[Resolved]  Kingfisher Airlines — Complaint against last minute cancellation of flight‏

Hi

I did booking on 21st october for flight to Amritsar from Delhi and got confirmation details and PNR number same day.
Thereafter , I got another email from [protected]@Flykingfisher.com on[protected] stating that " Your booking is confirmed on Kingfisher Airlines flight IT4309/18OCT DEL-ATQ @1625 hrs. Your PNR is ITOFMY "
and gloomily got email one day before boarding that that "Dear Guest,FLIGHT IT 4309 DEPARTURE DEL IS CANCELLED FOR 18 OCT"
due to operational reasons.

I underwent great mental agony as I was scheduled to leave just after my marriage for visit to golden temple.My hotel was booked on 18 th and 19th oct and trip for places to be visited were finalized.I have to fight with Kingfisher Customer Care to get me alternate ticket but the ticket was at 1:30 AM on 19th october. I booked ticket of 2:20 pm considering some plan and expectations on 18th of Oct.I could have also booked ticket of Rs 1600 at 1:30 but booked ticket of kingfisher because they were more convenient to my planning and schedule.I have to cancel my plan of trip on 18th October only because of Kingfisher. Its was very inconvenient to board flight at 1:30 am and manage reaching hotel at night in Amritsar .To compensate mental stress I underwent a day before , I should be compensated with the difference of flight fares i.e. Rs 8000.

Kingfisher Airlines — Last minute cancellation of flight

Dear Sirs,

I had booked an air ticket for my father from Ahmedabad to Hyderabad by Kingfisher Airlines . The booking details are as under:

Guest Name - Mr. C V Viswanathan
Travel Date - 19/10/09
Flight no IT 3727
Ticket issue date - 10th August'09
Kingfisher Reservation code - FMPJSE
Ticket no.[protected]
Total Fare - Rs.3479/-

I received an SMS from Kingfisher Airlines on 17/10/09 at 20:55:22. The message was as under:

Dear Guest, we regret to inform you about the cancellation of your flight 3727 AMD-HYD on 19/10/09. Please call [protected] for details.

Since my father had to be in Hyderabad on 19/10 to meet some family exigencies, this last minute cancellation of flight by Kingfisher airlines created lot of confusion and mental stress to my father who is 78 years old. It was very very difficult for him him to run around looking for an alternate flight at the last minute.

After making several STD calls to his relatives in Mumbai and Hyderabad ( he is not internet savvy and Ahmedabad being a new place he did not know any travel agent) he could manage to get a seat in a Spicejet jet flight ( SG 397 ETD Ahmedabad 4 pm on Sunday 18/10/09 ). Since this flight was booked at the last minute we had to pay a fare of Rs.6683/-. His Spicejet airline pnr No. is N36CDW.

I would now like to claim compensation of Rs.20000/- for all the mental agony and extra expenses (on phone calls and flight booking )my father had to go through because of the last minute cancellation of your flight.

Would appreciate if you could look into the above matter on an urgent basis and arrange payment of the compensation claimed.

I would further like to state here that in case I do not hear from your office within 3 days I would be forced to take up this matter with the consumer court for redressal of our griavance.
