My Compaq latptop is under warranty. Suddenly it stopped working showing hard-disk error.
I approached Compaq service station & hand-overed the laptop to them for doing the needful.
I requested for my data back-up & infomed them that i am ready to pay for this serivce.
Compaq representatives informed me that this is not possible with authorised service center. I have to avail services of outside vendors & in that case warrany will be void.
I requested them to check hard-disk & confirm that it has failed. If they cannot give the service, they should allow opening of hard-disk by outside vendors.
I found Compaq as most unreliable as data is unsecured. Hard-discs are of the order of over 100 Gb now a days - how many times one can take back-up?
I need back-up of my data - let Comapq research team do it themselves or get it done from outside, its up to them.
I reiterate that i am ready to pay for the back-up services as i did not take my backup - as i trusted the Compaq laptop!!

HP-Compaq — Misguiding the customer
Dear Sir/Madam,There was a news paper (Times of India- Kolkata edition) advertisement about Compac Laptop on 3rd January 2009. As per the ad Compaq laptop along with a Kodak camera of 9.2 mp was available for Rs.36899/-. The ad was given by the Future Group. On response I made the full payment on 4th Jan and after that only I was told that the laptop is out of stock. I received the product after 2 weeks. Since then I am fighting for the camera which was part of the deal. Till date I have not received the camera and I have lost all faith on the promises made by the future group.
Pls help me to get the camera.
