Street Lights — non working of street lights

To whomsoever it concern, after several tele complaints street light department has not respond and rectified the lights and also the city market bus stop tower lights are not functioning. there is a urgent attention req and lot of nuisance happening there. pls do the needful.

I am one of the frequenters who uses chennai suburban train daily from central station. Thousands of people who commute in buses, private vehicles and also visit chennai from within and outside India daily, have to pass or cross poonamalee high road, i.e. from GH to Egmore side; Broadway/Paris to Mount Road side. While doing so people who wait/come/go to other places from the Park station or cross the bridge to go to Mount road had to suffer the stench/foul smell coming from cooum channel since many people urinate/defeacte there. It is difficult to stand there even for a few minutes. I on behalf of the people humbly request the concerned authorities to take necessary steps to clean the area which gives an adverse impression to not only chennaites but also people visiting from other places.

There are two street lights installed in Maroof Lane (Border thottam )Chennai - 600 002 and both the street lights are not working for more than 6 months. Our frequent complaints have not brought us any fruitful result. The entire street is dark because of which people from other area come to this street with liquor bottles, disposable glass with side dish and quench their thirst. The entire street has become like bar and there is no safety to residents of this street. Laying of new roads / relaying of existing ones are being done. I have noticed that most of the time the heavy machinery employed break or cut the existing water lines / EB lines /telephone lines and sewage lines multiplying the common man's problems and those of the civic authorities as well. When requested to attend there is a lot of grumbling and discontent and the workers rightly ask the wrong common man how many such problems can we go on attending? When sewege line leaks are not repaired and water leaks are also not attended to... there is contamination...water and sewage flows on the roads and there is a lot of problem after the rains not to mention mosquito bites, malaria, dengue, typhoid etc.Rain water harvesting turns into a tragedy since the water turns unpotable as well as it seeps through layers of sewage including chemicals used for washing and cleaning. All this is because the breakages are literally swept under the newly laid roads!! I shudder to have a look at the overall underground picture in Chennai City! There is open garbage above and closed filth below! Doesn't our city deserve something better from us?

We are citizens of 54 Erulappan Street, Sowcartpet, Chennai Inspite of complaints of blocked sewer line for a weak, the problem is still not resolved and keeps coming up every 2nd day after the clearnce. Can you please clear this once & for all.

Remember after doing birth control has blue cross taught the dog not to bite? So what Blue Cross does is not correct. There are more than 20 stray dogs in and around Olympia tech park, Sundhar Nagar, Guindy, Chennai 32, there must be more than 20 hostels in that area with close to 10, 000 employees from different states residing. These dogs tend to chase the vehicles that pass by. It creates a big nuisance in our area. There are many children playing in streets. I am residing at old no.13, T.P.Koil first lane, Triplicane, chennai 600 005. The water does not get
drained out in rains, in fact, rain water is not absorbed by drainage on road and drainage in houses
overflows because of that. Road is being flooded and the water enters into the houses because of
poor road system., i.e. roads were constructed in such a way that the level is up and entire water
enters into the house even for a 10 minute rain. we suffer a lot because, drainage is not absorbed
properly in the houses, during such times and also street water is also gushing into the houses.

Either additional drainage manhole is to be provided or the road should be laid properly. This year
laying of roads has not sofar been done. I request you to do the needful before the ensuing rain.

Roads are very worst in panchayat board bus stop area and oil mill stop area., Very hard to drive bikes cars and not even able to walk on rainy time, Govt started constructing road and they stop in middle, According to my knowledge roads are not all good for past 2 yr.

I have made complain to CM Cell vide ref 2015/847645/CF dated 25.10.2015. I am residing in Muthu Mohad street, Puzhuthivakkam., The waste water channel has been open in our entrance which is in Muthu Mohamad street. Now the said canal was enlarged to half of the road by corporation when the water was lagging whereby the connecting passage was broken and we are not able to come out of our house. The situation exists through out our Muthu Mohamad street. More than a month has passed when the residents have taken their vehicle out from our houses due to this open passage of waste water canal. There is no response from the corporation when we approach them in person. Is this the penalty imposed by the Corporation for a regular tax payer. We are the only street in our area where water logging was very much during the recent flood. It is purely because of Corporations action. We want immediate action to set right the canal in war footing time and help us to take the vehicles out from our houses. It is needless to mention that our support if need be at any time is available to achieve this. We are very much adjacent to Corporation building where officials can easily notice all the problems / problems known to all officials. We are aware that we cannot expect hi-tech city comforts but basic amenities can be furnished to residents. Pl do the needful.

once you get down from Pallikaranai flyover towards Tambaram, starting from Balaji Dental College till Medavakkam Junction there are lot of encroached petty shops, small houses, restaurants & buildings on both sides of the road. Actually it is 100 feet road (50 feet on both sides), now 20 ft on both the sides are completely encroached and now it is only acting as 60 feet road. This is causing heavy traffic during morning (8-11AM) and in evenings (6-8.30PM).

Every morning you can see lot of lorries carrying drinking water & sewage water. Do not know from where they are getting that much water & to where they are supplying it.

Government has to take immediate action on this encroachment.

We are living in South Kasarath tho tam st, Aminjikarai, Chennai -29. Here road cleaning is not good and also there is no dust bins near by. Please provide dust bins for each and every street, so that it is useful for all the street people. Because of this wastage in road, more mosquites are coming in the evening. Recently for corporation water, government people put the water pipe under the road. After that road is going under very worst condition. Its like 200% worst. Rain water is not going out. Its hanging here and there. We are not able to walk in that street. Water is hanging in all the places. Please make some arrangements for this problem. Here more childrens are living. Please take care.

I am living in Perambur Venus Market street for a long time now. There is a corporation girls higher secondary school in this street. Two Garbage bins are placed near the school and is causing a serious health hazard to the kids in the school. Also, garbage from the market (Could be wasted scraps from the butcher shop and fish market) is dumped in the bin which emits an unbearable odor. Children are finding it difficult to cross the bin and enter the school. Please take necessary action and remove these Garbage bins from the area.

we r from thananikachalam nagar kolathur residents, we r having some problem in clearing the septic tank since the government has undertaken the issue of drainage. they have dug the road everywhere n so we r having the problem in getting the septic tank cleared n moreover the private transports r ignoring to come n get things done for us . we r with this problem from past 2 months n havr been calling this people to do the favour but they say they will come but have not responded positiovely we have complained to madhavaram municipality, the sanitary officer say he will do it n send the minivan to clear it but till date we have not seen any remedy. for this we have spent so much in getting the road set right for this people to come with their vehicle but all in vain as they r just not ready to do anything .when it rains it becomes still more worse, there is lot of smell from this as it is leaking in the road, we r just having compliants from our neighbourhood.since kids n old people r there we r worried it would be disease causing, now also we r trying to this people but not yet come over the problem . it is a flat of 6 owners, all r trying but everything in vain.hope with this mail atleast some one would try n solve our problem by telling to the concerned authoritiers.

sir, In the recent elections it was wonderful to know that villivakkam is the largest constituency. But there it ends. I have been living here since the past 24 years and I have observed a steady progress and growth in this area. The number of multi story buildings in its rise, an high class theatre attracting new people, branded stores and many more... But amidst all this one thing that has been the consistent throughout two decades is the overflowing of drainage water. Whether it is a bright sunny day or the worst rainy weather the drainage continues to overflow. What is the point in promoting this area when the basic needs of a resident in not in place. With the population rise in this area, slowly it has become extremely difficult to even walk on the roads. Then imagine the trauma of people to walk on filthy drainage water filled roads.
I assume the Sewage department is well aware about the ill effects of such a scenario. And I wish necessary action is taken immediatelly. Here i would also like to add a suggestion, of deploying a machine operated or manual cleaning of all the manholes periodically once in 3 months. and secondly use appropriate chemical to break down the blockages and maintains a flow. I am sure if the Harrapans civilization could maintain an efficient drainage system why cant we in this 21st century.

This is ganesh from aynavaram ,(PE KOIL STREET). This is regarding complaint on the drainage system broken and not taken care for more than months(pls find attached). We have given complaints to corp. but still not responded properly. we request to escalate and give us solution.

In this my child was effected on a staph scaled skin syndrome and it effects his lungs too.

I dont know whether does it make any sense on booking a complaint in this site. However I need to highlight the atrocious behaviour by the Sewage cleaning company which is contracted for chennai municipal corporation.

I booked for sewage cleaning on my house on 1st week of December, they gave me some booking number which I missed. After few days I called the contractors for followup they simply told me without booking number they will not send any members and so I am forced to book one more time on 14th December. After following with the contractors for almost 13 times today they agreed to send a person.

I am working, so my mom was all alone in the house. we have 2 sumps, one is inside the house and another one outside the house (both inclusive of 500 liters only). The clearners cleaned the sump inside the house and refused to clean the one which is outside. They told a lame excuse that they cannot remove the stone which is placed on top of the sump and the sump is already over flowing. We literally begged and agreed even to pay Rs.100 additionally, however all invain. The cleaners thrown questions like "Do you want us to remove the stone from your drainge sump? and we cannot do anything other than just put the hose in the sewage tank". They charged a sum of Rs.750 for cleaning a small tank and complained for not paying tips.

I am not sure what sort of customer support is this? When the customer is ready to pay the compensation for just removing the stone, why can't the corporation ensures that customer needs are fulfilled? And why is such arrogant process is followed for every complaints we need follow the contracters for atleast 10 times or more and beg at them to clean the same. I'll be very happy if some action can be taken against these wreckless service. Thanks

I dont know whether there is any use in logging a compliant in this site. However I just want to highlight the atrocious behaviour by sewage cleaning contractors towards customers in Madhavaram Area. I reside in vinayagapuram which comes under madhavaram municipality and sewage contracts are given to "Sagayamatha transport".

Whenever we book a complaint for cleaning sewages, we are getting extremly poor response. whenever we book a complaint they are giving a booking number, however every week we need to follow to get a proper response.

I booked a compliant on 1st week of Dec to clean my septic tank. When I called them by 10th they said they will send a person by next day, but asusal they didn't. I called them by 14th again by the time I misplaced the complaint number and they simply told me that I am lying and they cannot send anyone. I am forced to book a new complaint again. They didnt turn up till 20th, I went searching them street after street and got the supervisor (charles), however he simply said there are lots of calls and we'll send you when your turn comes.

I waited for one more week, today I agained called up Charles, then he sent a guy. By yesterday my tank was full and started spilling out. I have 2 tanks, one inside the house and another one outside the house.

The cleaning guy came and removed the one which is inside and he refused to clean up the one which is outside. He stated "the tank is over spilling and I cannot remove the stone which is at top of the tank" I am working and my mother alone was in the house. We are even ready to pay Rs.100 as compensation to remove the stone from top of the tank. But the cleaner thrown answers like, "I cannot touch any tank because few water is there, you better move yourselves and show me the place to clean?" He hurried my mom and got the money (literally robbed) and flew away. I was making around 20 calls to the supervisor and he cooly stated he'll see anything can be done.

I paid Rs.750/- for cleaning just 200 litres of sewage and two tank capacity is around 500 litres only. My question is who will be the correct person to escalate and take appropriate action? Why cleaners are so wreckless on helping customers even if the customers are ready to pay a huge sum for their service (Rs.100 for removing a stone which is wet due to overspilling is not good enough?)

Here we are facing drainage blocks and overflows are very frequent, we use to complaint so respected workers will clear the same but the same issue again happens on the same day, this process been continues for past 5 years, now it became everyday basis..due it this streets are filled with drainage water mosquitoes and other flies are making our lives miserable, used water stagnant in each of the house.
This drainage issue because of very old drainage system its more than 50 yrs old. in regard We complaint our area councilor and respected departments earlier too.. Kindly look into this serious issue and provide us a permanent solution.

We are residing in Chellaperumal Street near Vanandurai TM Maistry street Door No door NO 5 & 7 Anandanilayam flats chellaperumal street thiruvanmiyur chennai 600041.

The drainage water is overflowing in our area and we have given several complaints and they have attended to it but despite their cleaning there is no solution. Every time we ask they keep saying there is some problem in the pumping station in Indira nagar once the same is resolved it will be ok.

This has become a daily routine for us to call them and make them clean. The water is just stagnant and all the drainage water is getting accumulated in front of our house and we are unable to even move out of our house.

since the water is stagnant we have mosquitos problem.

I am living in 53/3, Panjali Amman koil street, Arumbakkam, Chennai - 600 106 . which is a very 3 feet small street . In this space next to my house holding 20 and plenty of cows . Due to this, that small street is very worst o[censored]nwanted wastage, water leakage, they also misusing the government drainage for the cow wastage and other etc., also government pump is also in this small 3 feet street . Because of all these our street people facing so many diseases like cholera, typhoid, fever, etc., please visit our street and take severe action to remove all these unwanted things and make a keep and clean chennai city.

Dear Sir,
I am Sripriya. B residing at 62/A, Madhava Nagar, Fourth street, Pelavarai, Kolathur Post, Chennai - 99. The resident opposite to our house has a tennats of four families and they are running out their sewage water into the street. They built a smal construction on the road and letting the sewage water on it. It is overflowing and flowing on the roads. Due to this, we are into a trouble of mosquitoes and bad smell. We are having infants at home and the kids are loving to play on the roads. As the road is blocked with the sewage water, we are into lots of troubles. Even we have a tuitition center nearby and lots of children are crossing this water. Eventhough Chennai corporation has taken a good measure of relieving chennai from dengue by giving the medicines on the stroage water without any fail, these kind of bad manners of residents nearby, making all the efforts as waste. We advised the resident so many times not to do like this, but they are not ready to listen. We do not want to make a complaint as we don't want to spoil the relationship. But now the things are going out of control and its is making our life miserable.

Please take the necessary action.

Since long time we are facing drainage as well as Mosquito's problem in our area.

Can you please help us in spraying the Mosquito Medicine & closing the drainage in our area? We can save many children and adults from causing diseases. We have already registered complaints but no action have been taken place. Request you to help us in this situation.

That Small Accident happen last week due to this Sewage Water. So kindly take Action From Bad Small And Diseases causes of Drainage Leakage water. Some time traffic also Happen... For the past three days, Main drainage in the street was blocked. So we get the drainage water back in to our house only. It is down to the road level. Kindly i request you to take immediate action to clear the main drainage block in the street as well as at our home. Please consider this complain with high priority and do the needful ASAP.
