Residence — Frequent power failure at Midnight

I am residing in Trivandrum District at Valiathura. I cannot understand why the power goes out in the night at 1.45am on a rainy day always .Yesterday too it happened. It goes and comes when we try to call the KSEB in the number 2451432 it will be always engaged at that time.On 24th the power went at 10.30am and came at 5.30 pm and when we called the KSEB they told the work is going on and if they are rectifying the fault then why they cutting the power in the midnight. It is a regular practice. Every year when it rain there will a power cut in the midnight till morning at Valiathura. If they know that why they are not checking the lines in the summer times . What the hell they are doing . Please take this seriously. If no action is taken I will have to complaint to higher officials . What are these people doing with our Tax money no improvement

Valiathura — Power failure

Dear Sir

Is it true that the officials read this and take action against it. I am from valiathura. When it starts drizzling in the night the powers goes for 10 min then comes again it goes. We can understand that there is no complaint in the line they are purposely cutting it out or the are selling it to some one. Why it happens like this are there any high officials to take an action against them or all are on leave.
1) Very rude behaviour of staff of sub station , Ralegaon village Yavatmal district .
2) No control on staff members by unit head, they act according to their will .
3) If any files complaint against staff they give answer that do whatever u can nobody can harm us .

Resolve the matter as early as possible , looking forword towards your co-operation in this context .
1. During last week of May, 2010, there was a heavy rain shower and there was power failure 1000 hours, I started dialing to your HELP LINE on the mobile no.[protected]/2, there was no response, it was giving message either Mobile busy with other call or out of reach and sometimes, it is found not responding. I also tried the Mobile of SDE mobile no.[protected] (Mr. Kathale), It was found not responding. I sent SMS with message on Mobile of both the Mobiles about power failure and expected that either of them could response. None of them revered back and my whole efforts remained fruitless. Helplessly, I and my family spent whole night without Fan during this Hot season, just like it is a curse. It was sleepless night due to power failure. When I dialed at 1000 hours, a lady lifted the phone and got registered our complaint. When I asked her to give the name of the official on duty during night, she replied that she is for registering the Complaints and not for giving the details of who are on duty during night. I also dialed the mobile no. [protected] (Mr. Kathale), and asked him to check up SMS message, he did not answer and replied that power failure was due to trees falling on live overhead wires and unless trees falling on live wire is not cut by PMC, power supply can not be restored. I could not understand that most of the area of Salisbury Park are now arranged power supply thro’ under ground cable and in our road side, it is overhead wires.

2. On 14.06.2010, there was again a rain shower and power failure whole night. I got the same experience about your Help Lines. Without wasting time in dialing, I registered our complaint at 1000 hours and power was not restored till evening of 15.06.2010.
We stay at virar (west), tirupatinagar phase 2. In our area we receive supply from faulty cable since last 3 years where we have to face problem of frequent electricity failure.Last week the entire cable has become faulty and after our complain the connection to 8 buildings in our locality were given from other network but we are not able to switch on our elevator system of our society as this would result in another cable failiure. Despite several complains cable in our area in not replaced and we all faces problems. so we request the divisional head of MSEB to attain our complain and replace the cable system and cover the distribution box with iron cupboard since all distribution points are kept open which is dangerious particularly in rainy season.
I am giving particulars of my bill for your reference. My mob no is [protected].

I'm a resident of Dombivali, District Thane. I wish to bring to your kind notice that off lately, I have witnessed frequent power failures in my vicinity.

The power failure occurs between 7:00am to 8:00am especially when one is in a hussle to leave for the office. Now, that electricity has become a crucial part of one's life, it becomes really very frustating and annoying especially when you are in a hurry to leave or have to do routine household chores.

You being a utility service provider have to ensure that your consumers are not put to any kind of discomfort and have to ensure that there is an uniterrupted supply of electricity from your end all the times.

All your policies are one-sided policies. In the event of we paying the bill late by few days beyond the stipulated date, we are immediately penalized charges towards late payment, whereas, if there are days of frequent power failure from your side no such monetary benefits are passed on to us. Why is it so? It should be a give and take policy mutually benefitting both the sides.

On lodging our complaints via phone, your representatives are also very rude and impolite in answering to our queries. In such a scenario, to whom should we address our grievances to?

Please be informed that, in the event of you not paying any heed to my complaint, I will be compelled to approach the media and lodge my grievance in this matter elaborately.

Anticipating a favourable response from your end.

Resident of Dombivli, Thane District
My 92 year old mother lives in Talegaon Dabhade. She has always paid her electricity bills well before they were due and has receipts for the past 6 years to prove it. In March she didn't get her electricity bill and when asked was told that there was a credit of Rs 300 on her account, so they didn't send her a bill. In April she gets a bill for Rs 9, 000 ! The exact same thing happened to my older brother some years ago and in his case it was Rs 36, 000. He went to the MSEB office several times to straighten this out and the official in charge is never there. Each time he waited for at least forty minutes. My brother is 76 years old, has suffered a stroke and can barely walk. I don't know if this was a genuine mistake or just a big racket to extract money from vulnerable customers. They always target helpless old people. Whoever is doing this should be pulled up and sacked immediately but since this is India anything goes and the public is at the mercy of these rude, illiterate thugs. I am told unless you 'know' somebody in the establishment this matter won't be resolved.
