[Resolved]  Hyundai - i20 — FRAUD AND DELAY IN DELIVERY

I herby lodge a strict complain against Chandra Hyundai, Udaipur for treating their customers in a totally unprofessional manner. Their Sales Manager, Mr. Akhilesh had come to my office on 25th June and after prolong negotiations, we finalized 2 numbers, Hundai I20 cars, magna version, silver colour. We even paid them booking amount of INR51, 000*2=102, 000/- for both the cars instantly. Mr Akhilesh promised us the delivery of the car before 13th July, as well as further booking confirmation letter and other details within the next few days.

Till date, we neither have the booking confirmation, nor the status on the cars. ON 10TH JULY, when I made an effort to Reach Mr. Akhilesh, he was not at all unapologetic about the delay, rather he was justifying himself by saying that we made a commitment, and not all commitments in the life can be fulfilled. I reminded him that he was still under obligation, on that he started talking nonsense. I reminded him that as a customer I have my rights to cancel the booking, and it is upto him to make the situation pleasant or to worsen it further. I further mentioned to him that one irritated customer will definitely deter atleast 10 other customers, and I will ensure that this word reaches out to all other potential Hyundai customers, local newspapers, media channels and blog sites on the internet. On this Mr. Akhilesh said that he does not cares and he will think later about all this matter. On demanding my booking amount with 18% interest and an apology letter, he did not give any concrete answer either. This is not at all done and I intent to lodge a formal complain with the competent court of law. I further intent to take the matter to full justice.

I demand a full scale written apology from MR. AKHILESH AND CHANDRA HYUNDAI. A stern action must be taken against both the dealership and the salesman which are trying to seriously damage the image of a customer oriented company such as HYUNDAI. Further, I demand an immediate delivery of my cars. I hope somebody is listening at HYUNDAI-INDIA. I never hoped for such an unpleasant start with HYUNDAI.

OK, finally, today I received the confirmations about my booking but no concrete date of delivery. Mr. Akhilesh is still acting snobbish and not at all apologitic about creating such an unpleasent situation. The centeral complain number of HYUNDAI, is an eyewash. They listen to your queries, give you a complain number and just keep rolling you over. Something must be done about Dealerships and companies such as Chandra Hyundai and also HMIL.

I will watch for the next few days and if nothing happens, will lodge a case against Chandra Hyundai and HMIL.
I am waiting for my i20. It was promised end of September 2009 and today told likely to be waiting until mid November. Attitude towards me the customer seems poor. Polite enough but not returning calls. And no real apology, just you can have your money back as many others waiting for there order type of atttitude. I am left feeling that I am actually doing the bad deed.
I am under stress because after much research decided on this car and now am left possibly without any car as my MOT is due beginning of November and might need to buy 2nd hand as no real date for pick up of i20.
I don't know if there is any thing I can actually complain about in law as not looked into this side of things. I would be interested in any feed back on any rights I might have. My opinion on the car trade is quite low at this point generally.
I am facing similar issue. Specially their voice customer service ..its just a eyewash.
hi,
I am facing similar issues. Its the most pathetic company to deal with. There is no response from company side no matter how hard you try. I am also thinking of taking legal action against the company. I am also planning to start a web campaign against Hyundai for behaving in this manner so that people dont buy hyundai cars based on the false promises.

Hyundai - i20 — Rude behavior of the Orion staff

I bought i20-Asta from Orion Auto in Gurgaon on 31st Jan 2010. Some of the staff at Orion are so rude and unprofessional. For registration of my car, I have to ring them up so many times. They even forgot to send my file. When I visited the showroom, I found that they could not find the file.
The worst is the attitude of its staff memeber (I am not naming), who talks to rudly to me.
Dear sir

This is a good initiative you have taken, One should take up the matter very seriously to ban the hyundai in india because of this non responcive to the customers complients so that the other people donot get exposed to similar actions by the dealers of Hyundai

This is how the hyundai handles customers, I also faced similar problem with my dealer, I have tried lot of times to customer care later I found it is only a dust bin handled by non responcive peoples.

Even you surprise to know that they Hyundai sells the vehicles through their dealers by assuring the good service I do not know if they trouble us during selling it self how one can belive them

I am also trying to do the similar action like you and waiting for right time,

Dear Mr. Saboo,

I just returned from the local Hyundai dealer, Asset Hyundai, Kanjurmarg, Mumbai and my experiences with them have been exactly the same.

I first placed an order with Asset Hyundai for an i20 Asta on the 18th of June and paid an advance of INR 50, 000. I was promised delivery within 6 weeks (we will pull some strings to possibly deliver even earlier - these were the words of the sales team leader). 4 weeks later, around 15th July, I tried calling to check the status but received no response from the cell phone number of the sales team leader. When I dialled the landline number, I was connected to a sales person, Mr. Pawan, who was not the same as the one who originally booked the order. Mr. Pawan, promised to call back with the status in the next hour. When I called back after after a couple of hours, I received the same, will call back later answer from Mr. Pawan. 3 days and five calls later to Mr. Pawan, I asked the operator at Asset Hyundai to connect me to the Sales Manager, Mr. Milind.

Upon talking to Mr. Milind, I learnt why he deserved to be the sales team's manager. When he was told about the problem, he told me, "he will call me back later !" At this point, I was at the end of my patience and told him that I will stay on the phone for as long as he needs to get me a status on my order. While I was holding on the phone, Mr. Milind was kind enough to even help out another colleague with some financial documents, without realising that I could hear all of this. After a few minutes, he returned to the phone and gave me the status - the sales team leader had been fired because o[censored]nrealistic committments that he had made to customers. My order was not booked and the factory had not issued a car so far. I had to remind him that the sales team leader was fired because he did not keep his committments to the customer and what Mr. Milind was doing was not too different. He promised to call me back the next day after more research.

Next day, of course, I did not get a call. I called back to talk to Mr. Milind, who then told me that there was "some problem" at the Chennai factory so the deliveries were delayed. He confirmed that he had got a car issued against my order, which will land in Mumbai on the 30th of July. After which, they will be able to deliver the car to me on the 12th August. After some initial discussion, I agreed to the delay but asked Mr. Milind send me an update via email if there was any change in dates promised by him. He promptly promised to keep me updated for the next 4 weeks.

The next three weeks I did not receive any email or phone call, which I assumed was a good sign. But, of course, my assumption turned out to be wrong, when I called Mr. Milind on the 5th of August. It turns out, the factory has still not issued the car and the delivery will take even longer than the originally promised 12th August. Once again I had to remind Mr. Milind that I perfectly well understood if there was any delay on the factory side and that I could wait longer. The only thing I expected from him was a proactive update to me. My family and I had plans to travel outside the country, which we had postponed due to the delivery on the 12th August. Had we known of the delay earlier, we would have been able to plan accordingly. Mr. Milind was far from apologetic but he did promised, yes, you guessed it right, to call me later that evening by 6:00 pm to give me an update on the actual delivery date. He mentioned that he had already spoken to his CEO and the two of them together would work on getting some realistic information back to me.

No call back on the evening of 5th, nothing on the 6th of August.

On the 7th of August, I called Asset Hyundai, asking to be connected to Mr. Sameer Thakkar, the CEO of Asset Hyundai. Upon reminding him that Mr. Milind was supposed to let me know during the entire period of 4 weeks, again on Thursday, Sameer apologised for the goo[censored]p. He gave me a lame story about working late into the evening on Thursday following up on the issue but completely forgot to give me an update. The excuse sounded lame to me because, if you are working on an issue where 6-7 customers are impacted, how do you forget to give the same 6-7 customers an update ? During the course of the conversation, Sameer mentioned that he would be having a meeting with the Western Region Sales Head on Monday, 9th August. After which he will be able to give me an update latest by Monday evening. I told him that whatever happens, a landslide in Chennai or an earthquake in Mumbai, I would like to get a call back from him on Monday evening, else he should send me a cheque for the advance (INR 50, 000) on Tuesday morning without any reminder from my side.

Come Monday evening, no call back from Sameer. No cheque on Tuesday morning. Tuesday evening I decided to finally go down to Asset Hyundai to collect the cheque. After waiting for another 30 minutes at the showroom, I was shown into Mr. Sameet Thakkar's office, where I had to remind him of the entire story again. He now remembered and apologised for the goo[censored]p once again mentioning that such things do happen to 10-15 customers out of the 175 that he deals with. Upon hearing that I realised that the rot in this organisation was top down. The head of the organisation was truly leading them to excellence in customer dis-satisfaction ! When a CEO explains to a customer that this is how business runs, then you know that over-committments and terrible customer management skills at Sales team leader, Sales Manager levels can be expected to be the norm at Asset Hyundai !

What was worse that Mr. Sameer Thakkar did not even once try to arrange for the cheque to be handed over me while I was in his office. Even at this point, I was told we will get it to you tomorrow.

The silver lining to the entire episode was that I received the cheque the next morning. I am yet to encash it but if it cheque bounces and I get the response, " I will call you back later !" then at least this time I will not be surprised ! ;-)
hi...
I am facing similar issues. They are not thinking about the customer that they have their own planning...They are just giving date as they like...
we booked i20 1 month ago and that time they promise to give car in navratre but till today the car is not dispatch from Chennai and they told that from chennai car will take arnd 10 days to reach... Its the most pathetic company to deal with. There is no response from company side no matter how hard you try. I am also planning to start a web campaign against Hyundai for behaving in this manner so that people dont buy hyundai cars based on the false promises.
I'm facing same issue FRAUD AND DELAY IN DELIVERY with i20 Asta
Never purchase a Hyundai car from ASSET HYUNDAI, Kanjurmarg. The entire dealership is solely money driven and no at all customer oriented. One of my friend received his i20 as a gift from his relatives. The car was booked by a person who was a novice and had no idea what comes free with a new car & what accessories to bargain upon. Sensing this, ASSET HYUNDAI delivered a 6 lac rupees i20 Magna without the basic mud flaps and rubber mats. Forget putting in any accessories!

When my friend spoke to them, they said that nothing comes free with the car & now he will have to purchase everything and if he was getting a better deal from other Hyundai dealer, he was welcome to go to them for booking!!

This is the kind of Customer Service that the dealer gives to their customers. Since they know that there is more demand and less supply, they exploit this situation very well. Customer is God can never be their motto...

And this is India, there is no use of complaining, afterall, we are customers, its our destiny to suffer!
I brought a I 20 car one month back. Before the first service only 650 km I was driving with my family unexpectedly my car breakdown on a heavy traffic jam road. I had a shock on that time because I brought this car with a high expectation with a trust company like hyundai. But when I had this problem I immeddiately contacted my dealer that is MGf hundai, Desom Aluva cochin and they told cochin is not their limit of control and direct to contact the cochin MGF dealer at padivottom cochin. I contacted them and many call I got from many hyundai people even from Delhi also. But nobody came on the spot. Iam a priest in a church and vehichele is registered in my wife name Dr.Gigi George and three hours we were in menatal agony and stress. Around 20 times I called many people in the dealers part and after three hours one man came and He checked and told me the battery is not charging. Then he charged the battery from another bartery and started the car and come to my church place whcih is about 10 km from chrch which is nearesst place accompanied with that dealer man. when the car swched off it was the same problem. Then the Populat Hundai cochin dealer called me by phone we are taking the car for checking and I asked them How did they know about my car and told me hundai advised them to take Becausr they are the nearest car dealer from my place It was then around 7pm the same day the break down was about 10.30 am in the morning. Any way in the evening they took my car and told me they will check next day morning and they told me they are racharging the battery and evening i can take. I was satisfied with a dissatisfaction. In evening I was about to take the car back I asked them they told the battery is not good they will replaced the battery and they temporarily aranged another battery and within two days they will give the new battery. But unfortunately I didnot get the battery last two weeks. yesterday evening they told me they will replace the battery surely exide told like that and today they made a telephone call to me the battery is ready and it is the same battery now it is ok. I cannot accept this. Because it is really a cheating. My trust on Hyndai vehechel already died and I hope you will surely intervene in this immediately otherwise if it is like this I will publish some notices and deliver in front of all dealers of Hyundai . Because nobody have to suffer like this. It is really a cheating.
I hope you will call me on my mobile 0091 [protected] my email [protected]@yahoo.com

Hi Sir / Madam.

Good Day!

I visit HILTON HYUNDAI Trivandrum (Inchakkal, Kerala) showroom on 10th October 2014 to make an advance payment of Rs 2 lakhs for an I20 Elite Sports petrol version. I am told I can take delivery of the car in 20-25 days.

Surprisingly, on 27th of October the sales personal of the showroom calls up and tells me that order will be placed with Hyundai only after full payment is made. I rush up to the Canara bank TVM and arrange loan for Rs 4, 82, 000 in 3days. The sales manger's strange explanation is, the customer needs to wait for another one (or more) month from the date of full payment.

On 15th of November I made another visits to the showroom and found 3 irate customers with the same issue. I asked the sales guy, When can you deliver the car. He said, I don't know. I was like embarrassed and his voice seems to be very mocky an he added "Its the rule of this showroom to get full payment while you book the car" in a very rude voice.

The rationale behind this policy needs explanation:

1) Does HYUNDAI gain at the expanse of the customer who has made to pay loan interest for no use?

2) On what ground did HILTON HYUNDAI TVM accept advance payment of an item which they are uncertain about the delivery?

And what did they do with it.

3) If they are uncertain about the delivery of the vehicle, then why did they ask for the full payment form a customer?

Please revert on the above incident. I need a clarification. Also I am a FAN OF I20, in that desire I booked, now I regret having gone for the far on my dreams. I request the company to probe what to me is a fraudulent deed on the part of Hilton Hyundai. No other dealer across the country is found to have the strange policy of demanding complete payment for booking a car.
