[Resolved]  altec lansing — part not available

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is to bring my frustration with a purchase of a product of your company, into your notice. Before procedding further, I would also request you to put yourself in my place & then try to understand my concern.
On October 07, 2006, I purchased a unit of "Altec Lansing Speaker VS 4221 (Sl No 61120SHEU001431)." The following are the purchase details:

Warranty: 1 Year.

I was extremely happy with the purchase of this product & it's performance. However, arround February 2008, the Integrated Circuit of the product went bad.
When I approached Trifin Information Technology (P) Ltd., about the repair of the product, they referred me to your authorized service center. I understand that the warranty of the product was no more applicable & I also assured the service center about making the payment for the replacement of the damaged circuit. The service center kept my product with them as well for arround 2 weeks, informing me that it will take that long to get the damaged part & repair the speakers.

However, after 2 weeks, I was informed that the product has been discontinued & no parts are available. The service center took my contact details & assured me that they will procure the part from there overseas stores & inform me once it's available. After a month, when I approached them, I was informed that the part is nowhere available.

Despite my wait of two years & approaching different service center of your company, I am still getting the same answer that the part is not available due to discontuinity of the product.

I hope you can understand my frustrations & I have a few questions to you.
Why your company made a product for which you are not able to provide a part just after 2 years of it's purchase?
Or should I take it a scam to rob the customers of their money & then discontinue the product & once the product goes bad, the circumstances created by your company force them to buy another one?
What kind of customer service do you provide?
Or unless untill a customer is willing to approach the legal way, your company will not look into the matter?

I am frustrated enough & need a satisfactory resolution ASAP.
