Jeevan Saral — Bad Service

I've had LIC's Jeevan Saral Policy for more than a Year now. I pay premium monthly and intially I set up ECS to pay my monthly premiums. In June, I joined a new employer who opened a new salary a/c. I had to cancel the ECS from the old bank a/c and set up a new one.
I filled the relevant form and submitted to the LIC agent who confirmed the ECS will be in force from next month. However, My bank didn't receive any instruction from LIC to pay them the premium. I spoke the agent and explained the same. The agent assured me that they have taken a some of rs1021 from my a/c on 28th and that the new premium will be due next month. I then spoke to the bank but they said there was premium having been payed to LIC on that date. Fed up, I called the advisor and demaned the proof of the receipt of the premium. Now, after 2 days he called me and apologised and said the premium was not payed. I was told LIC doesn't offer ECS facility for my bank a/c ( Barclays ).
I decided to pay premium in the nearby counter, but the counter refused to accept the payment saying the policy can only be payed in the home branch, which is in Laxmi Nagar. I decided to ask the agent to pay on my behalf as Laxmi Nagar is very far off from Rohini. But the agent makes the payment according to his wish. I've been incurring unnecessary late fees. My January premium was due on 28th but the agent didn't make the payment untill 03/02/2011 even though I deposited the cheque on 10/012011
