[Resolved]  Irctc — Unable to book online Tatkal ticket

When I try to book a Tatkal ticket from Dindigul to Chennai for the date of 17th May, I get an error message saying, "Booking not permitted. Try some other Train/Class". I get this message after I entered the passenger details. After confirming the availability, I have tried all the trains and got the same message. I am really frustrated and finally I couldn't reserve my ticket at all. These kind of problems will surely give a very bad name to IRCTC and better they can remove the online tatkal booking option.

you shd select the originating station and destination station and book full ticket.
for example if i want to travel from vijaywada to gwalior, i will search for say chennai-delhi train
and book tatkal ticket from chennai-delhi
this is the way to book tatkal tickets.

This is not a big problem but it is a problem.

Secondly there is a proper solution for this problem. You can book your ticket from your boarding station to your destination station by following up these steps at IRCTC:

TRICK FOR TATKAL BOOKING AT IRCTC
==============================>
1. Search by your BOARDING station to your DESTINATON station by giving all your journey details.
2. Select your train and then check its schedule for looking SOURCE station & DESTINATION station and note down these station with their codes.
3. Now put these station codes once again in FROM & TO columns and keep other details same and search for train.
4. Select that train once again and check availability. It will never show any fault message.
5. If available then you can click BOOK TICKET button.
6. Now select and change your BOARDING STATION (Important) as per your requirement which is below BOOKING STATION field & after TRAIN NO./NAME.
7. Now you can proceed by giving passengers details.
8. Select Consider for Auto upgradation and click MAKE PAYMENT button.
9. Enter your Credit Card/Bank A/c Customer ID and click PAY button.
10. Please KEEP WAITING untill you will show back your IRCTC web page with congratulation message for successfully booking the ticket.

tatkal booking is very bad on irctc
why because agents logins getting
tatkal and normal logins are not
working
My Query: Suppose station A is having tatkal booking facility. The next station of the train is B. B has no tatkal facility but the train stops at B. Now if I book a Tatkal ticket in irctc. com as SOURCE Station A and put boarding station as station B, will the ticket be booked successfully?? I think in irctc website once you put boarding station B, the system will reject the booking because that station has no Tatkal... irrespective of source station A having Tatkal facility.
Anybody has answer for this issue, kindly reply.
In IRCTC, tatkal booking is quite bad always. and now that tatkal can be done only two days before situation is rather worse.My query is how the agencies is able to login when normal customer login is not working.
Booking a ticket in tatkaal is impossible especially during festive season, it always says service unavailable...this is not somtimes, this is always. Since past 4 days, I am not able to book tatkaal ticket from New delhi(NDLS) to Bangalore (YPR). Once the tickets are unavailable, Service get activated. I am facing this problem since many months, and so we have to go to agents where they demand atleast 200-300 rs for normal sleeper booking.
Everybody should pay some amount and become an Agent to book train tickets, because Agent login works and they are able to book tickets and normal login doesnt work. Do or Die. Better they can stop atleast this tatkal service online booking so that people are not disturbed and everybody will go to the nearest booking counter. Or increasing the speed of servers, or allotting quota for online tatkal booking would help.
