[Resolved]  Barclays Credit Card — Dispute of transactions.

Dear Team,
This is with regards to the dispute of few of the transactions which I do not
recognize on my Barclays Credit Card No: [protected].
I have reported to the bank about the same and have not been helpful in this
regards. I would want to report the same to you. Following are the main details
and my discussion with Barclays.
• First time the card was used on 29/12/2007.
• Lost the card on 03/03/2008. Immediately reported to the bank on the
same day. Customer service representative advised that they have closed
the card from the banks end.
• I also advised the representative not to send the card as I wanted to pay
my bill off and close the account. (Due to bad service and no branches for
assistance).
• Always had problem from the Banks end with regards to the collection of
the Cheques. Cheques were misplaced every time.
• While talking to one of the executive I advised them that am not happy
with there service and advised will close the account after I clear the
balance.
• But in the next statement I found few cash withdrawals from ICICI bank
which I did not recognize. I was surprised to see those transactions as I
did not have the card with me and also had advised not to send a new
card.
• Called the bank immediately to check if by mistake they have sent a new
card and if it is in the wrong hands. But the representative confirmed that
they have not sent a new card. I told them about the transactions on my
statement and questioned them if the card was closed and the new card
was not sent out how can the transactions come?
• I continued to make payments for the transactions which I had made.
They advised that once we make the payments the blocked card will get
released to use. My question is - Is this the way you close the card?
The lost card can be with any one. This is not the way you protect your
customers account.
• The call was escalated to the floor supervisor named Javed Shaikh on
01/06/2008 at 10.46 PM who is based in Mumbai. Our conversation went
on why the card was not closed. He did not have an answer. End of our
conversation he advised me to give it in writing so that they can proceed
with the investigation. In our conversation I also mentioned Javed that I
will inform it to the Police but he advised me not to do so as the Bank will
carry on the investigation. Before those disputed transactions I had to pay
off 19364.68 Rs for which I have made the payment.
• As per the advise I wrote a formal complaint to the bank. But did not get
the confirmation from them with regards. After I followed up I received a
response from them that they have forwarded the details to the Fraud
Control Unit who will take 30 to 45 days to resolve the complaint.
• I had clearly mentioned in the letter that I will not be making any payment
for the transactions which I have not done.
• After me have reported the fraudulent transitions the collections team
continued to call me. Collection team doesn’t have contact with the
customer care no.
• In a day I received around 15 calls for the collections later it was worse.
• After my follow up with them after several months they advised me that as
it is the ATM withdrawal it cannot be disputed. I requested them to find
some solution for it as it is a huge amount.
• They continued to send the statements with the same transactions and
with a harassing note that they will register at the credit bureau. I am not
happy to pay the money which I have not used it.

• My Payment Details follows:
1. Rs 4000/- on 10/03/2008.
2. Rs 10, 000/- on 17/04/2008.
3. Rs 10, 000/- on 07/06/2008.
4. Rs 9, 500/- 19/07/2008.

• Fraudulent Transaction Details Follows: (Unrecognized Transactions)
• 27/04/2008 ICICI Bank Brigade Enterprise – 6:23:09 PM Amt 1000.00Dr
• 27/04/2008 ICICI Bank Brigade Enterprise – 6:23:51 PM Amt 2000.00 Dr
• 21/05/2008 ICICI Bank SajjanRao Circle – 11:47:06 AM Amt 4000.00 Dr.
They have added cash advance fee for 300 for all the transactions and Service
Tax at 12.36% (37.08 + 37.80 + 37.80)
Need to dispute all these transactions.
• I have made several calls to the bank which have lasted for more than 45
to 50 mins. It has been a painful experience with The BARCLAYS BANK.

Sub:- Over Charges charged by Barclays Bank- card No- [protected]



Respected Sir

With Due regards I want to state as follows:

1) I have a Barclays Card - No-[protected] since July'08.

2) I was having a Limit of more than 50000/- ( Exact figure I donot know right now) but limit was decreases to Rs. 12000/-, from when, I donot know.( I was never informed).

3) I donot received the bill for July / August'08, Although I have a spending of Rs.14512/- during July'08. After discussing on Telephone I make the Payment of Rs.1000/- on 26th of Aug'08 to the Bank Representative, with a promise from Call centre that they will reverse the Late Payment Charges if any as this was th first month and I could not received the Bill.

4) During Next month bill bank charged Late Payment and Overlimit Charges. On enquiry from Call Centre I was told that the Cash payment was credited on 16th Sept'08 and my Limit has been decreases, so they charged Overlimit Charges, But they will reverse them in next bill.

5) I again make the payment of Rs. 1550/- to Bank Representative in cash on 26th Aug which was again credited only after 5th of Sept ( Which is the date of generatiing bill as I understant).

6) Main thing is that after writing so many times to the Card Authorities they are not replying in the matter. I have already send the Scan copies of Receipts to the Bank Authorities but they are not reversing the charges although confirming on phones that my matter is geniune.

7) I have make the payments so many times but always in spite of correcting the bill they are again and again charging the charges as Late payment and Over Limit.

8) I never used the card afterwards, and till now make the payment of Rs.15111/-.

9) If the interst rate of 3.1% is charged the net outstanding now comes to Rs.5060/- only but the Bank is saying to have an outstanding of more than Rs. 24000/- mainly due to will full wrongly charges of Over Limit and Late Charges.

11. Please arrange to help me as I have tried to reslve the issue from Bank, But they are not giving a proper reply ( May be this is a way to cheat).

12. Even their Call Centre people are trying to threat me to physically assault and to refer the case to credit monitoring agency.

13. I again request you to please settle the case as 3.1% Interest is already on higher side, and there is no requirements for any Late payment or OverLimit Charges when bank has no good intension.
