[Resolved] Honda Unicorn — Mileage

Hi, I bought my Honda Unicorn in September 2008. It's just had 2 free services. The bike's performance has been excellent. But since the past few weeks I have been having problems with confused mileage. Why I say "confused mileage" is this. For a litre of petrol I would get b/w 52-56 km/ltr. But lately it has dropped to 40 km/ltr. I have verified the quantity of fuel to be 1 ltr at the bunk. When the mileage was checked at the Honda service center it gave me 5.7 Km/100ml. I made sure that the bike wasn't tuned before checkin the mileage so as to give them the exact figures. I was surprised by the outcome. Immediately after that when I checked the mileage by pouring 1 ltr in the tank, I ended up with 40 km/ltr! The service engineers tell me that the tank has some kind of a raised platform to the right so I have to get the fuel poured to the left side of the tank. Is there any logic in this? If that was the case why would I get 56 consistently? Have any of the users come accross such a weird problem? I have the same problem even with the Eterno. Please help me. Thank you. God bless. I am using this bike since 1 year n my bike never give me milage more 38 Kmpl, so dont go 4 this bike...

My name is Ratheesh.I took delivery of my new Unicorn in Nov 2008 from Cochin .I too facing the same problem.Its a shame for the company if I reveal the mileage what am getting right now.Its 36!!!.I contacted the authorized Honda service center, they have done mileage test twice and showed me 4.7km for100ml.More over they have tuned my bike in all services and cleaned the carburetor twice.But no surprise had been ever happened.Though I made notice of the problem with with concerned official at the service center, till this time they couldn't solve the issue in a satisfying manner.In my experience Unicorn has got so many other defects.Chain sound, balancing problem while applying rear brake.Starting problem etc(space is not enough to point out all ) So my humble request to those who want to buy Unicorn is that "Think Twice".

Hi, My name is Vinayak & I Have purchased a Honda Unicorn in jan 2009 & it isgiving me a mileage of just 30 km pl & that really veru expensive....I Have taken the bike to teh service stating twice & they just cleaned the carborator twice & still nothing happen...I did informed them about the same but the manager told that the person to look after the bike is not available & they just keep on misguiding the customers..well i am talking about the honda service centre in chembur...Please take some action & get us out of this problem.

hi, i have a honda bike, the product is good but the service persons are not attending exactly what the customers looking for?
just for name sake they are doing servicing and handing over the bike,
any ownner is along with their bike upto service completes?
they are taking advantage of this?

will honda improve service persons good

I AM THINKING TO PURCHASE HOND'S UNICORN CB DAZZLER BUT READING ALL THIS COMPLAINTS AGAINST HONDA & OTHER BRANDS BIKE THING THAT NOT TO PURCHASE ANY TWO WHEELER IN MY LIFE. NOW I AM VERY UPSET FOR BIKE. I SEE THE DREAM OF BIKE IN MY LIFE BUT NOT AT ALL.

Honda/Unicorn — Hep me

I am SivaKumar.M.I bought a Honda unicorn bike in Balaji Automotive on March 06/2010. From that on words my bike face lot problem free service now over and i gave the pay service on 05/10/2010. I gave the complain that my bike battery not in good conduction so replace that one i said but they charge it and gave after three day battery power gon i ask them to change it but they said we didn't have the stock and they said better you buy new one in out side like that reply to me i was totally up set and i worry lot.They spoil your brand name and good will

2.Battery week
3. service not good
4. Not a proper response from the management

hi,

I bought unicon dazzler 2 months ago. untill the first service my bike mileage was 52 to 58 km, after that it came down to 35 km per liter. please some body advise me. my bike just 1700km for now. the honda people does not seem to know any thing.

.I am having honda unicorn 2005 model.my unicorn is giving a low mileage. valve not sounds good. smoothness is gone. throtle is missing. if we hold the throtle for a few sec then oly we get the appropriate response. now the mileage is 35 -38.

I bought Honda unicorn CB Model Byke on 05.11.2010. From That time two serviceings are complted but now my unicorn is giving low mileage. Now the millage is 38 -38. Please give the sollution. I am waiting for your responce...

i brought a unicorn, and now it close to one year still i have complaint releted to the chain, the complaint is that some irritating sound from the chain cover.the thing is we feel the chain is loose but it's not loose it's been freequently chequed and adjusted, after two or three days the same problem will repeat no other complents .plezz give me solution .i got a milage close two 60 .

I bought new Honda Unicorn on jan 2013 and I have some doubts regarding maintaining bike mileage, so when i drive my bike at 40-50km/hr it give mileage above 50/ltr but when I exceed the speed above 50-60km/hr I'm getting only 35/40 mileage so is it same with all unicorn bike or any prob with my bike, it finished 3000k recently 2 days back, so pls do suggest...
