!!

                                      I'd contacted customer care couple of times for this particular line and got all subscriptions cancelled, registered in "Do not Disturb" a month a half back and again today she is charged Rs 30 for radio service which she didn't subscribe for.

                                      I've had similar issue with the other 8 lines that I, my mother, father, two of my aunties and uncles use and I've contacted Airtel so many times that I would have wasted 48 hours of my life just with Airtel customer care!

                                      Seriously thinking of moving away from Airtel as it seems to be run by a gang of thieves (atleast in my zone)...

                                      Though I let Airtel steal our money in earlier cases, NOW I WANT MY 30Rs BACK.

                                      Hope Govt makes it a law that no cell phone service provider can enroll its customer to paid services automatically and start charging them. Service providers should be punished for such malpractices mentioned above.

                                      Occasionally they do send some message in English with some information on cancelling the service, but it is INDIA, not everyone knows to read ENGLISH, especially the old people. And ofcourse, in some cases, the cancelling procedure given in the SMS doesn't work... not surprised at all.

She paid cash of Rs 249/- for a lifetime prepaid and was issued receipt no 843. The number alloted to her was [protected].

                                      The card was immediately activated within 24 hours on 30-01-10. She was informed by your authorised representative that a verification call would be placed at the residence telephone no given by her viz[protected]. No verification call was placed uptil 2nd February, 2010. On 3rd February 2010 my niece and her parents travelled out of station to Udaipur due to which the residence was locked. On 8th Feb 2010 my niece made a refill of Rs 120 in the morning at around 14:00 hrs. At around 15:00 hours the mobile number alloted was deactivated. Upon enquiring with your representative Bhavana Televentures she was informed that the number was deactivated since telephonic verification was negative and that the amount of Rs 249 & the refill of Rs 120 would be forfieted.

                                      The basic issue here is how is the number activated before the telephonic verification is completed and how can it be deactivated without actually doing a verification given that the family members of the subscriber are out of station and cannot be reached at the residential telephone numbers. This kind of service of looting subscribers and forfeiting their hard earned money is third grade and deserves to be punished and stopped.

                                      My niece shared the phone number with various friends/colleagues and by this callous act on your part she is now without a phone number.

                                      I demand an immediate explanation and compensation for this pathetic and lousy service carrying the brand name of Mr Sunil Bharti Mittal. It is a shame on your part. Would also request you to check out which fools and are manning the Mulund West centre of yours. I had the opportunity of visiting that place for lodging my complaint but after seeing the numerous people who had complaints there I felt that visiting a fish market would have been less stressful.

                                      By all this I as well as my niece have been subjected to mental torture, embarassment and damage to our reputation and we demand an immediate refund of Rs 369/- and an adequate amount as compensation for mental torture and embarassment faced.

                                      I am sending a copy of this complaint to your competitors and would also publish this in the newspapers if I do not get a response within 12 hours.

                                      I woke up today n read an sms from 58888 "Thank you for your subscription to SAMACHAR pack. To unsubscribe send UNSUB SAMACHAR to 58888. Charges 1rs/day"

                                      What the hell. I never subscribed. But still I sent sms with UNSUB SAMACHAR to 58888 and I was charged 3 rs for the sms. So total 4 rs lost for the smses 1=subscribe 3=unsubscribe

                                      Now i called 121>5>1 they said i will be charged 50paise per 3 minute to talk to customer rep. So I decided to avoid it. They take 15 minutes approx.

                                      What the hell is it? Why doesn't AIRTEL beg me than loot me for money. 4 rs isn't too much but it hurts when they cheat. These fraud airtel people suck.

                                      Airtel mobile is following unethical practices and needs to be punished heavily. Secondly the amount deducted from my mob no.[protected] by such underhand means and that to without even asking my consent to join such clubs should be credited to my account in my mobile no.[protected].                                       I am an Airtel Post Paid customer, since Dec 2007.
                                      I receive my bill online, hence have shared my personal email address with Airtel.
                                      Since last few months I have been receiving messages from Airtel for their DTH connection.
                                      Is this not unfair for a consumer, as the company is using my personal email address to cross sell their product.I had never asked/ confirmed with Airtel regarding their promotional messages. Is this not breach of trust as Airtel is using the information it has in its database, without my consent ? This is the case with millions of consumer who utilize the services of Airtel ?
                                      I am sure this is not an isolated case and many like me, who have share their personal email adress with Airtel are bearing the burnt of this unethical business practice from Airtel.
                                      What if Airtel share our personal mobile numbers or email address with third party for financial gains ?
                                      Though Airtel provide an unsubscribe link, the email address mentioned in the mail communication id non functional. I have raised this issue with Airtel, but still I get DTH promotional mail communication.

Since July/2010, I have been receiving msgs from AD-54321 " You have been renewed for My Expense Tracker subscription service from Airtel. You have been charged Rs: 15. Enjoy Best Games ! Join Games Club http://gclub.in " and each time Rs: 15/- are going to be deducted from my balance. This has happened for more than 10 times and inspite of send them "STPO" on 121, there is no stoppage in sending the above bloody msg and deduction continues from my balance.

                                      Would you please help me from the above unethical practice of AIRTEL or shall discontinue the connection .

                                      My mobile no is [protected]. Over the past 3 months, every month I am receiving a message from 50505 saying that "Thank you for registering. You have been charged Rs 15 for..... event." and Rs 15 is being deducted from my balance. On 2 of the last occasions i contacted the customer care center and the have removed the subscription and money was refunded back into the account but on both occasions I was charged 1/- for the talk time. I had instructed that I am not interested in any subscriptions and that i am not to be disturbed. I was assured that it will not be repeated in future. But now again on[protected] I received the same message and Rs. 15 has been deducted. I do not want to be disturbed with offers or subscriptions and I want the money to be refunded to my account.

                                      i have got three airtel numbers and this ScamTel is been robbing me for more than last three years . once i activated GPRS service on my mobile number [protected] for one onth and then i sent a msg to stop it . i have got the msg that " my service has been stopped and i wont be charged Rs 299 anymore", then one month past with any trouble and then the next month i was charged Rs 299 for GPRS, this thing didnt stop for like 5-6 months and in the mean time i called customer care so many time and they said " Sir we didnt start this service, you must have sent any msg from your side". finally when i told them that i am gonna sue ur LAME company., they finally refunded my amount which was near about 1500.
                                      Now for few months first they charged me Rs 1 per day for more than one month and when i got to know that i have been robbed again by this Bull Company, i called customer care( which is now paid service i[censored] call in) i was charged rs 3 for that custoer care call And i was refunded Rs 6.
                                      Then again After 10-15 days this HEAD COMPANY again put some cricket alert on all my three cell numbers ( [protected], [protected], [protected] ) And start to robbing me again . When i called customer care I was charged some money and got refund for last 72 hrs charges.
                                      Now the latest one ---- i got to know on 6th January that this SCUM BAG COMPANY has put some RANBIR KAPOOR PACK on my number [protected] and has been roobing my rs 1 per day since the Dec 19 2010 and when i called in the customer care, these HEADS refunded me ONLY RS 3 .

                                      AND yeah not to mention that have been registered at NDNC .

                                      For which, whenever we recharge/topped up, the balance goes off automatically without even using if for calling. When we called the customer care, they are saying you have been subscribed for news, jokes etc, which we never asked for. And then they unsubscribed us.

                                      After recharing next time, the same cheating continues. Its a never ending problem. I think, most of the prepaid users might be facing this problem.

                                      Request you to warn AIRTEL for its day robbery. Its SHAME for them, for thier SHAMEFUL activities like these.

                                      Since 24th June, 2011 Air tel is debiting Rs.1.50 daily to my account towards subscription for Movie and Lifestyle which I never subscribed to. My Mobile No. is [protected]. I want the company to refund my account immediately with the amount already debited.

                                      Please provide all these facilities to the people who have subscribed instead do not charge us for unnecessary reasons.

                                      I am vivisting the airtel gallery at chalakudy since two months with a complaint of non refund of my activation charges. No action has been taken still. The number is active sice 4 years and i wanted to keep the number active. Really worst service in this competitive environment....

                                      I am suffered from airtel services they activate the services and never listen the complaints/or work on complaints neither on customer care or Consumer forum. I have also make complaints on 17 july against VOV Video Service for deactivation on my mobile no [protected]. But they don't stop the VOV VIDEO SUBSCRIPTION services and also block the customer Care service on my mobile no. Who Will pay the amount which is deduduted on my mobile no from May . I was very unhappy from airtel. If they dont't stop the service and return the amount which was deduted from my account then I Switch to some other network.

                                      The airtel has activated subscription and deducted Rs 5 for an service we never asked for. They repeatedly do this and deduct amount. We have complained this to the airtel customer call center but no action has been taken yet.

                                      I am doctor by profession and work for the World Health Organization .My home town is gwalior , i came to gwalior on 7-5-2012 and purchased a 3G dongle with data connection scheme for Rs2390 from City Centre office , gwalior . I was told it will get activated in 2 hours and it didnot worked , i asked my dad to follow up and still nothing happened , he went many times to airtel office i had to leave to jaipur later and that was the purpose i took it so that i will be connected on the move. It didnot work at all. I came to gwalior on 12 and complaint again and again and went personally 4-5 times , they told its a technical problem and when asked to return money told they cant , its my bad luck.

Now I am working in a MNC. Though I get many cheap and attractive Corporate Plans from many operators in my company, I never changed my sim card because I wanted my phone number and Friends Plan to stay continued. But, today I feel like changing my plan.

I called up customer care and I was told that Rs. 75 wala recharge has changed my plan. The person from customer care gently said me that- "This change in Rs.75 recharge has taken place 8 days back and you should be knowing this." Now how would I know this without any intimation from Airtel? When I told him that I m doing this recharge since last many years and how can this change be done so suddenly, he suggested me that from next time, before doing recharge, I should call up the customer care to confirm about what recharge I am doing every time. He told me that now my plan cannot be changed back to my previous plan.
                                        How can Airtel make such changes suddenly without any intimation to the customer? Or are these tactics used to kick out their Airtel Friend's customers?
                                        I want to get my previous plan back or now I will switch onto some other operator. I know this wont make any difference to the Airtel, but I dont want to be with such a operator who are so irresponsible to their customers. And in addition to this, switching onto other operation will atleast give me some intelligent custormer care where I will get correct information everytime I call them. As far as my experience, Airtel has summoned the team of most irresponsible and fool customer care executives who dont have any proper and correct information to give to their customers. And on the top, they charge the customer 50 Paise/3 minutes for talking with their stupid customer care executives.

                                        Please suggest me what can I do now?
