[Resolved] American Express — Incorrect Information on Credit Card | |||
I just opted for an American Express Gold Credit card. The USP for the card was that if it is used to transact for 250 rs a month for times we get 1000 points. The customer representative kept insisting that this will never change and I will continue to get the points if i make the transactions. Suddenly one month after the i take the card i got an Email stating that effective 1 October 2013 inorder to get 1000 points customers have to make 4 transactions of 1000 rs each. This is absolutely cheating customers. How can you change the Business Policy in one month. I have an SBI gold card which was free for life time. Couple of years back SBI started charging for the card. However, given i was an old customer and i was promised it will be a free card, I am not charged annual fees on the card. Similarly Citi changed its policy on my cash rewards card. However, to compensate i was given 10,0000 points. American express should note that every time a customer applies for a credit card. his credit score is affected and knowing this I am very choosy about applying for cards. This is extreme unprofessional behavior and cheating the customers. Was this information helpful? | |||
