[Resolved]  ICICI Prudential iProtect — Worst Customer service

Dear Sir,

I have paid premium online for buying icici prudential iprotect term insurance. It has been almost two months the company not issued the policy to me inspite of me completing all the formailities. Raising complaint to them does not work. I request you to please take action against them for putting the customer to utter frustration with their bad service.

Please find the details below:


I have applied for icici prudential iprotect term insurance plan for 50 Lakhs
on 18th August 2010.

For a long time I have not received any mail or useful call other than so
called verification calls. After so much of efforts they arranged for medical tests. To my frustration even one month after taking the medical tests they still say that medicals is pending.

I verified the application status in website and it says that the medicals are done. I wonder what database infrastructure you guys have.

I registered so many complaints and seems to me that the icici guys take it as compliment and never bothered to respond.

I talked to Harshika sharma (floor supervisor) and as usual registered one more complaint and finally they responded and sent one person for collecting documents. His details are as follows:

They continue torturing me saying that they have not recieved the documents even after 2 weeks of submitting the same.

Once again registered complaint with them (No :[protected]. As usual they call and say they have not received the documents.

I also tried icici grievance redressal option and submitted the information. To add oil to my frustration, it says as follows:

But I have never received the reference number.

I wonder how come icici prudential manage to survive with such a bad service. I am going to raise a complaint to IRDA and if needed to go to consumer forum as I see I am left with no options now.

I think they don't have bandwidth to service the customers. My issue is very much similar as yours. Even I have applied I-Protect on 27th Aug and so far policy not issued. Medicals done, documents submitted multiple times and still they are not able to track the docs.Took pains to register the complaint several times (spent almost 40 to 60 hrs, raised complaint all possible ways and all possible methods) and so far no action from their side.

Seriously I had to rethink when my friend raised a point... Why to struggle with a company when it doesn't bother to issuer a policy and what would be the fate with regard to servicing the policy lateron. Why don't u lookout for options in the market...there are multiple companies offering their best service.

I paid premium in August 2010, submitted docs to ICICI Pru's outsourced agency, done medicals at Bora Hospital, Pune. Inspite of doing this, they kept saying my submitted docs were incomplete, medicals are incomplete and finally they withdrew the policy on Nov 1, 2010 !!

This is highly unprofessional service from a good company.
I paid the premiun on 04th Dec 2010, but nothing has been done till date.

I also have the same experience! I paid money for the iProtect (OL[protected] on 07/12/2010 and did my medical test on 31st Dec 2010. When I checked my applicaton status after 1 week i found NO records!, Then i called customer care and i got the same answer. They said they could not find any record for the applicaiton -OL00047940. The guys gave me kerala number . I called 3 or 4 times and atlast somebody picked up the call and told that the documentation process still pending and will complete it one week. When i checked the tracker after 1 week(15th Jan 2011) i found my records back! The tracker says my medicals are completed. But now it says "D-IUW Requirement not met" status pending. I don't know what this guys are doing ? Even after close to 2 months of waiting i didnt get my policy document! nor any update from the company. I strongly recomment all do not go for this policy just for less cost. There are lots of other options available in the market. I regret for taking for this policy now. :(
Absolute trash of an organization they are... I have a similar experince... almost two months since mdical etc. done but no further progress... 5 times I have given income and age documents... dont know what they want and why they exist...innumerable calls and mails but still this organization does not move.

They should better shut shop
This is one of the worst customer support company, it's more than a month to purchased the ICICI Pru iProtect Term Insurance. I got tired to listen it that from customer care, sir we will deliver your policy in this week.

This is my personal feeling, don't go with this policy just because of cheap policy. If my experience is bad at the time of issue of this policy, what will happens at the time of clamming.

So please please please don't go with policy...this will give you the pain only...

Worts Customer Service I have ever seen in my life. I am really frustrated the way they are handling customers. I have other plans with ICICI Prudential and now I am going to withdraw all these policies.

Application Tracker : OL00054442 Paid the policy on 27/12/2010 and as of today(15th March, 2011) I did not get my policy at all.

I have completed the medicals, submitted the Form-16 and see the status as per the application tracker.

Discrepancy D-IUW Requirement not met 09/02/2011 12/02/2011 - DONE
4 Discrepancy D-IUW Requirement not met 28/02/2011 Not available - PENDING

Do not know what they are doing, same status is done on 12th Feb and same became pending on 28th Feb... No idea only God Knows what's happening at ICICI Prudential...Really frustrated with them. Tried many times to customer care but there is absolutely no resolution.

Now the current status is D-IUW requirement not met... and policy Status is Withdrawn...When I ask them to return my premium amount, they are taking their own sweet time to credit my money...

Guys, Please do not buy this product any more. You will face the same problems what we are facing now.
They are giving such services after getting the money from us,
& what will be the condition in case of any unfortunate event, & when it comes to claim settlement????
i too agree with you all, & facing the same problem, they are not servicing as per the BRAND NAME.

Yes, absolutely right. I have faced the same problem and still it is not resolved. ICICI has the worst service I can imagine. No wonder people are going to new and reliable players in this field. Take example of SBI Life. My application no. is : OL00075894
