[Resolved]  Electrolux — Problem In Refrigerator Model DFF40

Dear Sir,

I had purchased one Electrolux refrigerator in Aug 2004 2 Rs. 31000.00, keeping in mind that the product will be as per the standard of the Company. The night mare has started just after 4-5 months of purchase. The lower Chamber had stopped working .When lodged the complaint to their local service center at Jalandhar, their service person came and changed heater and sensors ...After that it had became a general practice that the same problem has started coming after 4-5 months and till date I am suffering because of this.

The worst part was that when ever I had asked for the reason of the problem, I never got any satisfactory answer from any of the Electrolux Officer .

The Call was always been lodged through their Web Base Call lodging system. http://www.electrolux.in/node35.aspx and with Jalndhar Service Center head Mr Nitin ([protected]).

It was surprising that their Indian so called “contact us” had never responded to any of my complaints.

One thing which I had been taught by Electrolux Service Officers are that I can keep my refrigerator functional if I blow the ICE very day once the problem starts ...and I am standing almost every now and then to keep this operational. This is clearly a mental harassment.

Today when I had talked to the Service Person Mr. Nitin he told that this refrigerator is obsolete and nothing can be done. He will try to obliged me by doing some thing …I do not know what..??

In the process to get some releafe I had tried to talk to Mr Rames Sharma [protected](Jalandhar Head ) for the permanent solution …for the replacement of the product as it is high time for me bear the pain ..his answer was …I will get back which he had never

In the process of repair I had paid more than Rs 15000.00 to Electrolux for which they had never given any receipts.

The company had not only cheated me but given an mental harassment to not only me but every family member... In the financial value I had paid to Electrolux I could have purchased one Refrigerator every Year.

This is a clear that the product which had been given to me was having a manufacturing problem from day one and..

My humble request to the honorable consumer forum is to kindly get the refrigerator replaced with equivalent model and also give me the claim against the financial losses and mental harassment to me and my family because of Electrolux product

We Indian take products for our peace of mind not for nightmare

This is an imported model from Brazil. It was way ahead of the others in terms of technology when it was introduced in India.I bought my piece in 2004.
I have had the same problem with this fridge. It is a PCB fault which would need to be replaced. No point in having it repaired because:
1) The original PCB is not available,
Videocon is now licensed to operate and service electrolux products in India. It produces a diff type of PCB that is retrofitted and not very compatible with DFF40.

2) The Authorised service centres are run by illiterates. Their service is delayed and sloppy.

3) The sales and mktg are riddled with buffoons.

I am an engineer and I have taken it upon myself to replace faulty components on the PCB and get it to work.

Lesson learnt - it is not only a good product you need but also good after sales support more importantly.One must factor in this criteria while making a decision toward purchasing an electronic product.

Last but not the least, [censored] you Mr Dhoot and your scam of an organization.
I am having the same kind of issue with the this DFF 40 refrigirator.. Ever since I have bought it, I am having the trouble and god knows how much money I have already spent on getting this PCB thing replaced every year. Ridiculou service / Pathetic management / Hopeless product and the kind of attitude the service guys show to us, its all the more frustrating. Moreover, the parts and service is so very expensive, I dont see a reason why an authorized service guy should be called. ELECTROLUX SUX. Any one in authority listening?
