I DID MY BACHELORS DEGREE FROM ALAGAPPA UNIVERSITY, TAMILNADU THROUGH DISTANCE . I CAME TO KNOW THAT THE INDIAN UNIVERSITIES WHICH OFFER DISTANCE EDUCATION PROGRAMS SHOULD TAKE PERMISSION FROM " DISTANCE EDUCATION COUNCIL(DEC), NEW DELHI " BEFORE STATING THEIR COURSES, WITHOUT WHICH DEGREE'S OFFERED BY SUCH UNIVERSITIES ARE NOT VALID . HENCE UNIVERSITIES IN INDIA HAS TO TAKE PERMISSION FROM DEC AND IT IS MANDATORY FOR UNIVERSITIES IN INDIA GIVING DISTANCE EDUCATION COURSES . PLEASE CHECK ( WEBSITE : www.dec.ac.in ) for more information . Its M.Phil. degree is recognized for state employnment in goverment and private sector. Please intimate me more details of Alagappa University at the earliest.

ALAGAPPA DDE — Approved or not by DEC New Delhi
I did my M Phil in English.So i want to confirm Alagappa DDE for Mphil programme is approved by DEC New Delhi Dear Sir.
i am a studemt of Mphil (cs) from Allagappa univ. Till now, there has been no complaint, i have completed all my papers and submitted my dissertation. It has been a really good experience. Timely results, online forms available etc
However, since i am in delhi, due to my family problems(fathers health) i will not be able to come to Karaikudi to attend viva, Is there any way i can attend it in Delhi/nearby place. I want to do it in the fisrt slot only, since i dont want to waste some more time??
Please suggest.

Take note that now tn has made some restriction on M.phil and Phd through distance. I have been told by Education dept (tn) which i got clarified for a course.
Also note DEC is an approval for distance eduction to a university and for knowing a course approved or not then you need to confirm with UGC / DEC again on this..
