[Resolved]  Gati — Late delivery, loss of goods and discrepancy in bill

I recently shifted from Pune and used GATI for transporting all my belonginings from Pune to Kottayam. The shipment contained a total of 8 items however the GATI representative in Pune asked me to combine 2 items (namely 2 bean bags) and made the number of items as 7. The shipment was taken on the 14th of April and I paid Rs.5000. The amount on the bill was Rs.4420 only and the shipment was only booked on 17th of April. The assured delivery date as per the slip given to me was the 20th of April however when they logged it onto their system they put it as 22nd April.

The shipment came on 29th April after many daily followups from my side. It was found that one of bean bags (which was meant to be combined with another bean bag) was missing. On calling GATI offices, I was not able to get any clear information about my missing package. I have raised a complaint on their site however no one has contacted me to give me an update.

I was told that I would receive a refund equal to the frieght charges due to late delivery (1 week late). I later found out that the refund would be in the form of coupons from GATI which could be used against future shipments. However I feel after having such a bad experience,I should not be forced to risk my belongings by sending them through GATI just to get my money back. Such "Company Policies" are not customer oriented and are just a ploy to forcefully get a customer to use the company's Service even after such an appalling evidence of poor service.

I have raised 2 complaints on the GATI site namely:
CS29011- for not receving delivery post assured delivery date and CS29082- for the missing item
I have attached the screen shot of the status from the GATI site and a complaint that I had made on the site itself.
I humbly request that an appropriate corrective action is taken so that such mishaps are not repeated and consumers need not suffer from such poor service.

I have some similar kind of complains against GATI. I shipped my baggage from Delhi to Mumbai. It was a locked tin bag which is difficult to be broken. On receiving the baggage on the other end I was surprise to see that the tin was completely damaged and the locks were break opened. On inspecting the items I found that a Ray Ban Aviator glass was missing. On complaining, I was said that I will be provided with some kind of certificate of loss/damage of good, but no compensation for the damage caused. Kindly read the clause 9 B which says GATI is liable to pay loss of Rs. 400 per kg to a maximum of Rs.5000.
