[Resolved] Oriental Insurance — Denial of new insurance | |
To, Oriental Insurance New Delhi, Head Office Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to bring to your attention the kind of services that are being offered at some of the branches of 'Oriental Insurance'. I write this mail because of not one instance that the company has shown to its customers, a behavior totally un-appreciable and unprofessional. I happen to go to the 'Oriental Insurance' branch in Edapally,Near Modern bread factory, Ernakulam, Kerala for a vehicle insurance. I explained to one of the managers there, that my vehicle insurance (which was previously done on Oriental Insurance, Mysore) had lapsed and that I wanted to apply for a fresh insurance cover. I had all the necessary supporting documents and my vehicle ready for the general inspection. I was filled with not only awed, but also disgust on the blunt reply of the manager, which was, that the entire office ("we") was "too busy" to be filling up new applications and doing the needed "data entry". Inspite of the fact that I was ready to wait, he repeatedly said that they could not make me a fresh insurance. This was not all, the first instance I visited the same office I saw the papers of one of my friends thrown across the desk when one of the officers read that his insurance had lapsed. I ask, is this the ‘customer first’ policy that the company follows? "National insurance" which was across the street, thereafter promptly made me a fresh insurance in 20 minutes flat absolutely without any hassles and they happen to be very polite as well.
