[Resolved]  Fab India — FAULTY BILLING AND RUDE BEHAVIOUR

this is addressed to FAB INDIA Management...

I had gone to the fabindia store in bhopal and made a purchase of towels and bedspreads. the tag on the towel showed the price as Rs. 375/- " Towel Jac Haseena Cotton Blue Large" with a tag identity "A3AEAADFAC8QAABAG9G7" and tag no. 18427.0. however when i made the purchase i noticed that the price on the bill was Rs. 410/- !

When i brought this to the notice of the lady sitting there she started shouting at the top of her voice and told me very rudely that i should not question anything!!!

i was also told that whatever bill i had been given was final and no changes including returns will be entertained and i could " do whatever i wish" and that she didnt care about anything!

i went to fabindia because of the brand value and the product quality but i had a horrible experience. are your franchisees(?) trained to behave in this manner with customers?

when the tag showed a price of Rs. 375/- why was i charged Rs. 410/- for the same? (i have the tag and bill to prove this)
does your employee/franchisee have any right to behave with me or any customer like this??

what action does your company management contemplate to take against this erring employee/franchisee??
do you have a complaint cell?
how do you handle complaints from your customers?

what steps are initiated if these complaints are not addressed?

do you instill a sense of responsibility in your employess/franchisee to ensure customer satisfaction or you have enough customers and are not bothered about losing one???

does a customer have a right to question discrepancy in a bill or not??

are your employees aware of consumer rights??
does your company believe in consumer rights??

i hope you take appropriate action and reply to my questions???

regards

Pramod Sharma

I had been to Fab India stores at Mangalore-EmpireMall on 8Sept2009 in order to exchange one of the kurta which i recently bought from there. Inspite of me being regular customer, the staff at the stores behaved very rudely and were not at all co-operative.This is not the first instance or lone case, my other friends who are also the customers of Fab India-Mangalore, have faced similar rude behaviour and had unpleasant experience.
We as Customers expect minimal decency and courtesy from the staff members.
I got 2 shawls from fab india at Oberon mall, cochin. I wanted to exchange one shawl. So i brought it back the very previous day morning itself. But the Lady there was so arrongant and she said 'exchanging of shawls is against our rules and if at all u want to exchange u should take prior apponintments'.So i told her that i will call her & take apponiment and come back. But she very rudely told me that even if i take apponiment she wont exchange it.

I really wonder what is the problem in exchanging a totally unused thing to a customer. And more than that customers expect some decency and courtesy from the staff members. I am a very regular customer of Fab India, not just in cochin but to most of the Fab india's in the country right from my college days.(wherever i travel)

This is the end of a loyal customer to Fab India.& more than that i will inform all my friends through mails & whatever means to stop their purcahses from this very customer un-friendly shop.
Looking at all these complaints I am convinced that there is no value for money. We are being taken for a fab ride ! Which is the government department we must complain ? Do they not have checks ?
File complaint in consumer forum for compensation.
