[Resolved]  HSBC Visa Credit Card — Terrible customer service

Dear Sir,

Please be informed that once again HSBC cannot follow simple directions.
At previously stated I closed all accounts including my HSBC VISA credit card in March.
In May of this year I paid off all remaining balance in the VISA, with an accompanying letter to confirm closure of the VISA account.
I have now received a letter from HSBC collection center stating my VISA account has an outstanding balance of over 14, 000 Rs.
I have made no purchases on this VISA account, I have requested closure of this account and yet HSBC continues to accept charges to this account.
Since you were instructed to close this account I will not accept liability for these charges.
I have attempted numerous times to contact someone over the phone about this issue and I have been referred to 5 different phone numbers, the final number has not answered a call in over 2 days.
HSBC does not support its customers.
Please resolve this Issue as soon as possible.

Dear Swathi,

Please be informed that this account was closed in March, this year, by myself while I was in Mumbai at the M.G. Road, main branch.
I do not know who assisted me but please close this account as previously stated I'm no longer an Indian resident as of March of this year and it is illegal for me to hold an Indian bank account.
I have destroyed the credit card and check book since they were of no further use.
Please send me an application to again close the account and I will sign scan and send on to you.
Presently I'm employed offshore in Saudi Arabia and mail service is very questionable.
Hopefully this will finally put closure to this account.

Dear Kirubahar,

Sorry but your records are incorrect, I indeed closed all India accounts, since I'm no longer an Indian resident, as of March this year, I cannot legally hold an Indian back account.
This is the reason I closed all my accounts.
Following that I destroyed my credit card and check book as I had no further need.
As previously stated I personally appeared at the main branch in Mumbai, M.G road and closed all accounts.
Please be informed that I will not be liable for any service charges on any HSBC Indian accounts as of March 2007.
I would suggest that you keep better records next time.

To Whom It May Concern:

HSBC is spending billions of dollars on a charm offensive to convince you to bank with it. At airport terminals around the world and in slick magazines, HSBC says they care about what we value and they are "the world's local bank."

HSBC Offshore (Jersey) wants you to believe that your personal data is safe and your banking details are confidential with them. . HSBC is selling its customers out. This blog blows the whistle.

The truth is that HSBC spreads misinformation about customer credit risk and then refuses to discuss its allegations by hiding behind HSBC Terms and Conditions. It cuts its customers off without explanation.

HSBC is so big now that they can afford to abuse and lose any single customer for no reason or any reason.

If you are a past or present employee or client of HSBC Jersey please step forward and share what you know.
