[Resolved]  Cordlife — poor service by Cordlife

Address:Bangalore, Karnataka

Hi everybody,
I would like to inform you all expected parents that the post service of this company is not satisfactory, and pertains to a really simple issue that Cordlife employees could have easily resolved. As per the contract, the sales executive mentioned that Cordlife will collect the blood sample at the time of delivery and they will send the sample to Lab for processing and preservation, After that they will provide a blood and tissue preservation certificate within 35 days to confirm that the sample was in order. Firstly the sample was not collected on time, they came late after 35 mins of delivery. luckily the doctor helped and collected the blood and secondly we dint received the preservation certificate till now. Every time we called up with Cordlife customer service, we were given the same answer "We will raise this issue with the concerned person who will give you a the correct response. We are yet to receive the report even though it's been more than 3 months now. I dont know whether they have tested the sample or not.
they cheated me by telling that they collects 100 to 110 ml of blood at the time of delivery using 250 ml blood bag. the blood volume was 65 ml. when i asked them they changed the sentence and said this is the average volume.
because my baby's stem cells are still with them( even i dont know whether they have stored it or not), i am not able to provide the UIN number or my contact no.
do proper verification before giving your baby's stem cells to them. they are playing with the emotions of the expected parents.

How do we trust you as you are not ready to reveal any of your identity. Secondly if you have problem why dont you go ahead & lodge your complain at [protected]@cordlifeindia.com. they take corrective action immediately. because the mails are read by G.M, N.S.M and M.D of CordLife
If you cannot mention your UIN number or contact number then how can any one tust you that you are a client and how come you get to know that the blood sample was 65 ml when you your self are saying that you have not received any reports why dont you post the clients name ...
secondly no one gets to know their UIN number untill an unless they have received any reports which again as per you, you have not received
so i dont think that this comment of yours make any sense
Dear Folks,

Dont believe this complaint as Mr. Prakash is from Lifecell International. Pls check the customer complaints on Lifecell, you will realise that Mr. Prakash with the same user id has given response to the complaints of customers of Lifecell international. The date is also same as May 15, 2011.

I was looking to store the stem cells with lifecell for my baby but now i am not comfortable looking at the unethical practice lifecell has adopted for malligning other company. Also look at the responses Mr. Prakash has posted against compaints for life cell international - contact customer care. We all know that..
I am not necessarily agreeing with Prakash here. My experience with Cordlife has also been bad.
My Baby's sample was taken for preservation but later Cordlife came back and told that the sample was contaminated and hence does not qualify for storage. There was no specific reason given as to why the sample was contaminated. They sent me a consent letter to sign so that they can refund the storage amount. It took more than 3 months to get my refund. The refund amount was also 50% less, as per them 50% amount is deducted as processing fees. I am not worried about the money that I lost. My purpose was to have my sons stem cells stored for future, that purpose itself is not met. This was once in life opportunity for me which I have lost.
I would suggest any future parents to evaluate the sample rejection ratio before making any commitment to go with Cordlife.
Really Sorry i disagree with the statement that Cordlife has poor services because i have enrolled with them and have never gone through such issues. I would like to suggest that in India Cord life is the only ethical stem cell Bank with the best quality according to the International best practices and services. I have also gone through their reports which they have sent me after processing its one of the clear and finest reports fully detailed with graphical representations along with UIN number. But i have gone through all of the other companies they are not at all so clear and not giving any reports which are so specifically detailed
I diagree because Cordife is the only company present which are keeping there promises... Inspite of focusing on celebrities they are focusing on technology and Quality.
Our experience with CordLife India was extremely bad. We were enrolled to Cordsure Explant Flexi[protected] Rs).The issue started after cordlife representative collected the blood sample on delivery 09/10/2011.
During there pre-joining presentation it was said that they will give reports within 3 months after delivery, but we didnt receive any kind of report till February. We ourselves started following it with the customer care and the relationship managers, but all the time the answer was given that they will check with concerned department and get back to us. Surprisingly, they took 2 months (April 2012) to send us a email with a small 2-page report and consent letter stating that the cord blood was contaminated with bacteria and fungus. It was bad to know that. The report showed that the amount of cord blood collected was just 37ml as against >100ml as they told in presentation. So obliviously, we decided not to continue with the cord blood storage as it was widely read on internet that contaminated blood can be very rarely used in transplant plus the amount was also less.
When we contacted the CordLife customer care seeking info on termination of contract and what they said was something unexpected. In May 2012, they asked us to pay 55000 Rs towards processing fees. Such fee was not communicated to us neither in pre-joining presentation nor in the contract. We kept chasing Cordlife customer care both in India and Singapore to get more clarity on such fees and why such amount was not clearly mentioned in the contract. Its July 2012 and we are still waiting for response...this is something really bad that could happen with parents which look forward for such facility of cord blood storage as a medium to secure child's future. But it seems this is not the case the way Cordlife has treated it. We strongly suggest to expectant parents to think atleast 10 times before taking further steps with such companies and get things cleared at very first instance because the experience you may get after joining will not necessarily be good.
Hi,
Recently we preserved cord blood stem cell with cordlife(15th aug 2012). In our case, customer service is good nurse came on time collected the blood and left. Now, i even received certificate related to quantity of cells preserved etc If you need any info, you can mail to my personal mail id [protected]@hotmail.com. All the best for new parents...
Chose cordlife as suggested by our doctor. 2 guys came to our place and gave an wonderful presentation. Our baby was delivered last month through C section and the cordlife people came on time and got the sample collected on time. We were really impressed so far. However we realised that we were with some totally amateurish hands after one week only. These people started calling me up for the payment, whereas it was already agreed upon that they will collect the payment from the hospital where the baby was delivered, as it was a tieup hospital of my company and my company had by then paid the entire hospital expenses + the cordlife fees to the hospital. The cordlife representatives themselves had informed me before going for their service that, they will directly collect the sum from the hospital as they too have a tieup with them. Then started a new trouble... These people started calling me saying that they have got the money but as the hospital has deducted TDS I have to pay them the difference amount of 10, 000/- then only they will be able to process my agreement copy. They were even trying to negotiate that amount to 2, 000/- as well, as if were in some vegetable market! They were interestingly asking me to go to the hospital, if I could negotiate it myself with them. My question is, when the entire fee of 95, 000/- is already reimbursed (without any discount) by my company, it should be between you and the hospital as to how you workout the payment amongst yourself (Its your tiedup hospital, as claimed by yourself only before I went ahead for your so called world class service). Why should I be involved in here? When I refused all these, today, even after passing of almost 2 months since the baby was delivered, I'm still waiting for my cordlife agreement to arrive. I dont know whether it will arrive or to expect the worst, whether they stored the stem cell of my baby properly, in the first place! if this is the way you handle your clients, especially when you claim to be a world class company? Now I'm contemplating going to the consumer court. Please suggest.
We dealt with Cordlife for the first time. The lab in Kolkata 24 Paraganas is small with a few handy people as staff. Cleanliness and Hygiene was not upto the mark and we could see cigarette buds in the garden of the lab, thrown by the security guards/watchmen. Moreover, the promises made by the seller are sweet and attractive, but after you become a member, they suddenly start showing their true colors. They forget their promises. They will lure you saying they will give you gifts. they will also lure you saying that they will provide you with referral commission which can save your money. But none of that happens. however, this might be the case with all companies, who knows?
Yes, service is extremely poor... and the way their team speaks is also very bad. Feeling like cheated & event they didn't bother to address the issues after so much complaints
A non trust worthy company for sure. They do not posses a after sales service. Try connecting to after sales service and you will know what I am saying.

One of the worst and fraudster organisation. Customer care is of no use. Once you give the initial money and sign the agreement then you have to just run behind them. Customer care do not reply on emails. Their voucher scheme is fake and they do not stand on the commitment. Cordlife Representatives who come at home to explain the procedures provide incorrect details and dates by when the things will be done. The representative told that it will just take 15 days for the final tests and confirmation of the sample. but it took more than 2 months. I have to do several follow up and have to cancel the post dated cheque of the final amount. I will be raising a separate complaint and see what can be done on social media to make sure that other do not go through the pain that we parents have to go thru after trusting such a organisation.
