[Resolved]  Citibank Credit Card — reversal of interest, late payment charges, service tax, overdue amount .....

Dear Sir,
I have been using citibank card since last few years. We are paying on an average about rs[protected]/- every month as bill amount. last month we had to pay 3000 rs. We had delivered the cheque in the drop box near our office as usual. Some how cheque is misplaced and hasn't reached citibank.
They have levied interest charges, late payment charges, service tax, overdue charges in total about 2300/- rs. They have charged interest charges even on current months amount even though i have not even received the bill yet. We were told on the phone that in case of late payment interest is also charged on the amount of current month.
In spite of my sincere request to reverse this charges we were bluntly told NO. I have discontinued my card from today itself.
I am totally aggrieved with number of conversations i had with several persons on citibank customer care number. It was just a mistake and mere amount of 3000 rs on which they have levied so much amount of panelties and we were forced to discontinue with the card. This month itself we had bought a dell laptop using citibank credit card. We really like the card but not after such a bad experience.
Can you provide any kind of help or suggestions for the same?

Citibank Card — Unresponsive bank

I recd a citi card with my shopper stop card , which I wasnt using since I have cards which I have been using for years now without any trouble .When I wasnt using the card, i recd a couple of calls from the citi card dept on the points and rewards wud recieve on using it , then one day unfortunately on one of my impluse shopping spree i used the card, for a small amount if Rs 4500/- approx, since I wasnt carrying cash. Well i can today tell you that I made a terrible mistake using it.This was in sept'07

I didnot recive any bill for the expenditure made , in the mean time I travelled abroad and used it for my hotel bill payment in oct'07 . Even when I returned from my trip I didinot hear anything from them .

I then called the citibank dept and asked for y I wasnt recieving any bills and upon enquring got to know that as per them i have been receiving sms's when i checked the number it was wrong and likewise for the address mentioned in the records .

I got the same rectified and the CCE stated that since I the fault was of the bank , i wont be charged . well that was that .Only after that did i recieve the duplicate bill of the 1st transaction .The mistake i did was not to take the name of the CCE i spoke to and the date i spoke to .

But since i wanted it in writing , I wrote a mail to them and from then on its a series of mails starting from Nov19'07 onwards till date wherein , they ar'nt ready to accept the fact that i didnt receive the bills . I asked them to give me the POD for the bill .. but guess what they are silent in that area!!!..well looks like this bank particulary belives that they are always right. Incidentally this is the only bank which is in news for all the wrong reasons ... well ironic ??..

All that they have done is allot a new customer complaint number to the mail everytime you write to them . They never have a name to the mail its alwyas signed as mager customer care , I need to ask these guys dont they have a name ??

and honestly speaking I have used all sorts of cards possible but havent ever experienced such a bank , where you keep repeating the same thing over and over again to the bank and they keep answering in the same tone , as if its auto drafted message , which is given to all sorts of complains coming in .

They reversed the late fees charges , but there is a interest charges, which is like 1400 + for a bill of less than 4500/-, I am tired of explaining them the issue over and over again. though in all the series of mails that I have exchanged with them , they havent bothered explaining as to what these charges stand for it since the charges stste interest p.a.... any ideas ??

I will also like to point out here is that it was me who called up to check as to why I wasn't receiving any bills for the transactions made instead of somebody from their staff/ dept .

Do u think it makes sense writing to Ombusdsperson?? any ideas ??

Citibank Card — reversal of charges

This is in reference to the mails marked earlier regarding the Personal Accident Premium and Credit Shield Plus Premium been debited in card no [protected] & [protected] and again I have been informing you not to levy these charges and to much of my surprise you have again debited these charges across both my cards.
It is my humble request to you to reverse these charges at the earliest and confirm and in the future refrain from charging these charges and in absence of the revert from your end will now take this up with the Consumer Court as have the mails marked to your id even after which there has been no corrective action from your end.
Kindly reverse the charges at the earliest and confirm.
payment to indian rail is not authorising.customer care executive mr. sandeep is not taking pain to solve the problem

Citibank — Sent 13 Reminders for closing the current account and request of reversal of service charges

This is in continuation of our several reminders regarding the closure of our Current in Punjabi Bagh Branch. Through our several letters Dt[protected],[protected],[protected],[protected],[protected], 25-05-05,[protected], 13-08-05, 24-09-05,[protected],[protected] &[protected]copies enclosed), we have completed all the formalities for closing the above said amount. But it is very surprising that instead of closing our account they are deducting service charges from our account and the same is still active.

In this regard we have made several telephone calls to their customer department and written several letters also, but no response was received from other side. Failing to which, we personally visited the branch yesterday i.e 09-07-08 and met Ms.Simi. She attended to us and listen our complaint very patiently. She also assured us to help and get the needful done.

Now please close our account and kindly refund the balance amount and the charges along with service tax w.e.f. July 2005 till date, amounting to Rs.27627.08, which you have wrongly debited in our account despite of the several requests/reminders for closure of our current account.

Citibank — deduction of personal loan EMI despite closure of personal loan


i am amit kumar, since almost 45 days i am struggling to get the refund of my money from citi bank.which citi bank had deducted from my personal sb a/ against loan a/c no. is L55-C[protected] which was already closed by citi bank .

Citibank — Interest and Late Payment fees

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Ashish Waghela. I hold a Credit Card of Citibank since last two to three years,

My Credit Card Statement of the period 12/02/2009 to 13/03/2009 due's on 06/04/2009 Rs. 2749.66/-. I Had dropped the cheque no 327219 at Kandivali (West) S. V. Road ATM Center of Citibank on 04/04/2009 and the same cheque has been cleared on 09/04/2009 but in the next statement for the period 13/04/2009 to 13/05/2009 the cheque had got cleared on 13/04/2009 as per Citibank’s statement. I had contacted Citibank’s officer twice regarding this matter, but as per banks officials my cheque has got cleared on 13/04/2009 that is why they charged Interest and Late payment fees.

I had provided them the confirmation mail from IndusInd Bank regarding cheque clearance and requested them to reverse the charges but no positive action has been taken yet.

Please let me know the solution soon.

Citibank — charging wrong overdue amount

i paid all my dues on my credit cards and sqared off my loans.In 2004 i paid Rs.40400/-through cheque of loan however the bank instead o[censored]tilising that amount to sqare off my loans adjusted aganst the new insurance policy,which i did not receive till date.i am explaining them this since 2004 but not a single communication from them,but i get bills after adding interest and penalties to the said amount.Top of that they put my name in CIBIL becuuse of which i could not get new loan.i have all the documents regarding it.i have mailed,registered A.D.has been sent,visited their collection department but of no use.Every time i narrate them story and the answer i get is "we will look into the matter"i am so frustrated that i have stopped communicating them.but i really want that my name should be removed from CIBIL as its not my fault.the bank is unnecesarily damaging my credt rating.
my monthly EMI is Rs-3541/- for 36 months my due date is 30th of every month but last month they received a cheque just after 1 day of my due date
so can u say me what will be the charges for just 1 day late

Credit Cards Full and Final settlement

I have tried last 15 days to contact city bank employee to make full and final settlement but no one replay to me. I really forested with the city bank service. Please do the need full. B.N. DWIVEDI [protected]
