[Resolved]  MetLife — Cheating

I am Abhishek Khurana, I had Policy of MetLife. Policy No 2002397.
I had taken this policy in the month of May '09. And had not receive the
policy till Nov'09.I had contacted sales team regarding my policy.
And always i got the message its in process.On 10th of Nov'09 I got sms on
my mobile no [protected] reminding to pay the premium.As it was due on Nov' 09.
After that i made a call to customer service and told the representative that i had not received the policy till now. He told me that they had already delivered the policy in the month of June '09 and some one Mr Singh had received the policy at my place.Well there is no Mr Singh at my place.So i left with a question who is lying to me either sales team or customer care officer.I asked the officer to please give the courier company details who had delivered the policy.He told me it don't have any details with him.They only have Courier company name and POD no.
So that means Metlife is cheating with customer.Because there is fault in there system they don't have the proper information what their vendors (Courier Company) are doing. And when customer ask for vendor information they are helpless.

Well after that i received My Policy Kit on 2nd Dec '09. With a Cover Letter on it dated 28th Nov'09. After reading terms & conditions i felt cheated and not agree on them. So i requested Metife to cancel the Policy in Freelook. Regarding this i had submitted the policy documents in Noida Sec 63 branch on 8 the Dec '09.

On the 16 Dec '09 i got a letter from Metlife that my request for FreeLook of the policy had been canceled as they had already delivered the policy in the month of June '09. I again make a call to metlife regarding this stuff that i hadn't receive the policy in the month of June'9. And do a proper investigation with courier vendor and with your system.

I had checked my Policy Kit.There was a WELCOME LETTER date NOV 28, 2009.
That means the policy was first delivered to me in the month of DEC'09 because if it was delivered to me in the month of June'9 than there must be respective date on the Welcome Letter. Not in the month of June'09.


So I have sent these complain mail to you as a higher authority with lots of expectations and I am praying for justice and necessary action against the guilty. I further request you to help me to get my money back as soon as possible.

I AM PATIL PRAMOD RAGHUNATH ONE OF YOUR POLICY HOLDER HAVING POLICY NUMBER 00841647.I HAD APPLIED FOR THIS POLICY IN THE MONTH OF MARCH 2009. I HAD COMPLETED ALL YOR FORMALITIES.BUT SINCE THIS TIME I DON'T RECIEVE ANY POLICY BOND.ON MY FIRST COMPLIENT TO YOU I HAD REQUEST YOU TO REFUND THE POLICY IN FREE LOOK PERIOD. BUT DUE TO THE NEGLIGENCY OF ONE YOUR EMPLOYEE IT WAS RECEVIED BY YOU AFTER THE FREE LOOK PERIOD. WHILE I REPORT THIS MATTER TO YOUR CUSTEMER CARE HE ADVISED ME TO REPORT THIS MATTER TO IRDA.SO I AM FORWARDING ONE OF MY APPLICATION TO IRDA.

this beign very confidential document and it should be handed over to the policy holder only.So i left with a question who is lying to me either sales team or customer care officer.I asked the officer to please give the details who had delivered the policy.He told me it don't have any details with him.

Well after that i received My Policy Kit on 11th Apr '10. Without Cover Letter to Some One else. After reading terms & conditions i felt cheated and not agree on them.Because they Have Taken the Cheque to Make the fixed deposite And Cheque to the favour of Met-life(only Met-life) And they had Also told me you can withdrawl the Money with in a year. So i requested Metife to cancel the Policy in Freelook. Regarding this i had submitted the policy documents in Wazirpur branch on 11th Apr '10.

On the 03May '10 i got a letter from Metlife that my request for FreeLook of the policy had been canceled as they had already delivered the policy in the month of Nov '09. I again make a call to metlife regarding this stuff that i hadn't receive the policy in the month of Nov'09. And do a proper investigation with courier vendor and with your system.
So I have sent these complain mail to you as a higher authority with lots of expectations and I am praying for justice and necessary action against the guilty. I further request you to help me to get my money back as soon as possible.

I am a cheated customer of metlife.
I took policy of 60k in oct 2009.

Now I wanted to close this policy and withdraw money. I check with for the procedure and got shocked to know if i cancel the policy even after the locking period, I should pay a penalty of 75% my first premium. i.e 75% of 60k thats a lot of money.

I had never experienced this big cheating in life before.. Be careful.
Few bad things I noticed (I am not good at market studies)
1. Very poor customer care. It may take 15 min minum to concate customer care executive and the behavior of those people are really insulting.
2. Metlife.co.in is a website hardly up and running
3. Poor performance mutual funds
4. On top of all, cheating customers with all sorts of hidden traps ( beware and be sure you read all documents before you take any metlife policy)
hi my case is a real shock to any body. i have taken a policy for sum assured 10 lakhs with a premium paid rs 2 lakhs annually. i paid my first premium of 2 lakhs on 28/02/2010 . as usual i recived the policy after 2 months. as i know the advisor i did not force him much . finally when i came to know the units alloted to me is only for 140000/- i was shocked and told them to cancell my policy and refund the money. since the free look time or some bla bla is over i need to wait till feb 2013 and can take the money back.
since i did not want to continue the policy i did not make my second premium paid and was waiting for 2013 feb.
my policy immediately went into lapse mode . but shockingly they started deducting money anothe 35000 for the second year and one more 40000 for the third year. stating the maintanance and administrative charges.
they have collected the administartive charges of 75000 for the lapsed policy .
now the real shocking news now is after all these the money leftover in forms nav which is around 90000/- ( from 2lakhs of investment after 3 years it became 90000/-) now the refund will be only 7500/-( seven thousand five hundred only ) as the surrender charges will be deducted.
first of all i was forced to wait for 3 long years to withdraw the money and my life coverage was withdrawn after first year, my policy was kept in lapsed mode and my money they have taken towards their administrative charges for a lapsed policy. and at the end of the day they wants to take the balance amount whatever was left over.

i request anybody can help me in getting my money back from metlife plz...
