[Resolved]  BSNL (Evdo USB Data Card) — The worst customer service!! The reason why Japan built itself so hi-tech in 50+ years from scratch and India did not!!

I'm an IT trainer and fortunately or unfortunately I teach customer service to people and I experienced the most terrible customer service ever. I walked into the Koramangala, Bangalore BSNL Customer service office to apply and collect a USB Data Card for my laptop. I had to visit the office 7 times and every time I went there they would tell me they have no stocks or they'd tell me that there computers are not functioning so they can’t communicate to the concerned dept. The old lady there even shouted at me for being persistent and showing up so many times, although later she tells me that it happens because she has too much work(Not what I saw when I was there for hours unless you call talking over the phone a lot of work). I eventually got the USB Data Card and now came the issue of activating it. It's been two weeks now and calling customer care number and getting a hold of one person (and that was the only time I got to speak to someone) revealed that the work order was not sent from the customer care office in two weeks. There phones are never reachable and I don’t like to meet them just to get yelled by them.

My opinion as a customer service trainer:
1. Customer Service is an attitude and not something that can be enforced on one
2. Please get rid of people who cannot and I mean literally cannot multi-task certainly for the fact that they are old. I don’t mean offense against elderly folks and I certainly respect them but there's a limit to what we can expect from them
3. Someone has to make a conscious effort to improve the system. It doesn’t happen on its own, It’s not evolution its revolution that this country needs
4. I see a lot of complaints against different departments in BSNL and a Google search will reveal hundreds of blogs that has everything negative to say about BSNL. My question is, what has any of it achieved? Here I am putting down a complaint and I wonder what it's going to fetch me. I sure hope this write up makes a difference somewhere, somehow.

my EVDO CARD IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY PLEASE CONTACT IMMEDIATLY.
ITs too slow..giving only 40 60 kbps(kilo bits)...
Actually i find this with most of the customer care centers or
say shops where a customer is supposed to be treated as god.Apparently customers are treated as intruders here in Bangalore.I had a similar experience with BSNL .Can you imagine they asked me submit an application for a broadband connection.I felt as if i am applying for a ration card.Such an unprofessional attitude!

I think such a center should be closed down.
BSNL is although very poor in customer service, for the evdo card i got very good response from them. All some problem i had was some installation issues in vista and then few tweaks from www.bsnlevdo.in forums and things were rocking.. I suggest you bring this issue in public. You can also post to pgm cell
Its very slow in between 10 to 20 kbps.. And doesnt connect to the server.. Connects after approx 10 to 15 attempts.. The red color always beeps on the evdo card regardless it connected..

Can anyone help me to contact these bsnl people..
EVDO card is one of the excellent devices coming from BSNL. However, most of those in BSNL offices doesn't know anything about it though there are some technical engineers who could explain the services satisfactorily.
It is a device with which one could avail very high speed, provided BSNL is willing. They cannot claim that their technology is outdated now.
I am sure they can give uninterrupted & trouble free service satisfactory service even in 'Kerala' the land of dogs.

I agree completely with the complaint.The staff at BSNL do not care about the customers at all.It mostly appears that BSNL Management doesn't care about retirement age.Frankly the whole government services and associated enterprises follow the same logic.The reason people who are interested in services put up with this attitude because their are no other options.If someone from Airtel, Tata Indicom is reads this review you have a set of customers waiting to buy these services from you if you provide them soon.I hope now that some of these areas will come under Mr Jyothiraditya Scindia and the congress youth wagon they will put some processes in place before the govt completes its term.
I got a new EV-DO card and i am in a mess now. Its not connecting and if its connected(som how)browsing is impossible. Cant even thinkabt downloading.
Can someone give the customer care's number so that I can just call them up. I think I should discontinue this very soon.
My sister is posted in BSNL bhopal and taking care of EVDO services.It is very good in bhopal.I saw her talking with subscriber and solving their problem although she is Divisional engineer (Class one officer) she has visited to subscriber premises to check the coverage.I also am using the evdo of bsnl in Bhopal and speed is good enough, i got the speed even upto 1.4mbps.The usb device works on evdo when the green light blinks and if the orange blinks it works on 1X(144kbps).So i[censored] have any technical problem in EVDo card u can send the email to her.I am giving her mail Id
i am from kerala i had a speed of 100kbps for some time but since then it has come down to 5kbto 20kbps.today i contacted bsnl office(tech.section) they asked me to bring this to their office for checking. please mail me if anybody gets enough speed

I bought an EVDO card on 27th June 2007, after making a lot of enquiry about the speed and about the locations it was accessable... They (BSNL officials) promised me speeds of about 2mbps in EVDO locations and 144kbps in non-EVDO locations (they said it would give me atleast 56kbps). Now after purchasing the equipment (on out-right purchase) I'm having a very tough time with it. It neither keeps me connected atleast for an hour, nor gives me dail-up speed.. I had trouble with getting connected initially, after making a call to BSNL office it was cleared, but it never gives a consistent speed of even 25kbps.. it keeps fluctuating (very high fluctuations)... for loading a page like www.google.com, which t much content, it takes nearly a minute... I've made several visits to BSNL offices.. I even took my laptop and the EVDO card to a BSNL office to show them how it worked.. but with no proper solution.. I was told that most of the EVDO card users in Trivandrum have the same trouble at the moment and that it will be fixed soon.. and asked me to try using it for a week to see the difference in speed.. I'm fed up with this.. I'm planning to find a solution for this legally... any suggestion folks...??
ya d bsnl customer care is really fcking i had 2 ask abt d problem of static shared ip of evdo n d guys at customer care don knw wat an ip is.sm hav commentd here dat they get low speed bt i hav a constant speed of 150 kbps while dwnloading(movies etc)at nite i get speed even 2 mbps.may b bcoz my place is a remote region n d tower is just 100 mts frm my home

BSNL — Lack of respect to customer need

I have been struggling to get decent support for the DSL connection from BSNL in Bangalore but with no luck (one of the complaints is[protected]. It's been 2 weeks now since I lost the connectivity. I call the support number every day. When the technician comes on line he asks me the standard questions and then puts me on hold. They never come back after that most likely. If they come back, they have no solution. More often than not they tell me there's a temporary problem in the area I live in without making any attempts to troubleshoot.
Is there any way I can actually goto the call center and give them a piece of my mind? If not atleast give them coaching on customer support like what they do at Pizza hut!!!

I have been using the EVDO since almost one month.I am really frustrated using this EVDO service. EVDO service never works properly except one or 2 days of week. When this service works in 2 two days, it is taking lots of time to render webpage. I have complained about it. but always get answer we have problem in server. Really they are charing more than Rs.800.Its really costly option and not worth it.
