[Resolved] Jawed Habib — Fraud & Cheating by the Jawed Habib, Hair and Beauty Spa Salon at Kolkata-71 | |||
Dear Sir/Madam, On 26 Sep 2010, at 16:30 Pm, I, Mrs Pampa Chattopadhyay along with my husband Mr Argha Chattopadhyay went to‘Jawed Habib, Hair and Beauty Spa Salon’ at Ho-Chi Minh Sarani, Kolkata-71(Tele no –[protected]/6317) for my hair dressing. I went to avail the service against a gift voucher which we received from ‘The Telegraph’ news paper ‘The Solitaire Platinum’ membership (Member ship card no –[protected]Card scan copy as attached). The gift voucher was of value Rs. 500/-. While seating on the hair dressing chair before starting the hair dressing service I asked to the concerned staff of the salon Ms Gitaregarding the charge of service and I told her that I would not spend more than Rs. 500/- (as I had the gift voucher of Rs 500/-). She confirmed me repeatedly that the service will be provided within Rs 500/- only. However, after the finishing the service when I went to billing counter a bill of Rs. 5000/- with Rs 500/- discount was handed over to me. I denied to pay the same by saying that initially I was informed that the service charge would be Rs.500/-. But the many staffs of the salon accumulated together and started abusing me and my husband in slang language. Finley by threatening us in horrible manner they compelled my husband to pay the bill (Bill no - 2654 dtd 26/9/10). In view of the above I am requesting you that a strict action should be taken against the authorities of ‘Jawed Habib’ salon for cheating a customer specially a woman customer in the above-mentioned manner. My husband is an Ex-Indian Air Force officer and presently a Service Manager of a well-reputed company. We went through many places of our country but never faced like this situation. I never expected like this treatment in my hometown. This salon is a shame for Kolkata. Further, I like to request ‘The Telegraph’ authority not to give a gift voucher of such a salon/service where people will be cheated in the manner by which I was cheated. Hey . I completely agree that whatever is written by Ms. pampa might be true. I had gone for rebonding from Jawed Habib premium saloon sarabha nager Ludhiana in feb 2011. They did rebonding but burnt my hair and their main Hair Expert Mr. Ali he cut my hair unevenly without my permission and shortned my hair length. When i complained they said you come to us after 2 days for a free hair spa we will settle all this . I paid almost 9000 rupees and when i gone after 2 days, they not attended me properly and in the name of spa, they just washed my hairs.They also said to use some products and said to do oiling after 15 days. I did so but after oiling when i washed my hairs i was shocked to see waves in my hairs inspite o[censored]sing all the products like shampoo conditioner mask given by them. I complained to them that u spoiled my hairs and asked for their main owners number.They not given the number as they were frightned and they stopped picking my cals. They are really cheaters. I am planning to put a complaint in consumer court soon.
These premium saloons are ruining the image of Brand name Jawed Habib. They even don't know spellings of shampoo and conditioner .I really wish Mr. Jawed Habib read all these complaints and take strict action against the employees of premium saloon of Sarabha Nager Ludhiana . They are doing whatever they want and cheating the customers.
I also got very poor service from them in Kolkata shyambazar branch. Their expert staffs are expert by name. Once I went to cut my hair according to my face look. They just cut me layers & finished. They are same as the local beauty parlours, nothing special about them as a brand. I don't recommend Jawed Habib.

This message is towards Mrs. Pampa Chattopadhyay. I am very sorry for what happened with you in Jawed Habib's but i want to let u know that the day u visited the salon i was the girl sitting beside ur chair and was taking a straightening service. As per my knowledge the staff mrs. Gita told u the cost of straightening would be Rs. 5000 which i heard twice. It may had happened on ur part that due to lots of noise during rush hours u could not listen to her words.
Whatever happened with u was actually undesirable but the accumulation of staf[censored]sing slangs on u and the threatening to pay the bill is an absolutely false allegation from ur side. If anyhow you were not aware of the charges you should have used your brains that no salon would give a service of 5 hours for just Rs. 500.
