[Resolved]  Citibank Credit Card — Credit Card Settlement

Dear Sir,

I am Citibank credit Card Holder and have my salary account also with Citibank itself. the mail below gives you the complete history about the issue and request for help shared with Citibank Officials.

But nobody seems to respond.

Last Month they blocked My Debit Card so that I cant withdraw my salary from the salary account.

Though i am repeatedly requesting Citibank to get this payment collected, nobody seems to respond.

Month end is nearing and I am worried if they will completely block my card.

Please Help.

Hi Ms. Sudhakar/Mr.Ribeiro,

I have been waiting for a reply for this mail. I didn’t know that Citibank would deal with its customers in such a way. I am very upset about the same. I thought that Citi wanted to get the payment from me. Now I feel, that was not at all the part of the agenda. Now the case is that I am sitting here with the money and cheques and nobody seem to be interested.
I personally don’t know on what I am supposed to do for the same.

PLEASE HELP.
With Best regards,
Vinish Soman

Dear Ms. Sudhakar,

Have you really read the mail I sent you???
I am trying to explain to you that I can’t Deal with Mr. Kumar on[protected] because on his unprofessional behavior over the last 2 conversations that I had with him . I am more than Happy to close this card with Citibank, but I want to talk to somebody who understands that I am a Citibank customer, and there is some manners that needs to be shown when talking to a customer, or leave customer, when talking to a human being.

When I spoke to Mr. Kumar on 18th feb and informed him that I can initiate the card closure process by Monday, as I was short of funds that day the reply I got was ‘Beg, Borrow or steal…I don’t care’
I too come from a Customer service background and I understand that you too are from Collections, When was that you have ever spoken to an existing Citibank customer in such a rude and unprofessional way.

In My conversation I never said that I don’t have money to pay my dues. I told him clearly That I won’t be able to make the payment on 18th itself due to insufficient funds but assured him that I will get the credit card closure done on Monday the 23rd itself.

When I had adequate money with me to make the payment I had contacted you on 30th Jan making clear that my intention is to close this card, Nobody responded.
Now I talk to Mr. Kumar on 16th Feb and he informs that the last date to make the payment is 18th Feb., How can you expect me to make the payment immediately. I just asked for 5 more days for me to get this card closed.

I have clearly explained in the 1st conversation that I had with Mr. Kumar on why the payment was not made properly in the last 5 months. Mr. Kumar claims that all calls are recorded, so I would suggest to listen to the calls and then decide.

But I don’t Want to Talk to somebody who has insulted me and hurt me emotionally. I Know That I owe money to Citibank, But I didn’t run away anywhere. I didn’t change my number. I didn’t change my company. These are things that people would do, if they have no intention of paying the money. I didn’t do any of these.
Yes, I know, You couldn’t reach me coz the nature of Job I was doing earlier changed drastically and I was in no position to answer your calls during my work hours.

I am again and again re-iterating I am more than willing to go for a closure for my Card. I will have the cheques and money ready on Monday, 23rd Feb, 2009.
I WILL NOT DEAL with Mr. Kumar Again for my Credit Card Closure. I am ready to talk to anybody from Citibank regarding the same and get this Credit Card Closed.

And I want an Assurance from your end that once the Credit Card closure process is done, I don’t want any third party, including other departments of Citibank accessing my account and disabling my Debit card.

Please Read My Mail At least this time before you send me a reply

With Best regards,

Hi Ms. Sudhakar,
As you are the only Official contact person from Citibank whom I am aware of and As informed by Kumar that you are from the Credit Collections, I would like to inform about the course of events that happened in the past couple of Days.
On Saturday, 14th of Feb, I was able to talk to Mr. Kumar on the number mentioned by you at[protected], after a long wait for your reply on my Mail.

Mr. Kumar seemed to be very helpful in the first conversation that I had with him on Saturday. He gave me options to close the card. I was really happy and relieved that I will get this issue resolved with him.
I promised him a call back on Monday on details about how I can make the payment.
As promised I spoke to Mr. Kumar on Monday post 6 pm and informed him that I might have a concern to start the process for closing my card as I had financial Concerns in the month of March.
Mr. Kumar also informed that if I did have a concern making the payment next month, I can go for 2 installment of 4000 each for the month of Feb and March and they I can go ahead with the process of Closing the Card.
On Monday, during this conversation, suddenly Mr. Kumar informed that the Last Day when I should make a payment is on 18th Feb i.e. TODAY.
Today I spoke to Mr. Kumar and informed him that I will go with the Closing of the card this month itself and that I will be able to make the payment on coming Monday (23rd Feb) itself as right now I was short of funds. I assured him that I will provide him the 1st installment in Cash and remaining in 11 post dated Cheques.
Mr. Kumar spoke in a very unprofessional manner to me today. I, over and over again asked him to talk to me properly. As Mr. Kumar was not ready to listen to me and was going on and on in his rude way of talking, I was forced to disconnect the call from my end.
During the Conversation with Mr. Kumar, I insisted that I would like to talk to any Citibank official so that I explain the same to them and get help from them but Mr. Kumar informed that he is from the legal department and that he will be the Single Point of Contact for me and that Nobody in Citibank will be able to Help Me.
As I do understand that you are with Citibank, and with Credit Card collections, I am requesting Help from your end regarding this Credit Card Closure.
I would not like to either contact or be contacted by Mr. Kumar for this Credit Card Closure. If You cannot call me, Please Provide your contact number to me or any Citibank official who can help me in this regard.
Please reply to at least this mail of mine as this is the third mail I am sending you, and I have never got any replies to my mail till date.
Awaiting Your reply at the Earliest.
With Best regards,
Vinish Soman

Hi Ms. Sudhakar,
Thanks for Your Mail. As Suggested by you, I have been trying to reach
you at[protected], but nobody is answering the call on this number.
I also would like to close this Credit Card. I work from 9am to 6pm
Monday to Saturday. I usually try calling you guys post 6 pm, and had
no luck. I had contacted Citifone also to get the number for your
department. The number provided to me was[protected]. The result is
the same. Either the number is Busy or there is no answer. If somebody
could contact me post 6pm or if that is not possible you can try
reaching my wife on her number [protected].between 9am-6pm on weekdays.
I have been making my payments correctly all this while. Its only for
this last 7 months that i had to hop around from blore to chennai for
my job that i couldnt make the payment for my Credit Card.
I was very upset to see that my Salary Account was accessed by 3rd
Party and Debit Card was blocked from withdrawal.
I am very upset the way Citi has handled and played around with my
SALARY Account for an issue with the Credit Card.
WE DONT WANT ANY COMMUNICATION FROM ANYBODY VIA EMAIL OR PHONE WHO IS
NOT A CITI BANK EMPLOYEE.
WE DONOT WISH TO TALK TO A 3RD PARTY COLLECTION AGENT WHO WORKS FOR
CITI BANK.
Expecting a reply on the same.

Citibank/Credit card — Final settlement

I m holding the citi bank credit card I m requesting for final settlement of my account from last 60 days but till date I m no getting any confirmation apart of that my charges are growing after several follow-up so pls help to get it close.
I have settled my outstanding on the card as full and final on24/08/05 for Rs 14000/- which was not updated in banks system and it was put on CINIL site which has downgraded my credit worthiness.I am a senior citizen iam badly in need of money for day to day livelyhood for which i have applied for reverse morgage loan . which was rejected because of this, kindly do the needful.
First thing the citibank should come forward with the tollfree no so that waiting response in a long Q on STD calls makes the customer not only irritating and the charges of phone calls even exceeds the amt due to citibank. The citibank has to furnish the email ids for settlement, complaints and forclosure so that thecustoers need not thrown pillar to post by SO CALLED CUSTOM! SERVICE
Hi,
