My Dish TV Set Top Box (STB) is not working properly, the LED keeps on blinking and nothing happens on Screen more time about half an hour.Pls give solution.

I have purched Dish Tv last year but the set top box not working properly
i have show it dish customer center but nex day the problem is same. My complain is this hence it is in warranty period but they are charging me first time they have charge 165 but i did not give them next day the problem is same and they are not solving my problem i have written mail and also make call to him

If any suggition kindly help me

i am having the same issue, the lights used to blink for around 30 min and yesterday its started blinking aid its the same tinn now its been more than 24 hrs still blinking ... any idea how to solve the issue, i spoken to one of service center he is saying that there is some problem with power supply and it will take more then 2 days time and Rs 550/- for resolving, and new set top box is 1340/- so i am going to buy new one meantime if anybody resolve it please let me know.

the settop box is blinking and not starting up, it is just blinking LED colour is orange and not green. its more than 2 days. Now the blinking is also stopped and when I contacted customer care they said within 24 hrs it will be resolved. Surprisingly a message also came to my cell phone stating that your proble is resolved. Without even attended by technician how the problem will solved only known to Dishtv When again I contacted the person who has received the call politely asked so many questions when I answered all the quested he said within 24 hours the problem will be rectified. Now totally 7 days have been completed from thelodgin of my complaint but invain. No body is attending and no one is called me .
i WANT TO CLAIM DAMAGES FOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FOR NOT ATTENDING MY CALL AS I MYSELF AND FAMILY MEMBERS DEPRIVED OF VIEWING ICC MATCHES AND OTHER TV PROGRAMEES FOR SUCH A LONG PERIOD

Open your DishTV STB box. Unplug the power cable from small SMPS kit. Unplug another cable attached to it. Take it to your electrician and said him to change two capacitor (the blue cylindrical) rated 1000uf 10V with capacitor rated 1000uf 16V or 25V. capacitor with 25V rated will resolve your problem pemanentely as in my case. In most cases only one capcitor need to change. Best Of Luck...

Hey amar3213 ur solution and diagnose seems to be spot on i aslo opend up my stb as per ur comment and found the same one capacitor (10v 1000uf) opened up and will change it with the 25v one as suggested by you. Will post again if its working after the repair. but for now thanks for the help its very much appreciated.

Dish TV is worse service provider you can get.

They are procuring cheap Chinese model setup box that goes bad and customer needs to keep paying for the repairs. Just within a month of installation my setup box has gone bad and it was replaced. Again after 5 months the setup box has gone bad and they are asking me to pay for technician visit and there is no guarantee that problem will be solved. They are just cheating the customer and nothing more.

It appears that dish tv wants to more money in repairs than the actual business of providing service.

I think nobody should ever use Dish TV.
