[Resolved] CESC Kolkata — electricity theft | |||
Dear Sir, This is with regard to electricity theft and high electricity bills by CESC ltd and inability to register a complaint online ( once u type ur complaint, the submit button doesnt work) and even at phone no-one picks up or when they pick up a consumer call, they disconnect it I am a working professional and reside at Flat no.11/05, tower 4 ruchira residensy, 369, purbachal,Kalitala Main road, Kolkata and my consumer number is [protected]. I suddenly started receiving very high power bills even though i am not there the whole day and in October I got an electricity bill of Rs. 2860 and the surprising fact was that i was out of station for 20 days while the month prior to that also i had a very high bill of Rs. 3500 approximately which are ridiculous for a single person who is not there the whole day. I wanted to register this complaint but on the phone , noone picks and when they pick, they disconnect. They have made a online section but very smartly once you press the button for "submit" it also doesn't work. Cleraly they avoid any complaint handling but are quick to serve disconnection notices. I was forced to pay Rs. 4410 as they threatened to disconnect the electricity and being a single working professional, i don't have the time to go and fight battles with them at their office premises and rest all options like phone and online are just for show. I need someone to address this issue as I am not getting even a way to lodge a complaint with this company. Kindly help. Dear Sir,
I stay at J-531 Pahar Pur Road, Banerjee Bagan, Kolkata - 700024. I would like to bring in your kind notice that in J-531 around 13-14 meter has been installed. I have noticed that after the meter reading has been taken by your representative every month 2 persons comes to the meter and they manipulate the meter. I have checked myself and notice that all the electronic meter shows red light in Phase and CAL but 2 meters shows green light on the same place and their display also looks yellowish.
I request you to please send your representative to have a check. Last reading was schedule on 8/11/2014 you can confirm from your representative he did not got the key to note the reading after that some people went on searching him and asked him to take the reading. This people has put lock on key in the meter room so that no body can have a check to their manipulation.
Yours immediate action will be in the benefit of CESC.

Electric Theft has been done from the sub meter of the main meter.
The user who is suspected for theft uses a heater, iron, 3 fans, fridge, lights and other electronic accessories still they are receiving a monthly bill of Rs.150 – 200 per month.
Whereas the Bill coming to ours is more than 1000.
I suspect they are breaking the meter and connecting it direct to the mains and using the current, which is a theft.
I live at their locality and we people are making this complaint about their theft, previously also they hooked current from main lines.
As a responsible citizen towards your organization I request you to take serious action against him.
Name of Suspect : SHIB NATH BISWAS

The local club Dada Bhai Sangha has decorated the whole area with led lamps and bulbs of 100-200 watt for Diwali festival and to reduce the decoration cost they are stealing the electricity to supply the above mentioned loads. The hooking is done just in front of the building 'Shamaresh Villa' of address 19/1, Sitala Mata Lane, Kolkata-700090.

RINKU, a Resident of alif nagar near maher manzil kolkata 24. THIS GUY SUPPLIES POWER TO DOZENS OF BUILDIND IN HIS AREA. FROM TOP TO BOTTOM CESC OFFICIAL ARE ALSO INVOLVED. STILL INDIA IS GREAT.
There are electricity thefts happening in the following address, will appreciate if appropriate measures are taken by relevant authorities by conducting a surprise check.
12/1, 46 Italgacha road, J.K Gardens Block C, B and A, Kolkata 700028. There is a local electrician whose name is Shankar, well known to the local people. Often he is been seen working and connecting wires on CESC meters which are located at gr floor of each block. It is apprehended that either he is stealing electricity from other meters at his own and others interest. Some random checks on these meters for the blocks mentioned above, might help your investigation. These kind of activities are taking place in the said premises for quite some time, it would be rather good if severe action involving punishment is rewarded to the person or people behind such maliculious deed, instead of just putting a fine.

Power theft by krishna kohar and his brother son of ramesh kohar residing at 150/2 south sinthi road, kolkata: 700050.Tapped and theft electricity from outside without any permission from landowner owing no cese meter, plot forcessfully occupied having no land paper neither having landowner permission, therefore we fear that any electrial hazard or accedent can occur in our above said premises, so we kindly request you to make an enquiry as early as possibly to prevent such accedent.
