I had applied for my PAN in 2008 which arrived in due course of time. Later on, I found out that the correct name had been embossed on the card but a wrong name had been entered into the database at the NSDL site. This was found out by me in Feb 2009. From that time on, I made several requests through the NSDL site by their links of change in PAN information data and sent them the original documents to change the same. They replied back to me asking for a fee of Rs. 100/-. I said to them that I would not be giving any fee because the fault had been at their end into entering a wrong name in the database, Otherwise how could the correct name be embossed on the card? they stopped entertaining me and turned down my request. thereafter I turned to the ITO in Kolkata, who said that the problem was at my end and refused to budge. Till this date my PAN card name on the online site at NSDL has not been changed due to which various important works of mine as investing into capital market etc. remained pending due to the same. I wonder how much time does it take for a database manager to correct a fault? It has been half a year now. If such people are sitting at our IT departments and Indian IT boasts of itself, well it is really shameful for us. The manner in which they harass a commoner, i believe its high time for us to start looking someplace else for getting our jobs done. I dont about the the efficacy of this forum but I would surely know about it in a couple of weeks from now on.

I had applied with NSDL online for a change in my PAN details. My PAN no is AMYPM6615R. The acknowledgement no for my online application is [protected]. My application was rejected stating that the proofs submitted did not contain last name in expanded form as mentioned in the application. Kindly refund my PAN processing fee...
Submission of PAN Card and PAN Verification to know the correctness of PAN is a mandatory exercise in order to comply with the KYC Norms of the RBI/Other Regulators.
Most of the customers/business entities submit their PAN Cards/ give their PAN Nos as refereence before activation of facility from a bank/telecom operator/mutual funds/insurance companies. However, the problem is that NSDL does not provide facility to Search/Verify PAN on the basis of PAN No.Instead, PAN search is allowed using customer name and his Date of Birth.
There are lot of flaws in PAN Verification using above options:-
1) Customer's Name may not be judged due to spelling mistake
2) Date of Birth provided by customer may be incorrect
3)In case of business entities, PAN Search cannot be done using above fields
Instead, NSDL should allow all users to do PAN Verification BASED ON 11 DIGIT PAN NUBER allotted to the applicant. This will save lot of time, enable easy verification of PAN and avoid chances of errors.
SUGGESTION:- Currently, PAN NO. is an OUTPUT on NSDL's Site when PAN Verification is done.
Actually, PAN No. should be an INPUT to verify applicant's PAN No.

Yes i also agree with this, PAN card is an unique number there is no duplicate in this, but for name and date of birth there may be the chance of getting duplicate, it will make lot of confuse, user has to try it in different ways, so it's better to alter the pan number as input and other details in output.

Yes the PAN Number should be verified through PAN Number and not name of Applicant with Date of Birth/Incorporation. In addition to this as w.e.f 1st April, 2010 if the PAN Number is not correct than the liability of TDS @ 20% lies with the deductee.
At one hand the Government has freed the Transporter' Freight from TDS in case they have PAN Numbers in which case the deductee has to verify whether the PAN Number is correct or not. If the PAN Number will not be correct the Liability of TDS @ 20% will lie on deductee.
So I am completly agree the PAN Verfication should be through PAN Number also.

My client died in April 2009. His wife is alive. The deceased person's income consist of pension and interest on various deposits where taxes have been deducted. Kindly let me know the proceedure for Registering for the purpose of viewing 26AS statement. This is required for me to prepare correct Tax return for the Assessment Year 2009-10. Whether the wife can apply and get registered since she has to sign the Return of income on behalf of her husband.
The service providers (viz) Karvy consultants, etc are not able to guide me in this situation.
I had claimed tax refund for the year 2008-09 but the same hasn't been processed by the assessing officer yet.
I have tried to find their email addresses but all in vain as they don't have an online customer service.
My assessing officer designation is ITO WD 1(1), THANE/PNE/W/70/1.
Please consider my complaint seriously and get the NSDL streamline the system of tax refund. It's a very hassle prone and drab system and clearly demonstrates the governments lackadaisical towards customer service.

Kindly be informed that NSDL has been appointed by Income Tax Department for acceptance and processing of e-TDS/TCs returns / Annual Information Returns, PAN / TAN applications etc.
NSDL has no role in assesment of taxpayers. On receipt of information from Income Tax Department, the appropriate details on refunds is displayed by NSDL on receipt of information from NSDL.

ACTUALLY THE OFFICERS IN THE INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT ARE GETTING SALARIES FOR EATING MORE BRIBES FOR EG: BANARJEE. THEY HAVE ALL RIGHTS OF HAVING PROPERTIES WORTH CRORES OF RUPEES.
I had claimed tax refund for the year 2007-08 but the same hasn't been processed by the assessing officer yet. When i search my online status in NSDL there show,
1) Your assessing officer has not sent this refund to Refund Banker.
2) If this refund has been sent by your Assessing Officer within the last week, you may wait for a week and again check status.
What the means of this.sir please refund my return,

I had applied for Pan Cart in Apr'10 and have provided all the documents but so far I have not received my Pan No. and Pan Card. My Pan Application Acknowledgement No. is [protected]. I too had a same bad experience with this courier company. My mother's PAN card status is shown as delivered by Expressit Logistics courier vide airway bill number[protected] dated 17.01.2009 at our communication address. However we are not in receipt of the same.
Looks like they are deliberately doing this with PAN cards and misusing it!!!

In online Income tax site, in my login for Assessment year[protected] I have seen outstanding amount with DIN ( Demand Identification Number ) :[protected]T for amount 9550/- where as in form16 refundable amount of 1467/- is mentioned.Same can be seen in my fore 26as that is avaliable on site that my company have paid the tax ( tax at source ) .

My name is Manikandan. I have applied for pan card before one year, but for what reason i dont know i didnt receive my pan card, but i received my pan number through some enquiries. Recently i have applied for Pan correction, when i tried to file my pan correction form i came to know that my previous pan card was made in the name of Mumoorthy Manikandan. Actually my fathers name is Mumoorthy. But i dont have any identity proof in the name of Mumoorthy Manikandan, i have only in the name of Manikandan.

we can't track our company's pan number on Income Tax site.
Our Pan card is lost by Traveling and when we wish to get a print out of the same from income tax web site we could not track it, though we have put the correct name & correct date of incorporation
so, please do something.

When ever I call or send a email, they respond with a routine reply - This is to inform you that your case is pending at Mumbai RCC and we are following your case with the concern department and we will revert you as per the status ASAP.

I have applied for change in PAN data on 11.04.2007, documents in support of change were also submitted but even after the elapse of one year the corrected PAN card not received.
Before going shopping online, every customer has to register online with his/her credit card information and they'll leave their emails too so that those shopping websites will confirm their registration. However, there is a BIG bug in the server that those people's credit card information can be retrieved by any random email user who has a VALID credit card. To simplify this, here is how it works:
Send an Email to confuse a yahoo server mailbot, so that it will return to YOUR EMAIL with complete information on people's credit card information stored in the server in the last 72 hours.
This is how you will get people's VALID credit card information. Now you have to do exactly the same as follows:

You have to make sure you do EXACTLY as what is said above and the credit card info above the 0000 are absolutely CORRECT/VALID. Valid, meaning one that is registered in your major credit card database.
