PNB Metlife
I was approached on December 14, 2020 by a person named Alok Yadav (posing as an LIC employee) informing me about a huge bonus amount pending unclaimed in my LIC policy account. He told me that I have to obtain a policy management number to be able to claim that amount, otherwise the same shall be transferred to my LIC agent's (with whom I have no contact since 2017) account since he at the time of applying for my policy entered himself as my relative and entered his management number in my documents.
This Alok Yadav then raised a complaint against my past agent (which he claimed, after some acting skills) & provided me a complaint file number & then transferred my call to one Manish Pandey (posing as 2nd LIC employee from accounts & payment department, mobile [protected]).
Manish Pandey, further repeated the same story about the bonus amount & how I can claim it. He told me that I can obtain that management number from IRDA if I directly purchase any policy from any other Insurance company without any help from any agent. Also, I can't buy another LIC policy because the system will by default obtain my ex LIC agent's management number for the new policy (since I am an existing customer). So he insisted that I should search & choose any company & then buy a policy saying that I need that policy for tax saving purposes. Once I pay the application fee, I will get an application number & transaction number. These numbers will serve the purpose of holding my bonus amount of LIC from the time being & then once I get the bond copy of my new policy I will intimate the newly obtained policy management number to LIC & receive the bonus amount in my account in 25-30 days.
Further, he started suggesting me some Insurance company names (PNB Metlife was one of them) & since both him & the first guy Alok knew some basic information about my LIC policy I couldn't suspect their true intentions. After disconnecting the phone I received a call from some Mr. Vinay (posing as PNB Metlife employee, not any agent, mobile no. [protected]) & he told me that he found my contact number from a request made on PNB Metlife's website.
He started talking to me and explained one policy named "Guaranteed Money Back scheme" for which he told me all terms & conditions & told me its best for Tax saving purpose & is short term. As per him it's a 12 year policy for which I have to pay 30, 000 Rs annually. After a long explanation he told me to apply on PNB's website (https://www.pnbmetlife.com) and make the payment of Rs. 30, 000.
I didn't suspect him yet since I was making direct payment on the website of PNB Metife & not in any personal account. After making payment I received an acknowledgement letter on my email id (attached herewith).
So after making payment this Vinay told me that one person will visit my house & take my signed physical documents. First of all, I received a call from the LIC guys (who talked with me earlier) asking me if I purchased the policy or not. When I told them I had purchased it, they already knew it was a PNB Metlife policy. Plus they asked me the application number (which I told them & for which I have attached the recordings with this e-mail) & were very interested in my new policy & advised me to close it as soon as I receive my policy management number via PNB bond.
Meanwhile, I got a call from this guy who told me that he is a Company appointed documents pick up guy (mob no[protected] & he wants to visit me (for this purpose I already shared my house & office address with Vinay before) but then he started asking me if I am happy with policy or not. If I have any doubt or concern regarding policy sold by Vinay. I asked him why he is asking such questions & he told me that he is just asking generally as sometimes these PNB metlife people sell some fraud policies or tell wrong information to customers & then he has to suffer when he goes to fetch the documents physically.
I was shocked & terrified after hearing such a thing and then started investigating everything with the help of a friend who is also a policyholder in LIC & has the same policy as me. It took me a whole night of anxiety & sleeplessness to understand what actually happened with me.
I am writing this e-mail to you the next morning of all this incident (first call I received was on Monday afternoon) & today also since morning I am getting various calls from the supposed document pick up guy & the fake PNB Metlife employee who made me make a payment of Rs. 30, 000 yesterday.
I am deeply hurt & suffering from anxiety since last night & not in a good condition. I called your helpline today morning & they assured me that since my documents are not yet received the application is not yet processed. Also, he told me to write this e-mail & also contact some authorities in LIC too since it looks like a fraud.
Kindly help me & cancel this application number. Also, arrange for refunding my money because it's not about the policy or the Company image, it's about my mental health & loss of time & efforts I suffered since yesterday. Also, I want you to investigate this guy Vinay along with his accomplices who are fooling innocent people with their hard earned money.

Beware from PNB Metlife and their agent and not take any policy because PNB Metlife is protecting to fraud agents and not listing the innocent people. PNB will lost his name in coming times.

I am writing my story as because metlife and pnb cheated me a paralyzed and disabled in times of his difficulty, this blog is only way i can appeal and say my words to mass;
After reading my story you will reaslise:
- how metlife and pnb cheat innocent people and disabled people taking advantage fo their helplessness;
- how metlife and pnb are unsocial, inethical and inhuman organisations;
- you will reaalsie that insurance companies fo pnb and metlife who are not trustworthy and unreliable and extremely cheat organisations,
I appeal to human development organisations, national leaders to help me get my due medical insurance or due compensation for not giving em health insurance (Promised by prasanjit mitra a pnb emtlife manager working in preet vihar branch, new delhi,)
Pnb metlife india insurance co. Ltd policy number 21921383
In october 2014; i got a call from pnb metlife new delhi branch; i was explained about pnb metlife endowment saving plan which offered life and insurance benefits for 10 years on paying premium regularly; i asked for the proof in writing on which pnb metlife executive told me on call that a pnb metlife manager will visit you who will guide and give you his credentials;
Pnb metlife manager named prasanjit mitra from preet vihar branch visited me in october 2014;on asking the pnb metlife offer in writing he showed his id card and gave me his visiting card with pnb metlife email id, which i confirmed by writing email to his id as ("mitra, prasanjeet"); he told me that after paying first cheque you will get a policy document which will detail all details;
I was paralyzed and walking with crutches at that time and i also trusted why will a human cheat other human at time of difficulty and problems; trusting him as pnb emtlife manager, who si from reputed organization, i trusted and gave him the cheque to debit my hard earned income.
In few days i got my health cover note for 2 lakhs health insurance coverage by prasanjit mitra but for next one month i did not got my policy document; which might have been deliberately delayed by pnb metlife;
After reading the policy document which came after 2 months, i checked with prasanjit mitra who told me that we have external tie up on health insurance and you will keep getting the health insurance cover for next 10 years via star health;
After first year i have not got any health insurance note and i have raised this complaint to both irda and pnb metlife grievances;
But the very inhuman and inethical pnb metlife have not helped stating that the policy document does not include health cover; i feel cheated as prasanjit mitra still works at preet vihar branch, new delhi and his email id si still working and despite that pnb metlife has not tried to help me,
So i am appealing to all human around the planet to never trust or buy products from metlife or pnb; pnb and metlife are not only cheat, and inethical, but also extremely inhuman as they cheated me a disabled and paralyzed human in me in time of his difficulties;

Please note that, I had received a call from Mr. Ravi Kumar on dated 5/7/21 regarding heavy brokerage charges on my old policy no. 22277866 and advised me to surrender this policy and take fresh one to avoid high brokerage charges on your policy and misguided me to cancel the policies after issuance and after that not picking my calls.

but pnb along with metlife cheated me through its manager named prasanjit mitra;
since prasanjit mitra from pnb metlife cheated me, i have taken oath to work for entire world population in making sure my story gives lessson to others and no one trusts pnb metlife insurance and savings plan.

he misgudied me by telling me wrong information about plan and then showed em a identity card of pnb metlife .
looking at pnb metlife employee card, i trusted that as pnba nd metlife are bog orgsniation, they will not cheat a needy and disabled person who was struggling with critical illness.
it has been 4 years and pnb metlife is not giving em my promised health cover nrenewal which aas promised and i got the same as part fo policy and as promised in 2014 ;
but since alst 3 years the cheat prasanjit mitra;
if someone finds parsanjit mitra please spit on his face for cheating a disabeld and i warn and request readers to never ever trust managers working in pnb ro metlife or pnbmetlife to take any products and please never buy any products from pnb, or metlife or pnb metlife, .

Hello everyone i liked to informed you this metlife co. Lower parel in mumbai., he was hire me for 10 days driver job own is vehicle after the 10 days i was leaves therefore they're never given my payments and not receiving my called also who's this person's tim or joyce both are telling lie we're already online transferred to your account but i still not received...!

This is regarding my experience on policy. Ever since i took my policy, i have to chase your salesman named prasanjit, i speak to him, he keeps me waiting for 2-3 weeks before helping me out and i end up giving very bad feedback..
In all these years, anyone who asked me feedback on my pnb metlife policy it is nagatively and i also promise this will be my last product with pnb metlife..
1. I have no clarity on how my investments are growing, and what are various bonus or increases declared on my policy
2. I have no clarity on my life insurance promised as part of policy..
3. I am not given health insurance for last 2 years, but i have to chase for the same to get cash back. I have no clarity on how my premium will get reduced as i am not taking any health insurance..
I need someone to explain but your customer care does not have any clue and they have no idea on my returns or bonus and insurance promised by your sales.
I request you to ask your associate to guide me on this and help else i have to raise poor service and wrong promises issue with irda
I will have to abuse and condemn pnb metlife on various websites, complaint about pnb metlife cheating people of india by wrong promises and misusing a nationalised bank name to pnb authorities, to rbi, finance minister.
And warn people of india to never take pnb metlife policies as pnb metlife as cheat organisation, who sell their policies by giving false assurance to people of india and by fooling their customers..

Regarding Surrender of my policy
Dear Sir,
I have took Metlife insurance poilice on 2009, Premium value 15000 / year. I have paid my yearly premium for 3 years. Tottaly I have paid 45000 for 3 years. Now they says its value has come to Rs.48000.Now if I Surrender the policy, I will get Only Rs.38000.00. Problem is that, Even i not able to get my amount which I have Paid. When I taking new policy they assured that 20 to 40% on return on my Investment. But Now, I am not getting the Bank interest also. These Insurance company's are bluffing the people by showing attractive returns. Why the Authorities are simply silent. My request is, please help to to take further step in this matter.

Screwed Online Access/Premium Notice PWDs/Lack of assistance

Metlife Monthly Income Plan-MMIP-Policy Number[protected]
Dear Metlife,
I have tried all possible ways to log in to my Metlife account using http://metcustomer.metlifeportal.co.in/wps/portal/metcustomer, all it allows me to reset Login Password successfully and after resetting Login Password it doesnt allow me to Login using Login ID and new set password.
So as the case of my Renewal Premium Notice pdf file, the default password it says to input my DOB in DDMMYYYY but that also fails. When I input my numerical DOB in DDMMYYYY it says Passsword is incorrect that the Caps Lock could be ON. I wonder how Caps Lock issue with numerical nos.
See attached screen shots. I am fedup with Metlife's services. No one in local branch to support and all other ways tried doesnt work. Is there any way I can get my money paid back to my account with interest and I can close business with Metlife for ever?

Hello,
This is to inform or advise or warn people who are planning to invest in Metlife India. The surrender value that Metlife charges is 70% of the total premiums paid. I got this confirmed from Metlife email support but the same is not mentioned while you take up the policy, the terms and conditions does not mention the number 70% as a loss if we surrender before maturity.
Below is the email that I received from Metlife:
Dear Mr. Suman
Greetings from MetLife!
This is with reference to your e-mail, regarding above mentioned policy number. We would like to inform you that as per the product feature, policy acquires a surrender value only if the policy has been in force for at least 3 years - provided all premiums have been paid for 3 full policy years. If premiums are paid for at least three consecutive years the policy acquires a surrender value which is equal to 30% of the premiums paid excluding the first year premium and extra premiums.
We would like to inform you that we are in receipt of surrender request for the policy and the same has been processed. The surrender amount of Rs.9600 has been credited to your account on 26 June 2012. Please refer the below table for the surrender value calculation for your reference.

This is to inform or advise or warn people who are planning to invest in Metlife India. The surrender value that Metlife charges is 70% of the total premiums paid. I got this confirmed from Metlife email support but the same is not mentioned while you take up the policy, the terms and conditions does not mention the number 70% as a loss if we surrender before maturity.
Below is the email that I received from Metlife:

Greetings from MetLife!
This is with reference to your e-mail, regarding above mentioned policy number. We would like to inform you that as per the product feature, policy acquires a surrender value only if the policy has been in force for at least 3 years - provided all premiums have been paid for 3 full policy years. If premiums are paid for at least three consecutive years the policy acquires a surrender value which is equal to 30% of the premiums paid excluding the first year premium and extra premiums.
We would like to inform you that we are in receipt of surrender request for the policy and the same has been processed. The surrender amount of Rs.9600 has been credited to your account on 26 June 2012. Please refer the below table for the surrender value calculation for your reference.

MetLife — low surrender amount
I had two insurance policies of metlife.I have done only one payment against thier 3 year payments.though the NAV says Rs 26K against my payment of 25K each in two policies,the company says that they will refundonly 30% of 25K.is it correct? Policy No: 20565907

Unfair business Practice and not complying the terms and conditions for surrender benefit

On 15/07/2011, Mr.Salesh.P.C, CSO, Metlife conducted medical tests in their panel M/s. Shankars Clinic, Alleppey in presence of Mr.Satheesh Krishnan. Further they took my signature in blank PF No. [protected] for a single time policy of Rs,1 lakh, convinced me that since the PF requires some technical expertise to fill it up, they will complete the formality on my behalf.
On 17/07/2011 at Coimbatore, I drawn a DD No. 908814 dated 17/07/2011 for `1 lakh in favour of Metlife Kottayam and send it through courier along with the copy of my salary slip for the periode of Jun-July 2007 to Mr.Biju Joseph, Geogit Alleppey with a written request to hand it over to Mr.Jijo since the former was introduced me to Metlife.
During the month of September 2007, the policy document received at my native place address Alleppey, Kerala and the same was remained at my home since I was at my work place Coimbatore. Further that, somebody called from Metlife on my given mobile number and asked me whether I got the policy document or not and for that I confirmed the same that the document received at my home which was not opened. But the caller does not inform me anything about the contents of the policy document. Further in the month of October 2007, when I was at my home on leave, I checked the courier received from Metlife which contains the following documents (Xerox copies enclosed):
1. policy document vide policy No.[protected] date of issue 14/09/2007,
2. terms & conditions in 14 pages dated Karnataka stamp duty dated 19/09/2007
3. Xerox copy of PF No.[protected] dated 17/07/2007 with Metlife Inward seal dated 26/07/2007.
4. FPR No. FPR/2007/0138583 dated 19/09/2007 with Karnataka stamp duty.
5. Statement of account as on 14/09/2007 dated 19/09/2007
In pursuance to the policy document, some female caller from Metlife contacted me and asked about the receipt of all documents. Further she enquired me that, whether I was interested in life assurance or investment. I replied her that I have opted the same as a onetime investment. She paid regards as usual and end up the conversation.
On October 2007, I again received one cover from Metlife which contains the following documents:
1. covering letter named Medical report for application #KLK[protected] dated 16/10/2007
2. Xerox copy of receipt from Sankars Clinical Lab & ECG, Alappuzha dated 15/07/2007 for urine test
3. Three Xerox copies of receipt from Sankars Clinical Lab & ECG, Alappuzha dated 15/07/2007 for blood report.
4. Xerox copy of ECG graph
5. Tread mill test summary report of Sankars Clinical Lab & T.M.T, Alappuzha date which is illegible to read
On perusal of the whole correspondence received from Metlife , I noticed several contradictions which are as follows:
1. Blood test & urine test conducted on 15/07/2007, but the PF & DD dated is on 17/07/2007.
2. DD drawn at SBI, Coimbatore on 17/07/2007 and the filled up PF is also 17/07/2007 place Alleppey.
3. PF and DD accepted by Metlife, Kottayam on 26/07/2007 but policy commencement date was 14/09/2007 after a lapse of about 2 months.
4. The PF filled by some other person and does not bear any name or signature of the person who filled the PF.
5. Though the provision for remittance of money in the mode of crossed cheque, compelled me to deposit by the mode of DD.
When informed the matter to Mr.Salesh. P.C, CSO/Metlife over phone, he replied that these all are normal mistakes and did not affect me in any way, so not to worry about that. He added that, the other matter like the terms of the policy will be as such as I desired. Hence I was confident about the reply of the responsible official of Metlife, I seldom sit on my investment.
The whole things becomes a dispute when during the month of September 2008, I received several calls from call centre personnel’s and insisted me to remit the regular premium of about one lakh for the year 2008. I explained the entire above episode and the assurance given by Mr.Salesh.P.C, CSO/Metlife while applying the policy as a onetime investment. I felt that all my explanations fall in dumb ears, when I hear the version that the policy conditions are for a regular one and could not able to change it in to one time policy. The drama continued in the month of September 2009 also and they warned me that if the amount of `2 lakhs comes as dues not paid, my policy will lapse and the entire amount will forfeit. I requested the call centre personnel’s to connect me to some of the responsible persons of Metlife, but not done.
During the year 2011, again I received a call from the call centre and some offer has been given to me for renewal of the policy duly paying all the dues. When I hesitated, they informed me that operate the option of surrender and the surrender benefit will be as per the terms & conditions of the policy document. Further on my request they informed me that on surrender I may get approximately `30,000/- after deducting all the charges as mentioned in the T&C.
In this connection, I send an email to [protected]@metlife.com on July 8th 2011, duly narrating all the facts and requested to return my whole amount since the policy was technically misselled to me. My mail was replied by one Mr. Vikram V, Senior Executive, Grievance Redressal Team from Metlife on July 20th, 2011. In which he replied that the free look periode was over and cannot cancel the policy, but I can surrender the policy as per the terms and conditions sent along with the policy. Unfortunately he never said anything about the queries raised by me.
The contradictions came in to my notice only on 16/10/2007 (date of receipt for Xerox copies of medical tests) after expiring about one month from 19/09/2007, when I received the policy documents. Either they may knowingly delayed to send the Xerox copies of medical tests to simply pass the free look periode of 15 days with a malafide intention or to conceal the facts from me. Though the copies of all documents with the company, knowing the above said improper practice, Sri.Vikram.V, Senior Executive, Grievance Redressal Team, Metlife replied on his e-mail interaction ID:[protected] dated 20/07/2011 that the matter should be intimated to the company within the free look periode and now the company is not in a position to accept my allegations about the mistakes noted by me. But I can opt for surrender benefit which will come around ` 16,328.04 approximately for ` 1 Lakh.
When I gone through all the policy T&C send to me, I found that the clause 15 exclusively says about the conditions for Surrender benefit which reads as in page No.7 as- No surrender value is payable during the first three years of the policy. After the first three policy years, the Surrender Value payable on Surrender is equal to the Fund Value in the Unit Account less the surrender charge as mentioned in clause 11(D).
The clause 11 shown in page No.5, heading as Charges with sub clauses serially numbered as:
1. Premium allocation charge(page 5)
2. Fund management charge(page5)
3. Policy administration charge(page5)
4. Surrender charge(page6)
5. Switching charge(page6)
6. Mortality charge(page6)
7. Rider premium charge(page6)
8. Partial withdrawal charge(page6)
9. Miscellaneous charge(page7)
It is understood that, the charges if any related to surrender benefits to this policy is extensively be mentioned in Clause 11(D) as per the “Clause 15 Surrender Benefit” of policy T&C. But here in this policy document T&C, the Clause 11(D) is not incorporated and the reason best to known to the company only. When I queried the insurer under what provisions of T&C of the policy my premium amount is attracting surrender charges, they replied that the surrender charges are applicable as per clause 11-4 of the T&C. But the insurer who drafted the policy terms and conditions forgotten to give definitions or explanations for the clause 11(D) which incorporated in clause 15 for surrender benefit. As any layman can see that the Clause 15 is exclusively governing about the conditions for surrender and in which it is clearly stated that “…… the surrender charge as mentioned in clause 11(D)” not as clause 11-4.
When raised up this matter to the knowledge of the appropriate authorities of the concern they also have different opinions and contradictory explanations which are as follows:
-Sri.Vikram.V, Senior Executive, Grievance Redressal Team informed me that the policy owner has the option to surrender the policy after three years and for further clarification refer the surrender clause in the T&C.(from which is clear that the surrender benefit is governing by the surrender clause in the T&C). Further he accepted that is an “incorrect detail” in relation to the disputed clause 11(D).
In another reply, the same officer mentioned that surrender and other charges details are available in the policy document page 5 and 6 for further clarifications.
-Sri. Sathyappa.K, Senior Executive, Grievance Redressal Team stated in his e-mail that the surrender clause is available in page No.5 and 6 of the policy document in detail. (the surrender charges mentioned exclusively in page No.6 and the clause for surrender benefit is mentioned in page No.7)
-Sri.Kapil Sharma, Senior Manager, Grievance Redressal Team had different opinions and explanations for the clarification about the 11(D) in the T&C which are as follows:
o The referred clause pertaining to surrender in the policy document is to be read conversely i.e. 11-4 & 11-D (not 11-D it is 11(D). I think no value for the words and expressions in a contract agreement)
o The reference there is made to clause 11 and sub clause 4 which has details pertaining to surrender (surrender benefit or surrender charge?)
o There is no mistake in the policy terms & conditions and more specifically to the surrender clause (then why the clause 11(D), moreover there is no such clause termed surrender in the T&C?)
o The surrender charges are applicable as per clause 11-4 mentioned in the T&C (clause 11-4 is mentioned with some surrender charges but what about the surrender charges as per clause 11(D) mentioned in clause 15?)
o Clause 11 and subsection 4 are to be read conversely as 11(D) and the nomenclature used (if such what about the other clauses like 11(A), 11(E), 11(H) and 11(I) mentioned in the policy T&C?)
o There is no change in the policy document or the terms and conditions of the policy, what we are trying to explain is that we need to interpret the numbering conversely (if there is no change in the policy document or the terms and conditions, why to interpret conversely when 11-4 and 11(D) since the earlier one is numeric and the later is alphanumeric?. It can be accepted if mentioned 11.4 or 11(4) for eg.)
o The surrender clause is explicitly mentioned in clause 11 and subsection 4, hence there is no ambiguity in terms of the applicable charges. Now under clause 15, the reference given is to clause 11(D), which is to be read as 11(4) (here again mentioned clause 11(4) instead of 11-4. Moreover, if there is no change or mistake happened in the policy document T&C why one should read 11(D) as 11(4)?)
o There is no mistake and the clause is to be interpreted in conjunction and conversely (what is the reason or intention of putting 11(D) in clause 15?)
o We have already re-iterated that there is no mistake in the policy document but I do agree that to make it simpler to comprehend we could have mentioned 11(4) (still they are confusion about the clause 11-4 or 11(4). If there is no mistake then why to simplify and to comprehend?)
o We would like to reiterate the surrender charges are applicable as per clause 11-4 mentioned in the terms and conditions of the policy ( what about the surrender charges mentioned in clause 11(D) as spelt in clause 15)
From the above it is pertinent to say that, the uppermost authority of the company itself could not able to give transparent and crystal clear explanations/clarifications within the legal frame which governed the insurance industry. But they are very particular about to deduct the charges illegally from this policy, though what are all the surrender charges not mentioned in the policy document terms & conditions in reference to clause 11(D).
From the changing versions of Mr.Kapil Sharma, it is clear that the company had committed a blunder mistake of non incorporation of clauses 11(A), 11(D), 11(E), 11(H) & 11(I) and its contents in the terms and conditions. Now they are giving vague, irrelevant and unconstitutional explanations to claim their mistake as legal.
Above all, on 08/09/2011, the company sent one Ms. Anitha.M, Branch Service Manager, Metlife, Trichy and one Mr.Shiva, some executive of Metlife, Trichy along with one other person, visited my office at around 01.15hrs in the afternoon and verified all the policy documents duly took Xerox copy of page No.5 & 6 of the policy documents. They also thoroughly gone through all documents and orally accepted that as per the T&C, my policy does not attract any type of charges. Added that may be it is a mistake committed by the company and they will send a report to the company as such. But on 09/09/2011, Mr.Vikram.V, Senior Executive of the company reverted by email, stating that, they are not in a position to refund the fund value or waive the charges, since the surrender and other charges are available in the policy document in page No.5& 6. Later Sri. Manjunath.H.C, GRO, Metlife by his interaction on my mobile from[protected] on 12/09/2011 at 14:51PM for a call duration of 00:02:57 hrs, also confirmed the version of former in the same line that the clause 11(D) should be read as clause 11.4 and it is a mere printing mistake. From the version of both the executives, it is clear that the company does not give any value or veracity of the words, expressions, clauses, sub clauses, legal validity of the policy document as they change it accordingly for the benefit of their concern not to the policy holder.
Apart from the unincorporated T&C in clause 11(D), there are several other clauses are mentioned in the T&C of the policy document which were not incorporated or explained. They are:
1. In page No.8, Clause 16. Partial withdrawal, 3rd para reads as – the partial withdrawal amount will be paid by encashing units from the surrender value of the withdrawable part as detailed in the surrender provisions after deducting the partial withdrawal charges as mentioned in clause 11(H).
2. In page No.9, Clause 17. Sub heading Premium (Re)direction, 2nd para reads as – you would have the option to change the premium allocation proportions once every policy year free of charge. Subsequent changes would be considered as an alteration and would attract a miscellaneous charge as detailed in clause 11(I).
3. In page No.9, Clause 17. Sub heading Unit Allocations, 1st para reads as – Net premiums (paid before the premium due date) after premium allocation charge as in clause 11(A) will be used to buy units in the Unit Linked Funds using the Net Asset Value as on the premium due date.
4. In page No.9, Clause 17. Sub heading Unit Allocations, 2nd para reads as - Net premiums (paid after the premium due date) after premium allocation charge as in clause 11(A)(Net Premiums) will be used to buy units in the Unit Linked Funds using the Net Asset Value as below:
5. In page No.11, Clause 23. Switches between Unit Linked Funds, 1st para reads as- Switching between Unit Linked Funds can be done at any time after the first six months by submitting a written request to the company. On request the Fund Value in the Unit Account can be switched to the new Unit Linked Fund after deducting the switching charge as mentioned in clause 11(E).
As such, it is evident that, either, there may be some conditions and terms as per the alphanumeric clauses 11(A) to 11(I) in clause 11 and that are exclusively governing some conditions on the related issues as mentioned above. Since the policy issued to me does not attracts any charges for Partial withdrawal vide Clause 11(H), Premium (Re) direction vide clause 11(I), Unit allocation vide Clause 11(A), Switches between unit linked funds vide Clause 11(E) and at last Surrender charge as mentioned in Clause 11(D), because the conditions governing to the above spheres are not incorporated in the policy document issued to me.
Or in other hand, the company intentionally left about the above clauses categorically to suppress or conceal the real facts regarding the clauses from the policy holder to engage them in the insurance to flourish their business.
If it is all printing mistakes, the company can amend or correct the mistakes as per Clause 10 - Other conditions governing unit linked funds-Changes to terms and conditions in page No.4 and that also has been not done.
After exhausting all the redressal mechanisms provided by the insurance company, my statutory right of surrendering the policy as per the terms and conditions is still unsolved and unheard by the company. Without any fear or guilty conscious the company clearly stated that they can’t surrender the policy without surrender charge and clarifying their status quo without any legal aspects added with an advice to me that if I am not satisfied with their stand raise up the issue with Insurance Ombudsman.
On the other hand, while settling a claim for a policy, if an irrelevant mistake or fault in the documents will be lead to the dismissal of the claim, but the above severe mistake committed by the company is not taking in to consideration. In both ways the customer will become scapegoat.
When the complaint does not find any satisfactory deliverance from the insurance company, I escalated the matter to IRDA vide token No.[protected] dated 26th Sep., 2011. In this regard the IRDA vide their letter dated 13th Oct., 2011, advised me to raise the issue with Ombudsman, since the nature of grievance falls within the scope of RPG Rules 1998. Even though the matter escalated to IRDA, the insurance company replied they are in the same status quo to not return my money as per Clause 15 of the terms and conditions of policy.
It is nothing but clear cut violation of policy T&C and core ethics of Insurance business. Hence it is requested that, taking in to consideration of all the above said evidences, treat the policy contract as void for the mistakes committed by the insurer to protect the interest of policy holder. Keeping in view of the above developments, it is sincerely upraised the following as legal rights to claim my invested amount of one lakh with benefits:
a) The policy terms and conditions clause 15 solely explaining about the terms for surrendering a policy after completion of three years.
b) Though the surrender charges mentioned in clause 11-4, the surrender charges attracted to this policy as per clause 15 in the event of providing surrender benefit to any policy holder is clearly mentioned that the surrender charges as per 11(D).
c) The unambiguous clause for charges in clause 11 running from page 5 to 7 of the policy terms and conditions explains about surrender charges as per clause 11-4 but not mentioned anything about what are all the surrender charges as per clause 11(D). Hence using clause 11-4 for deducting surrender charges from this policy is violation of policy terms and conditions and also violating the contract agreement.
d) The other charges like unit allocation charge is also clearly mentioned in clause 19 and in which it is explicitly mentioned that the premium allocation charge as per clause 11(A) will be deducted from the net premium paid before the premium due date. The company used the clause 11-1 of the policy terms and conditions to deduct the aforesaid charges from this policy are violation of policy terms and conditions and also violating the contract agreement.
e) The contents of this policy document and terms & conditions to be treated as a legal document by virtue of registering under stamp duty Act. However, any changes in the law, legislation or taxation, change in circumstances etc. can be done only with the prior approval of IRDA which is clearly mentioned in clause10. Without adopting all these legal frameworks, the company or its representatives or the authorized persons cannot interpret any words, phrases, numbers, letters, combinations of numbers/symbols/letters etc.
During the period of correspondence with the company in conflict with the clause on surrender charge mentioned in clause 15, the company adopted some other method to pacify me with a third party. The reply e-mail of Mr.Vikram.V dated 17th Aug 2011 is very much evident that the company is behind the episode. If they are in a safe corner why they adopted such mal practices to settle the issue?
Quoting all the above facts and with documentary evidence the issue has escalated to Insurance Ombudsman on 09/03/2012 and they also rejected my complaint vide reference I.O(HYD):L[protected]/03 dated 14/03/12 delivered on 14/04/2012 with a reason that “The matter relating to the complaint is beyond the purview of the Office of the Insurance Ombudsman and hence it is not entertainable” but not mentioned what are all the reasons to reject my complaint.
If such is the situation how can a customer get justice for the mistake not committed by him.

The contradictions came in to my notice only on 16/10/2007 (date of receipt for Xerox copies of medical tests) after expiring about one month from 19/09/2007, when I received the policy documents. Either they may knowingly delayed to send the Xerox copies of medical tests to simply pass the free look periode of 15 days with a malafide intention or to conceal the facts from me. Though the copies of all documents with the company, knowing the above said improper practice, Sri.Vikram.V, Senior Executive, Grievance Redressal Team, Metlife replied on his e-mail interaction ID:[protected] dated 20/07/2011 that the matter should be intimated to the company within the free look periode and now the company is not in a position to accept my allegations about the mistakes noted by me. But I can opt for surrender benefit which will come around ` 16,328.04 approximately for ` 1 Lakh.
When I gone through all the policy T&C send to me, I found that the clause 15 exclusively says about the conditions for Surrender benefit which reads as in page No.7 as- No surrender value is payable during the first three years of the policy. After the first three policy years, the Surrender Value payable on Surrender is equal to the Fund Value in the Unit Account less the surrender charge as mentioned in clause 11(D).
The clause 11 shown in page No.5, heading as Charges with sub clauses serially numbered as:
1. Premium allocation charge(page 5)
2. Fund management charge(page5)
3. Policy administration charge(page5)
4. Surrender charge(page6)
5. Switching charge(page6)
6. Mortality charge(page6)
7. Rider premium charge(page6)
8. Partial withdrawal charge(page6)
9. Miscellaneous charge(page7)
It is understood that, the charges if any related to surrender benefits to this policy is extensively be mentioned in Clause 11(D) as per the “Clause 15 Surrender Benefit” of policy T&C. But here in this policy document T&C, the Clause 11(D) is not incorporated and the reason best to known to the company only. When I queried the insurer under what provisions of T&C of the policy my premium amount is attracting surrender charges, they replied that the surrender charges are applicable as per clause 11-4 of the T&C. But the insurer who drafted the policy terms and conditions forgotten to give definitions or explanations for the clause 11(D) which incorporated in clause 15 for surrender benefit. As any layman can see that the Clause 15 is exclusively governing about the conditions for surrender and in which it is clearly stated that “…… the surrender charge as mentioned in clause 11(D)” not as clause 11-4.
When raised up this matter to the knowledge of the appropriate authorities of the concern they also have different opinions and contradictory explanations which are as follows:
-Sri.Vikram.V, Senior Executive, Grievance Redressal Team informed me that the policy owner has the option to surrender the policy after three years and for further clarification refer the surrender clause in the T&C.(from which is clear that the surrender benefit is governing by the surrender clause in the T&C). Further he accepted that is an “incorrect detail” in relation to the disputed clause 11(D).
In another reply, the same officer mentioned that surrender and other charges details are available in the policy document page 5 and 6 for further clarifications.
-Sri. Sathyappa.K, Senior Executive, Grievance Redressal Team stated in his e-mail that the surrender clause is available in page No.5 and 6 of the policy document in detail. (the surrender charges mentioned exclusively in page No.6 and the clause for surrender benefit is mentioned in page No.7)
-Sri.Kapil Sharma, Senior Manager, Grievance Redressal Team had different opinions and explanations for the clarification about the 11(D) in the T&C which are as follows:
o The referred clause pertaining to surrender in the policy document is to be read conversely i.e. 11-4 & 11-D (not 11-D it is 11(D). I think no value for the words and expressions in a contract agreement)
o The reference there is made to clause 11 and sub clause 4 which has details pertaining to surrender (surrender benefit or surrender charge?)
o There is no mistake in the policy terms & conditions and more specifically to the surrender clause (then why the clause 11(D), moreover there is no such clause termed surrender in the T&C?)
o The surrender charges are applicable as per clause 11-4 mentioned in the T&C (clause 11-4 is mentioned with some surrender charges but what about the surrender charges as per clause 11(D) mentioned in clause 15?)
o Clause 11 and subsection 4 are to be read conversely as 11(D) and the nomenclature used (if such what about the other clauses like 11(A), 11(E), 11(H) and 11(I) mentioned in the policy T&C?)
o There is no change in the policy document or the terms and conditions of the policy, what we are trying to explain is that we need to interpret the numbering conversely (if there is no change in the policy document or the terms and conditions, why to interpret conversely when 11-4 and 11(D) since the earlier one is numeric and the later is alphanumeric?. It can be accepted if mentioned 11.4 or 11(4) for eg.)
o The surrender clause is explicitly mentioned in clause 11 and subsection 4, hence there is no ambiguity in terms of the applicable charges. Now under clause 15, the reference given is to clause 11(D), which is to be read as 11(4) (here again mentioned clause 11(4) instead of 11-4. Moreover, if there is no change or mistake happened in the policy document T&C why one should read 11(D) as 11(4)?)
o There is no mistake and the clause is to be interpreted in conjunction and conversely (what is the reason or intention of putting 11(D) in clause 15?)
o We have already re-iterated that there is no mistake in the policy document but I do agree that to make it simpler to comprehend we could have mentioned 11(4) (still they are confusion about the clause 11-4 or 11(4). If there is no mistake then why to simplify and to comprehend?)
o We would like to reiterate the surrender charges are applicable as per clause 11-4 mentioned in the terms and conditions of the policy ( what about the surrender charges mentioned in clause 11(D) as spelt in clause 15)
From the above it is pertinent to say that, the uppermost authority of the company itself could not able to give transparent and crystal clear explanations/clarifications within the legal frame which governed the insurance industry. But they are very particular about to deduct the charges illegally from this policy, though what are all the surrender charges not mentioned in the policy document terms & conditions in reference to clause 11(D).
From the changing versions of Mr.Kapil Sharma, it is clear that the company had committed a blunder mistake of non incorporation of clauses 11(A), 11(D), 11(E), 11(H) & 11(I) and its contents in the terms and conditions. Now they are giving vague, irrelevant and unconstitutional explanations to claim their mistake as legal.
Above all, on 08/09/2011, the company sent one Ms. Anitha.M, Branch Service Manager, Metlife, Trichy and one Mr.Shiva, some executive of Metlife, Trichy along with one other person, visited my office at around 01.15hrs in the afternoon and verified all the policy documents duly took Xerox copy of page No.5 & 6 of the policy documents. They also thoroughly gone through all documents and orally accepted that as per the T&C, my policy does not attract any type of charges. Added that may be it is a mistake committed by the company and they will send a report to the company as such. But on 09/09/2011, Mr.Vikram.V, Senior Executive of the company reverted by email, stating that, they are not in a position to refund the fund value or waive the charges, since the surrender and other charges are available in the policy document in page No.5& 6. Later Sri. Manjunath.H.C, GRO, Metlife by his interaction on my mobile from[protected] on 12/09/2011 at 14:51PM for a call duration of 00:02:57 hrs, also confirmed the version of former in the same line that the clause 11(D) should be read as clause 11.4 and it is a mere printing mistake. From the version of both the executives, it is clear that the company does not give any value or veracity of the words, expressions, clauses, sub clauses, legal validity of the policy document as they change it accordingly for the benefit of their concern not to the policy holder.
Apart from the unincorporated T&C in clause 11(D), there are several other clauses are mentioned in the T&C of the policy document which were not incorporated or explained. They are:
1. In page No.8, Clause 16. Partial withdrawal, 3rd para reads as – the partial withdrawal amount will be paid by encashing units from the surrender value of the withdrawable part as detailed in the surrender provisions after deducting the partial withdrawal charges as mentioned in clause 11(H).
2. In page No.9, Clause 17. Sub heading Premium (Re)direction, 2nd para reads as – you would have the option to change the premium allocation proportions once every policy year free of charge. Subsequent changes would be considered as an alteration and would attract a miscellaneous charge as detailed in clause 11(I).
3. In page No.9, Clause 17. Sub heading Unit Allocations, 1st para reads as – Net premiums (paid before the premium due date) after premium allocation charge as in clause 11(A) will be used to buy units in the Unit Linked Funds using the Net Asset Value as on the premium due date.
4. In page No.9, Clause 17. Sub heading Unit Allocations, 2nd para reads as - Net premiums (paid after the premium due date) after premium allocation charge as in clause 11(A)(Net Premiums) will be used to buy units in the Unit Linked Funds using the Net Asset Value as below:
5. In page No.11, Clause 23. Switches between Unit Linked Funds, 1st para reads as- Switching between Unit Linked Funds can be done at any time after the first six months by submitting a written request to the company. On request the Fund Value in the Unit Account can be switched to the new Unit Linked Fund after deducting the switching charge as mentioned in clause 11(E).
As such, it is evident that, either, there may be some conditions and terms as per the alphanumeric clauses 11(A) to 11(I) in clause 11 and that are exclusively governing some conditions on the related issues as mentioned above. Since the policy issued to me does not attracts any charges for Partial withdrawal vide Clause 11(H), Premium (Re) direction vide clause 11(I), Unit allocation vide Clause 11(A), Switches between unit linked funds vide Clause 11(E) and at last Surrender charge as mentioned in Clause 11(D), because the conditions governing to the above spheres are not incorporated in the policy document issued to me.
Or in other hand, the company intentionally left about the above clauses categorically to suppress or conceal the real facts regarding the clauses from the policy holder to engage them in the insurance to flourish their business.
If it is all printing mistakes, the company can amend or correct the mistakes as per Clause 10 - Other conditions governing unit linked funds-Changes to terms and conditions in page No.4 and that also has been not done.
After exhausting all the redressal mechanisms provided by the insurance company, my statutory right of surrendering the policy as per the terms and conditions is still unsolved and unheard by the company. Without any fear or guilty conscious the company clearly stated that they can’t surrender the policy without surrender charge and clarifying their status quo without any legal aspects added with an advice to me that if I am not satisfied with their stand raise up the issue with Insurance Ombudsman.
On the other hand, while settling a claim for a policy, if an irrelevant mistake or fault in the documents will be lead to the dismissal of the claim, but the above severe mistake committed by the company is not taking in to consideration. In both ways the customer will become scapegoat.
When the complaint does not find any satisfactory deliverance from the insurance company, I escalated the matter to IRDA vide token No.[protected] dated 26th Sep., 2011. In this regard the IRDA vide their letter dated 13th Oct., 2011, advised me to raise the issue with Ombudsman, since the nature of grievance falls within the scope of RPG Rules 1998. Even though the matter escalated to IRDA, the insurance company replied they are in the same status quo to not return my money as per Clause 15 of the terms and conditions of policy.
It is nothing but clear cut violation of policy T&C and core ethics of Insurance business. Hence it is requested that, taking in to consideration of all the above said evidences, treat the policy contract as void for the mistakes committed by the insurer to protect the interest of policy holder. Keeping in view of the above developments, it is sincerely upraised the following as legal rights to claim my invested amount of one lakh with benefits:
a) The policy terms and conditions clause 15 solely explaining about the terms for surrendering a policy after completion of three years.
b) Though the surrender charges mentioned in clause 11-4, the surrender charges attracted to this policy as per clause 15 in the event of providing surrender benefit to any policy holder is clearly mentioned that the surrender charges as per 11(D).
c) The unambiguous clause for charges in clause 11 running from page 5 to 7 of the policy terms and conditions explains about surrender charges as per clause 11-4 but not mentioned anything about what are all the surrender charges as per clause 11(D). Hence using clause 11-4 for deducting surrender charges from this policy is violation of policy terms and conditions and also violating the contract agreement.
d) The other charges like unit allocation charge is also clearly mentioned in clause 19 and in which it is explicitly mentioned that the premium allocation charge as per clause 11(A) will be deducted from the net premium paid before the premium due date. The company used the clause 11-1 of the policy terms and conditions to deduct the aforesaid charges from this policy are violation of policy terms and conditions and also violating the contract agreement.
e) The contents of this policy document and terms & conditions to be treated as a legal document by virtue of registering under stamp duty Act. However, any changes in the law, legislation or taxation, change in circumstances etc. can be done only with the prior approval of IRDA which is clearly mentioned in clause10. Without adopting all these legal frameworks, the company or its representatives or the authorized persons cannot interpret any words, phrases, numbers, letters, combinations of numbers/symbols/letters etc.
During the period of correspondence with the company in conflict with the clause on surrender charge mentioned in clause 15, the company adopted some other method to pacify me with a third party. The reply e-mail of Mr.Vikram.V dated 17th Aug 2011 is very much evident that the company is behind the episode. If they are in a safe corner why they adopted such mal practices to settle the issue?
Quoting all the above facts and with documentary evidence the issue has escalated to Insurance Ombudsman on 09/03/2012 and they also rejected my complaint vide reference I.O(HYD):L[protected]/03 dated 14/03/12 delivered on 14/04/2012 with a reason that “The matter relating to the complaint is beyond the purview of the Office of the Insurance Ombudsman and hence it is not entertainable” but not mentioned what are all the reasons to reject my complaint.
If such is the situation how can a customer get justice for the mistake not committed by him.

Regarding Admin Charges, Mortality Charges

Hi,
I got policy from Metlife 2006. My premium was 14399 per annum. Agent told me that I should pay atleast 1 premium. Later I came to know that term is upto 10 years. I should pay atleast 3 premium to avoid laps of policy. After 6 years my fund value is not reached near to my 3 premium amount.
Now I came to know that every year company deducting Admin and mortality charges Rs 6500. I don't know when my amount will reach to 3 premium paid by me. so that I can withdraw my policy. Metlife should not charge admin and mortality charges as insurer not paying premium. I will suggest friends not to go for any private insurance company. They are cheating their customers. If i will surrender my policy now metlife again will charge Rs 6200 for closure of policy. This is the way insurance company getting money. This is purely cheating to public.

Dear Sir,
I have taken a insurance policy from metlife on 31-Aug-2009 (Policy Number[protected].
I have deposited Rs 30000 (All 5 premium paid @6000 half yearly) till today but i recieved a mail stating my Fund value only Rs 12977.
As i dicsussed with Metlife person, they are saying all remaining amount were charges like allocation,processing etc.
Plz help to get My Amount back with intrest. I dont want to continue with such company.

I am a Swami of Sivananda Ashram in Rishikesh. Axis bank officer from Rishikesh branch pressured me to take MetLife, saying it was not insurance policy but investment and i would get good dividend after 6 years. I clearly stated i did not want any insurance as being a Swami i have not dependents, wife, children, etc. The officer, Kavita, said it's not insurance but investment. I trusted her. She said the papers were taking time to draw up, so i couldn't yet see everything. Finally, thinking the bank would want it's customers to prosper, i trusted and signed. Now they taken out two amounts of rs. 49, 000, and i cannot cancel the policy until third payment of rs. 49, 000. Then i only get half of that total, rs. 74, 000. I never wanted any insurance. The beneficiary on the policy is my own Ashram, and i am the only one living there. Axis Bank and MetLife are doing big fraud together. Swami Bodhichitananda, Rishikesh

met life — does have manner of your executive
Hi India'one of the leading telecom company, one of your executive talked in bad manner and did not answer my question.His name is Pankaj may be wrong.but the time no i had word with me is 11:55.I have two connection, the numbers are-[protected]and[protected].He must be penilized.
MetLife — Have not received comission
Hello I am an FA with Metlife and am waiting for commission for a policy that was paid in january this year and last year as well,The total amount comes to 7500, It seems so vain that we get business for such useless companies,
The sales managers are bad and the banch managers are worse,
Please all FA's dont deal with this company, also i would not want to invest with the company of this sort

I have taken on met life insurance policy. I paid altogether Rs. 18000 (3 instalments), on that they have taken some 17000 as their chargesfirst 2 premium as allocation charges - 12000.00
service tax 10.3% on allocation charges - 1236.00
Third premium' s service tax - 618.00
policy administration charges (135*18) - 2430.00
service tax on admn. charges - 251.00
mortality charges (Rs. 18x18)+ ST - 357.00
fund management charges will debit future - 0
Total amount as charges i paid - 16892.00
only balance of Rs. 1108 our of Rs. 18000 used for purchasing units.
Is it right or acceptable to anybody.
met life — I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY POLICY BOND

My Self Rajesh Adhikari I has got one policy though axis bank of per month 3000/- month of aug2008 but still I have not received my policy bond , and I was also told regarding person they assure many time it will be got it. and then one month ago same person told me your policy address not correct than I was fill address change from .i have got address change acknowledgement letter it issue by Bangalore office .
Kindly look into matter and do the best solution

Illegal construction

We have concern regarding the illegal Tin Shed of block 20-21 Sabzi mandi of Trilok puri.
In this market shopkeepers specially Bangles shopkeepers have set up their Tin Shed illegally in the market because of this , there are so much disturbance and problem of public transport in this area. People of this area are getting so much difficulty to pass the road. Road has become so much congested to pass. Sometime ago MCD demolished tin shed in last april but again they have made it and creating problems. Being true citizen of this area i want to complain in MCD regarding this to demolish Tin Shed and wants assurance from your side to resolve this issue

I was working with Metlife for approx 3 years my employe id was 1038030 in the Name of gaurav sood and iam resident of hno 1917 urban vihar ,phase 1 .dugri ,ludhiana ,punjab.
Sir I was the confirmed employe of Metlife Ludhiana Due to some health reason actually i was suffered foe Herpis a skin problem ,My whole face was damage due to this disease i cannot attend the office and i took leaves from my office that time they granted and my performance was good ,sir in nov 2009 one day my super boses and my Human Resourses( hr ) called me that kindly put your resignation immed. otherwise we will terminate you and you were never work another organisation due to termination ..Metlife done the same to my many collegues ...

I am Abhishek Khurana, I had Policy of MetLife. Policy No 2002397.
I had taken this policy in the month of May '09. And had not receive the
policy till Nov'09.I had contacted sales team regarding my policy.
And always i got the message its in process.On 10th of Nov'09 I got sms on
my mobile no [protected] reminding to pay the premium.As it was due on Nov' 09.
After that i made a call to customer service and told the representative that i had not received the policy till now. He told me that they had already delivered the policy in the month of June '09 and some one Mr Singh had received the policy at my place.Well there is no Mr Singh at my place.So i left with a question who is lying to me either sales team or customer care officer.I asked the officer to please give the courier company details who had delivered the policy.He told me it don't have any details with him.They only have Courier company name and POD no.
So that means Metlife is cheating with customer.Because there is fault in there system they don't have the proper information what their vendors (Courier Company) are doing. And when customer ask for vendor information they are helpless.
Well after that i received My Policy Kit on 2nd Dec '09. With a Cover Letter on it dated 28th Nov'09. After reading terms & conditions i felt cheated and not agree on them. So i requested Metife to cancel the Policy in Freelook. Regarding this i had submitted the policy documents in Noida Sec 63 branch on 8 the Dec '09.
On the 16 Dec '09 i got a letter from Metlife that my request for FreeLook of the policy had been canceled as they had already delivered the policy in the month of June '09. I again make a call to metlife regarding this stuff that i hadn't receive the policy in the month of June'9. And do a proper investigation with courier vendor and with your system.
I had checked my Policy Kit.There was a WELCOME LETTER date NOV 28, 2009.
That means the policy was first delivered to me in the month of DEC'09 because if it was delivered to me in the month of June'9 than there must be respective date on the Welcome Letter. Not in the month of June'09.
So I have sent these complain mail to you as a higher authority with lots of expectations and I am praying for justice and necessary action against the guilty. I further request you to help me to get my money back as soon as possible.

I am a cheated customer of metlife.
I took policy of 60k in oct 2009.
Now I wanted to close this policy and withdraw money. I check with for the procedure and got shocked to know if i cancel the policy even after the locking period, I should pay a penalty of 75% my first premium. i.e 75% of 60k thats a lot of money.
I had never experienced this big cheating in life before.. Be careful.
Few bad things I noticed (I am not good at market studies)
1. Very poor customer care. It may take 15 min minum to concate customer care executive and the behavior of those people are really insulting.
2. Metlife.co.in is a website hardly up and running
3. Poor performance mutual funds
4. On top of all, cheating customers with all sorts of hidden traps ( beware and be sure you read all documents before you take any metlife policy)

hi my case is a real shock to any body. i have taken a policy for sum assured 10 lakhs with a premium paid rs 2 lakhs annually. i paid my first premium of 2 lakhs on 28/02/2010 . as usual i recived the policy after 2 months. as i know the advisor i did not force him much . finally when i came to know the units alloted to me is only for 140000/- i was shocked and told them to cancell my policy and refund the money. since the free look time or some bla bla is over i need to wait till feb 2013 and can take the money back.
since i did not want to continue the policy i did not make my second premium paid and was waiting for 2013 feb.
my policy immediately went into lapse mode . but shockingly they started deducting money anothe 35000 for the second year and one more 40000 for the third year. stating the maintanance and administrative charges.
they have collected the administartive charges of 75000 for the lapsed policy .
now the real shocking news now is after all these the money leftover in forms nav which is around 90000/- ( from 2lakhs of investment after 3 years it became 90000/-) now the refund will be only 7500/-( seven thousand five hundred only ) as the surrender charges will be deducted.
first of all i was forced to wait for 3 long years to withdraw the money and my life coverage was withdrawn after first year, my policy was kept in lapsed mode and my money they have taken towards their administrative charges for a lapsed policy. and at the end of the day they wants to take the balance amount whatever was left over.

monthly premium collected twice
my policy no is 0500367.my monthly premium is on ECS mode debited to my bank account with Bank of India Ellisbridge Branch, Ahmedabad on 7th of every month.
On 7th December, 2009, the monthly premium has been debited to my bank account for two times (on same date).
I therefore, want the excess premium collected to be refunded immediately.AN EARLY ACTION IN THER MATTER WILL BE APPRECIATED.

Sir,
In June 2008 my employer tokk a life infurance policy in my name with premium to be paid on monthly basis ( Deducted from my salary). The Policy No is[protected]. However I left the companysome time later and requested met Life to convert mde of paymet to yearly basis. The K G Marg, New Delhi branch adivsed me to come in June. I again approached tham in June, 2009 as advised. They gave me some forms with out discussing any thing. I filled those and returned. After a week i received a communication stating that my request can not be exceeded to as I should come during aniversary. However, when Customer Care department contacted on phone to clarify as what is meaning of aniversary, every time reply given was June but due to their callous attitude and arrogant behaviour, they are not ready to accept the reality odf the situation and keep on repeating the it can be done aniversary forgetting that I had approached them in June and their KG Marg Branch rejected my request without assigning any valid reason. seeing the attitude and behaviour of this company, I dont want to continue any relationshp with the company and do not intend to develop any in future.
i may request you to look in the matter and see if I can get my money ba from this company and forget my relationship with the company as a bad dream.

MetLife — Not receive check after one month
Hello SirI have surrendred my Policy one month back on 19th Oct 2010.
When I was surrendering they said 8 working days .
Now it is almost 1 month over I didnt recive my Check.
Hope this creates some hope.

Stop them from issuing Insurance
I happen to be a unluck person who felt into the trap of so called insurance advisor to purchase an insurance product from MetLife. I believe my stress has increase since I have purchased a product from them. It has been 6 weeks my policy document has not arrived, the medical was done of day 2 and cheque was encashed on day 3. They say that you have 2 weeks to review and return the policy what if they do not dispatch the policy for 6 weeks. All my calls are answered ambigously. I happen to purchase a kids policy earlier and I am really scared to continue with them. The only issue is that I have been with them for 4 months on that and faced all kind of possible issues. Now if I return the policy as per the policy I have to surrend 100% of policy value to them(so basically drain out 20K) or so that I have paid as premium uptil now. Do not know what to do. The customer service is pathetic, no response. I just hope that the nominee and beneficary do not have to interact with Metlife as I have no hope of receiving any money from them if needed.

I did not recd pan card . I applied for same through MetLife on 11 june 2008.
His Processing fee coupon number is[protected].His CSF no is[protected] dated june 2008 . His name is Ashok Sharma. So far we have not received the PAN Card. I gave them required document on june 11, 2008 but same problem is remain .
We request you kindly look in to our complaint and arrange to send the PAN card. If I got your fax no. I can fax all the documents required by you .

postpaid issue
Dear Sir/Madam,
this is to bring your attention that due to ur poor customer service(s) and untrained employees i m suffering form unwanted stress,i brought a post paid connection fron ur RDC Ghaziabad branch on last friday with a commitment that my number ll b activated with in two hours and my verification ll be done nxt day and over all vodaphone ll take only 48 hrs to activate the post paid services but unfortunately my verification is still pending coz of which i m not able to enjoy the post paid facility from u, secondly when i called to ur customer care dept they straight forwardly said that u can return the connection i[censored] want do u think that this is the right way to handel a customer????after that i received a msg which says that my verification ll be done onle on 17-jan-08 complaint id:[protected] where as Air tel is giving me an offer that they ll take only 48 hr to convert perpaid connection to a post paid one.
as i m working in a capacity on Sr.Manager my usage is very high and just belive on me that in case u are not able to do the procedure really fast then i am sorry to say that i m not interested in your services,Hitesh Mathur Sr.Manager Metlife, [protected]

My father payed met life for years with the trust that we would be taken care o[censored]pon his death.. He died two years ago and met life made an error on distributing our share equally. We have been writing and trying to get met life to correct their mistake and sadly after two years of waiting, they still haven't made the correction. I never received the full amount of my inheritance from met life. They not only shorted me of what was rightfully mine, but i feel that they have ignored me and procrastinated for to long. I would think that a multi million/billion dollar company would be more than able to pay out the trust and funds that was invested into them.
I am far beyond upset and disappointed in met life. I feel that people should know and question if they should trust met life to do right before investing into it.

Metlife india is pathetic. I have two policies. Paid my premium due amount on 30th Nov 2007. Today it is 26th Dec 2007. Inspite of several calls to the customer care ( [protected]@metlife.com) there is no update.
I called up the customer care 5 times. They kept on saaying they will send the receipt but still no update. Is this how MetLife works everywhere in the world?
