[Resolved]  Barclay Bank — Cancellation of Barclays Priority Circle Membership and reversal of membership fees in my credit card statement

Sir,
I am using Barclay Times Card.
Few days ago, I got a call form Barclay Customer Care and they ask the details of my Credit Card for the
one of the service i.e. Barclay Priority CIRCLE for no charge and even i got the confirmation call from Barclay which I clearly say "If i have to pay any money then I don't need any service". The charges are debited to my card for Rs. 6000 plus the service charges. I even call customer care and I get to know that they had done some quality testing on the call and So the service can not be deactivated.
I want to tell you again I clearly say I don't need any service if I have to pay any money.

Please let me know what should I do next.

" I am not interested to join priority circle membership" my due date is 28th july so please stop the billing process and cancel as soon as possible i am not satisfied about the oral false statement" i mentioned the following details given below: and
today which is 26-07-08 called custmercareservice officer also but she told we are not to take this issue she said follow up your chennai number on monday and get it reply and follow up.

They have activated some offer called you are one
of best customer in chennai thats why you had selected as a lucky
winner out of 3 in chennai offer. But I have not received any written proof and not signing any documents regarding this offer. They had called up in 10th june 08 and told that you are selected as a special customer by Barclay Card, so we are giving you this offer. You will get life time discount of 30% every shopping, 10% cash back offer, 2000 worth travel bag, spend Rs.30000/- and get cash back Rs.5, 500/- etc. you will get so many other benefits. . But I have not received any document about this. When I try to using this chennai ph no: not use, why because every moment the line was busy or please try the next day, how to i Communicate regarding this issue. i am not not interested to pay the amount Rs.5000 + service tax Rs. 618/- i am not give my credit card no still.The Credit card no is. cancel the membership offer as soon as possible and assured me of reversal. The customer care service is worst because any time busy. It is extreme mental harassment for me. They will lure you of many offers on phone but not give anything in Written proof everytime the concern dept (offering dept) giving oral false statement thats why i am facing lot of problems which is my due date 28-07-08. please take care of this issue and help us to solve my problem before my due date, i am awaiting for your reply, i am not responsibilities for this issue and future billing. i feel very bad about offering service through phone.

Note: i had talked with customer care officer on 23-07-08 regarding this issue but not i am getting any email confirmation still, i am not getting any reply from your side, i am awaiting for your reply.

Samiz (mumbai) barclays bank offer dept, i asked complaint number but he did not give, but i also informed one more time regarding this issue he told me i forward the message to my higher officer please wait i understood your problem and getting reply from my higher officer

Barclay Bank Credit Card — Barclay Membership circle fees

Dear Sir,
This is for your kind concern that I have been charged for some type of member ship fees by Barclay Bank without my knowledge. and they are not removing the same in spite of so many request has been sent to their customer care.
In fact it is told to me that the fees will be removed in my coming statement but they does not do so.
Now I have dispointed from thier services and not making the further payment till my request is not taken considered.

Barklays Bank credit card — non reversal of priority circle membership fees

I had received a call in the month of June 08 regarding the Priority Circle membership for Rs.5000+ taxes 618/- which I had accepted. But due to some personal personal problems this is not possible for me to take this membership and that's why after a week I called the customer care of priority circle at Delhi number to cancel my membership but she talked very rudely and told me that this is not our policy to cancel the membership and when I told her this is cheating then she replied me that this is not our fault you have accepted the membership and you have to pay the fees at any how. Then I mailed a complaint to customercare of barclays credit card on 16th June 08 and a reply from their end on 22nd of June 2008 that they will reverse the amount which will reflect in my next statement . But the same was not reversed. After calling so many times to the customer care they always assure me that your request has been forwarded. but the fees has not been reversed . I had not paid the bill from that month they are harrassing me by continuos SMS and phone calls on my cell and landline numbers and executive talk very rudely due to which I am in very much mental stress. A call from Neeraj received me yesterday 13.10.08 to pay Rs.370/- to stable your account and after that you will get a receipt and then call at [protected] give them this receipt no . After this your membership and other charges will be reversed in the next statement definetly . I am confused whether they are lying or not. Because I have no faith in Barklays Bank.

Barclay credit card - Priority Circle Membership — Cancel my membership & credit all the debited amount in my card.

I am a Barclay Credit card holder. I was offered priority circle membership on phone. In my case I had first agreed to joining the priority circle. No one told me about the charges regarding membership & Rs 6000/- + Service Charges were debited from my account. Since then, I have sent several reminders to cancel my membership or cancel this type of scheme, but I have got no response to my mail. But no one has bothered to listen to my complaint. I also have not received any gift or any details of their offer in written form till date.

Barclays Bank — Priority Circle Charges- Credit Card

I have Braclays Bank Credit Card which i have never used till date. Previous month i received an statement from Braclays which reflects payment due as Rs. 6741.60 of Priority Circle fee. I have never asked for this service and didnt even know the facilities offered under this facility.
Post inquiry they told me, they called me up and did all possible verification and i requested for the service. They refused to reverse the charges and when i asked for voice confirmation they were again helpless.

Kindly help.

Barclay's credit card /priority circle membership — Membership charges applied to my card.

Respected Sir/ Madam,

Myself, Yashodhan.V.Patil, this complaint is in regard for the amount charged on my Barclays credit card. A month ago some representative from Barclay’s priority circle called me and told me that I am entitled to get some free gifts because of my good relationship with the bank. He called me thrice but not anywhere he mentioned that some amount would be charged to me. To my surprise in the statement I received the charges for being associated with the Barclay card priority membership. I called many times and talked to the Barclays customer representative for canceling the membership but they kept giving me the Barclays priority circle telephone numbers. I even tried calling there and called to every office located in Chennai, Pune, Mumbai and Delhi. Most of the phone which I called was not working and I even kept holding the phone for more than 15 mins. Till date I have at least made more than 25 calls. From your medium I want to convey to cancel my priority circle membership with immediate effect. In these cases you also need to take strong action against these representatives for spreading wrong information. Although till date I had a good time with the Barclays card except this incident. I haven’t recd any documents or brochure of any kind from the Barclays bank regarding the memberships to any of addresses. I kindly request you to look in this matter and do the needful. I hope this issue gets resolved as soon as possible.

Barclay Bank Credit Card Priority Circle Charges — Priority Circle membership Charges

I have been issued a Times Card in August 2008. In my first monthly statement an amount of Rs.6712/- have been lavied as Priority Circle Charges. Since then I am trying to reverse these charges. So far they have not been reversed. They are stating that these charges cannot be reversed. Since it is a big amount and already they have charged around Rs. 1000/- as Late Payment Charges. Since I have not paid this amount they will charge again, as per the reply from Customer Care Executives. I am confused what to do? Please help me to get out of this trap/trouble due to Barklay Bank. I further request all the members not to bank with such a cheater bank.

I am Dipti Rane whish to bring to your kind information that i have been charged some kind of Membership Fee by the Barclays Priority Circle. This is absolutely a cheating and a fraud case as call center person told me that this is free, he does not told about any type of fee that time.

I am not at all intrested in any such membership. These Barclays bank people are simply fooling the customers just to meet their sales target.

I called the help line but they told me that it is not possible to cancel.

Please take required action against this as i have seen that many people are been fooled / cheated by the Barclays bank

Barclays Bank — Cancellation is not done

Barclays bank called me up for a priority circle membership, to which I agreed saying if there is no initial payment then I will enroll. They enrolled me and later served with a bill of 7000.

For which I denied, not they say I delayed in cancellation of the same so they won’t withdraw the charges. Since then I have been exchanging mails with them to resolve but could not.

They keep on sending me the mails that the telephonic records say i agreed but they cant share with me the voice record. the delay of cancellation was also more than 21 days hence they wont withdraw the amount.

I have been using the barclays card since january 2008.when i applied for the card i was told different schemes on the card.i recieved the card and i confirmed all the schemes on the card from the customer care, the customer care is so rubbish, they dont even know how to talk to a customer.i dont know how many times i have got false promises from the bank.there are many late charges reversals which need to be done but bank is not interested in replying as well.i have written so many mails and called customer care so many times but what answer i always get is we have forwaded the case to the head office and head office will contact you as soon as possible but i haven't got any reply from the bank.I am very much fedup with the services of barclays.

Barclay Bank — "Barclay Priority Circle offer "

Hi,

"Barclay Priority Circle offer".While promoting they promised me 30% rebate on all the purchases, including petrol.I subscribed to the offer only because if i spend around Rs.18000 on petrol my subscription charges will be recoverd.

But the offer is not as promised by the telecaller(30% rebate not allowed on petrol purchase).Hence i requested for the cancellation of the offer as it is of no use to me.

The subscription charges of Rs.5000 is regularly included in all my bills together with some interest and penalty on that.

If the offer is not cancelled immediately i have no other go but to take legal action on the ground that,

1) you have failed to appoint a proper person ( i.e., telecaller who cannot explain the offers properly)
2) you have misguided me to subscribe the offer by promising benefits which are infact not there.

I request your immediate and proper action in this regards

Barclays — entrapment

Like many of the complaints I have read, I, too, have been dupped by this company. When I signed up for this card, at their airline recruiting desk, I asked about the APR, and said I would cancel if it was not low. I received the credit card, and did call the customer service number, and when I was told the balance transfer offer was very limited, I asked to be discontinued. I asked if I would get my original $49 back. I was told that I would. I called this company each time I received a statement, asking for cancellation and a refund, and was told 'what I wanted to hear' each time. Once I spoke with a 'Mark', who said my balancw would be adjusted, and I would get my payment returned. Well, the answer is obvious; neither of these things took place and now I owe three times my original payment, and I never activated the card, nor agreed to anything other than the initial agreement in 2007. Calling customer service avails nothing and it seems impossible to get out from under this Trojan Horse. I have even tried to make a complaint with the state attorney general.

I would like someone, in the US, which is part of this company's website logo; someone in management who can authorize 'total and complete' cancellation of this contract. If I must pay the balance, before it becomes thousands, I want assurity that I am completely vindicated from this 'Pandora's Box' of maheim.

I have tried mannerably to get this resolved, and now I am totally frustrated.

Will the president, ceo, regional vice president; someone at corporate headquarters for Barclay or Comcast, or whoever is raking in this filthy luker, to contact me; and apparently many others, and get us off your books, please.

Barclays — Assured from service desk to reversal of amount,but not reflecting in statement

I have paid my total outstanding.But due to some reason my account is showing some outstanding balance.Call to customer care people arround 15 times but they have not solved my problem.After sending mail to service desk got reply that they will reversal all the amount.Since 3 month has passed but my outstanding raising day by day and every day I am getting arround 20 calls and getting distrubed abruptly.I have given the mail reference no recipt no many times to barclays collection people and customer care people and arround 10 people assured me to passed the issue to concerened dept but nothing has resolved.My contact- +91-[protected]

Barclay Bank — Barclay priority charges membership

I was charged for Barclay Priority membership on August 2nd and i requested for cancellation for this on 7th of August. When i called the customer care they said me that they dont deal with priority circle. They have a different department for priority circle. I tried to call the priority circle executives but in vain. I tried to contact them many time but no one would ever respond.

Then I mailed to [protected]@barclay.com. In addition to this, i wasnt delivered the tour package and trolley bag. Till date they have not given me a positive result. At last with no other option left i stopped the payment to the bank. Now they are threatening to report my name to CIBIL. Also the interest is increasing everyday.

Please advise me what should i do to revert back the barclay priority circle membership charges.Before this incident i had always paid the amount within the due date.

Barclays — Reversal of priority circle charges

Months ago i had recieved a call from a barclays card executive for priority circle . he said iam a esteemed customer of barclays and said there WILL NOT BE ANY CHARGES for activationg the priority circle. but in my next barclays card bill i was charged 5000 extra. I mailed to barclays services and called client services . once or twice there were executives who informed me that they will reverse the charges as i have not availed any of the facility in the priority circle but all turned out to be a false promise. i had to go on paying the minimum charges until i decided to clear off all the amount . there was harassment from barclays card executives through phone calls to pay the amount. I am still fighting for my money.
I agree to that. Not only me facing the problem, Many are there in Queue. Please guide us to resolve the issue.

pertaining which I got a call from Barclay Priority Center in Sep 2008,offering me Barclay Priority Club Membership and assured me the benifits (few mentioned below)
1-30% discount in each & every transaction.
2-500 Rs Cash Back in every 5000 Rs Shopping
3-Trolly bag,
4-3 days+2 Nights free in (4-5 star) hotel booking outside India for [2 Adult+2 Kids]
5-Benefits on movie tickets.
6-Benefits in online shopping.benefits in online booking etc .
against the Barclay Priority Center charges 5000 Rs.

Further using the card I couldn't avail the benifits of the membership as offered, I had communicated the same to Barclay bank 's Customer Care [complain no:[protected] ] and got the assurance that they will resolve the issue within 15 days.Later on I decided to withdraw from the Membership and requested for the reversal of deducted amount which was 5000 INR .Customer care executive refused to do that and told me once a person opted the membership he cann't withdraw.Despite of repeated request for amount reversal I couldn't get it.

Meanwhile, I went abroad for 1.8 Years after coming back I got the statment showing the pending amount of approx 12500 INR .I had again contancted with customer care [Complain No-3897479,3962928] and explained the matter to them then they told that Barclays has closed my Credit card account and listed me as defaulter & advise me to contact collection department in order to settle the matter.

I found myself cheated on the follwing reason

1. They offered me the fake membership and deducted the amount but never give me benifits as said .
2. Refuse to revert the charges.

My question is whether Bank want to resolve the matter or it is the policy of the bank first to make big promises, later push the customer to defaulter's list.

On my part I just want to settle the matter ASAP and pay the actual amount after deducation of membership Charges (i.e 5000 INR) + late payment charges on the same.

Please let me know if any information required from my side.
