[Resolved]  Maruti Suzuki Swift VDi — Noise in the front

Dear sirs,

I'm the owner of Swift Vdi, purchased during May 2009 (KA 02 MD 5891). I have driven it only 2200 kms so far. From the time I started driving this car I have found strange noise coming from the suspensions or the struts. Apart from that, there is a also a squeaky noise that's coming from the bonnet or from the windscreen, not sure from where this noise is generating.

First visit -
When I took the car to the Bimal service station, Bangalore they found the issue and greased the suspensions telling me that it's the sound generating from the strut as the grease got dried up.

After the service, I drove the car back home. The next day similar problem started. Since I was out of station I couldn't make it to the service centre again but still I managed to take the car within the next 5 days.

Second visit -
During the next service the technicians told me that there was a problem with the Link rods and they replaced the rods. Now when I got the car out of the service centre, I found similar problem in the front end of the car. I can still hear some cranky sound and I don't see a solution for it.

I'm very disappointed, after spending so much of money on a new car I can't afford to hear these crazy noise. They haven't fixed it yet, I also asked them to re-check the suspensions or replace them but nothing has worked out so far. I'm worried if Maruti Suzuki is going to help me to solve this issue once for all.

I'm seeing so many complaints in this website and I don't know if people are resolved with the issues. God bless them.

I'm requesting you to do the needful.

Thanks
Ganesh Ravi

Mr. Ravi Ganesh,

I am too facing the same problem in my Wagor R LXI car which I recently purchased from Magic Auto. After Ist service(warranty) it has developed a kind of strange crazy noise in the front side. I took the car to Magic Auto's service station. After a few sorties, the mechanic conviced that the noise had gone. But as I got out of the service station, it restarted again.Service adviser/mechanic of the station are not competent enough to determine the cause. Actually, they are more interested in eliminating the complaint registered in their computer rather than attending on it honestly. After having spend huge amount purchasing this car I feel disappointed at the hands of incompetent staff of magic auto. Absolutely, there is no body to listen, either in Maruti Suzuki company or in the authorised service centre. Bhagwan hi malik hai.
Hello Ganesh,

I also agree with you. My swift also has the same problem. Either the problem is from shocker or some suspension link. I have reported this problem to Apra third time but of no use.

Do u know any higher authorities whom i can contact regarding this problem.

Hi:
I have a swift dzire LDI which is 6 months old now and has done only 2500Km, and
makes the same squeaking noise presumably coming from the suspension coils
in the front: The first time I took it in (SAI SERVICE Andheri West, Mumbai), the
service advisor could not hear anything because it was raining heavily. The second
time, a mechanic heard the sound, and told me it was a minor matter of some lubricant
oil getting washed away from the space just below the bottom-most turn of the front suspension springs and the support below, and this area developing some rust cover as a result.

He removed the front wheels and oiled the small gap below the bottom turn of the coil, and put back the wheels, and sure enough the sound stopped.

I was very impressed until I realized two days later that the sounds had re-started, perhaps
after the underside got sprayed with water while driving over a slightly waterlogged
stretch of road.

So clearly, this is not a full solution although putting the oil there did really stop
the squeaks for a couple of days.

Anybody managed to get their service center to come up with a real solution to a similar
problem? Maybe some grease that actually stays in place?

Kedar
Hi Everyone,

I had the same issue with my Swift VDI 6 months old. Done 10, 000Kms. So I took the car to the workshop to have a look at 3rd service at Mohali(Punjab). It was a squezing noise. I checked the dashboard where the clock is on the VDI but to no avail. Service advisor told me that it is coming from the front windscreen as the windscreen locks are not taking the weight of the windscreen and it makes noise when the car crosses from the un even road. They told me this is a known issue and it comes on every 2nd or 3rd swift running on the road. He told me that they have to put the sealent on the locks of the windscreen under the wiper blades and I have to pay for it. I told him that it is under warranty as it is a manufacturing defect. They dont agree and when I told them that I am a CSI A Star customer they said they will do the job for free. They have done the Job very nicely. I have to park the car for atleast 12hrs for the sealent to get dry. I dont have any more issues. If you guys above are facing the same issue then get to the Maruti dealership/workshop and tell them to rectify the problem.
Hi,

I have a swift VDI 3 years and 35000 kms done. I have the same problem since 8000 Kms. I approached the showroom for more than 30 times for the same problem.. they say it is because of the lubricant.. link rods ... suspension bushes..blah blah blah ... . I keep on complaining about this problem more frequently and they started adjusting the damper... for few days it will be ok but.. it also makes the steering hard each time you adjust it.. even I approached the service manger in the head office and he confirmed it as a damper problem .. swift comes with a electronic power steering which is located at the bottom which causes this problem.. so almost all everyone has the same prob I think.. if not .. he is lucky :-)
