The ICICI Bank, ATM Services,
Dear Sir,
Sub: Claim of Rs.5000/- - Wrongly deducted in my
ATM Debit Card bearing No.[protected] of Indian Bank
on 1st June 2009 at Rangarajapuram ICICI ATM Booth —regarding.
This has reference to the above subject. In this connection I would like to submit a few words to your kind attention.
My name is I.M. Sultan, an account holder of Indian Bank, Kodambakkam Branch, Chennai-24, since 1984.
To get money urgently, I inserted my card at your Rangarajapuram (Chennai - 24) ICICI ATM Booth on 1st June 2009, and I tried to get Rs.5000/- but the ATM refused to forward the above money. I once again inserted my Card and took only Rs.200/-.
I was shocked to note on seeing the mini Statement obtained at Indian Bank ATM on 6th June 2009, because the statement mentioned that I took Rs.5200/- (i.e., 5000 + 200) through ICICI ATM at Rangarajapuram on 1st June 2009.
I immediately reported this matter to my Indian Bank, Kodambakkam Branch. They verified their computer records and got one written statement from me and directed to you on 6th June.
I patiently waited for 45 days and enquired once again. My Bank traced your reply. They told me that my claim was rejected by your Bank on 7th June itself. I didn’t expect such a reply from your end. Then I enquired at your Rangarajapuram ATM booth and I was told the fact that all ATMs of your Bank at Rangarajapuram will not tender above Rs.4000/- at a time. Because the machines would be loaded only Rs.100/- notes and they tender maximum 40 notes at a time.
I reported this fact to my Indian Bank and they immediately got another written claim letter from me. But still my account has not yet been set right.
The Reserve Bank of India has already given instructions that the grievances of the ATM victims should be rectified within a time limit and fine should be paid to the victims for the delay at Rs.100/- per day.
Thanking you,
Sincerely yours,
(I.M. SULTAN)
