[Resolved]  Citibank — MY NAME HS BEEN PUT UP IN CIBIL EVEN AFTER PAYING THE FULL AMOUNT AS PER THE SETTLEMENT LETTER

CITI BANK IS VERY DISHONEST AND CHARGES ILLEGALLY HUGE AMOUNTS OF INTERESTS, LATE PAYMENTS, SERVICE CHARGES ETC.FIRST THEY CLOSE AN ACCOUNT AND THEN ON TOP OF THAT THEY VERY DISHONESTLY CHARGES INTERESTS ON THE CLOSURE AMOUNTS. ANYWAY MY COMPLAIN IS THAT MY CARD ACCOUNT IS [protected]. AND I HAVE CLOSED MY CARD ACCOUNT ON 21.02.2008 BY PAYING THE FULL AMOUNT OF RUPEES NINETY THOUSAND IN ONE SINGLE AMOUNT BUT STILL MY NAME HAS BEEN PUT UP IN CIBIL FOR HARASSING ME . I REQUEST CITI BANK TO DELETE MY NAME FROM CIBIL IMMEDIATELY. MY EMAIL ID IS [protected]@yahoo.co.in and my mobile no is [protected] and i would also like to request to all concerned that this CIBIL is being used by bank in a negative manner by dishonests bank to extort money from customer by blackmailing them by putting their name on CIBIL falsely even after paying the full amount as per the settlement letter. i would also like to request RBI to monitor this CIBIL as banks are using this inaccesible site for blackmailing customer into paying illegal charges in order to clear their name from CIBIL. Citi send us a statement after several years of not using their card stating we had a $20 credit. After receiving this a second month, I used the card to make a $50 purchase and then received a bill for $55 with no mention of the previous two months credits of $20.
I paid it and then received a bill for $71.30, paid that and am now receiving harassing phone calls and bills ranging from $17 to $47?!?!
No reply to letters concerning this matter although I did get a letter telling me I must request a form to cancel this account. I did that, got the form, mailed it in and the bills still continue to come with phone calls.

As an ex employee of Citibanks credit card division in South Dakota, I can tell you, we routinely sat on card payments for several days just to make them late. They would sit for sometimes 7-10 days in our payment facility just so we could triple your interest rate and charge you an insane late fee. I was terminated shortly after I wrote the South Dakota Attorney General's office reporting this illegal practice.


Do NOT DEAL WITH CITI CARD.
i have given the total amount which i have to give but now also citi bank has put up my namein cibil.
now according to bank my remaining balance is 1624 and in order to remove my name from cibil i like to pay the remaining balance and now i would like to ask citi bank that where should i give the money and how.

I had 3 credit cards. I am a resident of Nashik since 1999. At that time there was no collection centre in Nashik for citi bank. Whenever I paid them they used to charge 100/- outstation cheque charges and also were adding interest on that. Inspite of complaints they did not care. When I stopped payment, they came for sttlement. An amount of 15000/- was agreed which I agreed to pay in two instalments. This was 2 yrs back. I paid 5000/-. With in 15 days i arranged for balance 10000/-. I called them to come and take the payment and issue me a letter but they did not turn up. I called thrice in the mobile no. of Mr. Shinde, the Nashik agent.
Now they have put my name in cibil. This is not fare. They should immediately remove my name from cibil and take the money and sttle my account.
