[Resolved]  Chennai Mrts - Southern Railway — Parking Overcharges

Dear Sir,

At Chindadripet railway station, the contractor named Vijayalakshmi is doubly charging the passengers for parking. When asked they are replying arrogantly.And not even maintaining the parking area.The contractor must be punished heavily and the contracts should be canceled.

The Passengers of the Chindadripet railway stations are very angry with the contractor and Needs the Railway Authorities to take action against them.

Even i use chintadripet railway station.. Each o[censored]s should call the Railway Public Grievance Number and register a complaint..[protected]
This is ramesh from icf i want to complaint from korattur railway station collecting tomuch of parking charges i am park in the night 9pm again 9am i gating my vehicle but token charge 5rupees he's hasking 10 Rupees for Evening and morning Mr.Ayyanar Contracter this charges collecting from past 6 month. so kindly take immediate action.i am waiting for your reply. so plaese kindly o this needfuly

I am using the MRTS - Velachery to Beach Train for the Last 10months ;
The Train facility and timings are too good and really helping all people, and the police co-operation is also good and wonderfull,
But only the Parking Area and parking contract is not good,

The Charges are too high for car and the response is also not good,
There is no closed parking there but they are charging around 10Rs for 4hours for a car and for one night it is 50Rs . First thing is Velachery railway station is out of city and more space is there for parking freely ; i dont think they are spending more money for maintanence and all ; so from S, railway side they need to reduce the car parking price and which should be economical as compared to other form of travelling mode. So the railway is responsible to check the turn over for the contractor and reduce the price accordingly . Now i am thinking to give a complain to a station master also on the same, but i dont know practically how much it is possible.

****30cars * Avg 12hrs need to pay = Rs 900 .day ( 10 Rs for each 4hrs for day time and 50Rs for night time)

****2000 Bikes * 4Rs each = 8000

So approximately 10, 000 is the perday collection and 3Lakhs is the monthly collection. Which is going to the contractor on every month. In this we need to think the place is provoided by government not by the contractor but he is earning around 2Lakhs per month, is this a healthy way of good govt !!!


People shoud think and take necessary action to avoid this because this is same for all the stations in chennai around 30 stations .
Hi People,

I have a long standing complaint agsinst the Velachery MRTS parking lot contractor and the people working him for arrogant behaviour and use of obsence words and comments against the Women commuters who park their vehicles there.


If there are people who face the same issue, please add your responses in this forum for us to pull together some legal action against the contractor.


I also beleive those affected like me, can call the Railway Public Grievance Number and register a complaint..[protected]

Southern Railway — parking charges

Madurai Junction. Parking charges displayed on board- Rs.5/- per hour. Amount collected Rs. 10/- for less than one hour. I have enclosed the parking receipt also. why this discrepancy?

The Chennai MRTS is getting crowded everyday. The number of people using this service is ever increasing. Requesting to make all 6-car trains to 9-car trains. This will ease the crowd before someone dies.
Also, the MRTS stations are very dirty and stinks all the time. There are stray dogs which may get violent sometimes. In the issue of public safety and hygiene the officials must take the responsibility to have the stations cleaned regularly and make it safer.
The parking area at Taramani railway station has been shifted from its earlier place to near by the station. The problem is due to the poor maintenance of road and lack of proper lighting, it is very difficult to the road users to drive, especially the bikers. Lot of pot holes and water stagnation could be found at the station road. It will be very helpful for the users, if the parking area remains at the earlier place at least till the end of rainy season...Sunil Kumar, Thoraipakkam.
The car parking area in chindadaripet is very high. While Thirumyali is charging at Rs 15/4 hours, chindarapetai one is charging at the rate of 15/hour...attrocious I would say.The contracter finally settled for rs 60 for 10 hours. I wasn't even provided a closed parking facility
Taramani Railway station parking charge for bikes rs.10 but other stations only rs.5.ant poor maintenance over dust in the parking area.

Parking rates are double, triple even five times in almost all Railway stations in TN including Madurai. Even vehicle going for drop and pickup are not excused. DAY TIME OPEN ROBBERY/Corruption. No control. This happens only in this state. Instead of putting these complaints here pl follow it in social network sites like face book. Let the authorities take some action if they have little bit shame.

I am commuting via Taramani railway station to Beach station by early morning train which is at 5.05 daily, during this time it would be very helpful if we have the escalators on. To reach the station most of the corporate workers around the Taramani station are walking approximately 1.5 kms to reach the station after that climbing two storeys is being very tedious, Hence We are requesting to Switch on the escalators by 5.00 am. Please Consider and do the needful.

I am a senior citizen. On 26.10.2015, I boarded Beach to velachery MRTS train at Adyar by about 6.55 p.m. The train was late and people were packed like sardines, and with great difficulty I got into the first coach, entrance adjacent to pilot's cabin, and was standing close to the entrance in view of the crowd.
. Naturally when the train reached Tiruvanmiyur station, I had to alight on platform to give way to passengers getting down. There were a lot of IT/general passengers getting down. Before they get down, the train pilot started the train and I and 5, 6 passengers who got down to make way for alighting passengers could not board the train and wre left on platform high and dry. We had to wait once again to catch the next train.

I condemn the high-handed attitude of the Pilot in his failure to watch even the entrance just behind his back and sped off without any concern. Thomas
