[Resolved]  Orange Telecom — Fake sms/emails on winning 10 lac $ in XYZ company

Hi,

On 5th Aug I received an SMS:'You have just got Ten Lac Dolars in Orange Telecoms. For more info mail us at myorangedraw09(at)hotmail.com.' I knew this was a fake but i wanted to try want is the next step hence i replyed on the email id. Further they replyed to my mail and and asked to my comple details like Name, age, sex, etc..after that they asked to mail on the below address THE OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
NATWEST BANK PLC.329 GREEN STREET, UPTON PARKLONDON E13 9AB - UNITED KINGDOM
E-MAIL: [protected]@hotmail.com for fund release application.

The bank accepted the fund release application and asked to provide 1. PROOF OF IDENTITY. (ANY OF YOUR VALID I.D CARD) 2. YOU ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE US FUND RELEASE ORDER FROM THE FINANCIAL SERVICE AUTHORITY (F.S.A) UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN.

After that they informed to contact [protected]@live.com for Fund Release Order Certificate (FRO). After replying to the above email id they send a reply as follows:

OPERATIONS AND SERVICES
#44 STOCK PORT ROAD, LONG SIGHT
MANCHESTER M12 4LL UNITED KINGDOM-UK

Dear Client,

We are in receipt of your request and wish to inform you that the Fund Release Order is a Mandatory document which must be provided to the Nat west Bank before they can remit your fund to you through the Bank Of England. It legalizes your award and gives them the constitutional right to release the Award sum to you.

We have also carried out some investigations on your Award as per the your mail by Orange Telecommunications Development Company United Kingdom and wish to let you know that it is totally Legitimate and currently deposited with Nat west Bank Plc. It shall be released to you once you meet their requirements.

Based upon your inability to come over to the U.K in person, you are required to make the payment of the following administrative charges to us before we can issue out the document to you:

Certification Charge: 750 British Pounds
Endorsement Fee: 120 British Pounds
Attestation Fee: 80 British Pounds

If you come to the U.K in person, you shall only be paying the Certification Charge of 750 British Pounds Sterling which is equivalent to $1, 240. If you cannot come in person, you shall be paying a total of 950 British Pounds Sterling equivalent to US$1, 564 (Equivalent to 74, 100 India Rupees INR), being payment for the Certification, Endorsement and Attestation Charges.

All payments can be made through any of the following means;

- Money Gramm[This takes time]

- Bank Wire/Telegraphic Transfer [This takes time]

- Direct Deposit of the required amount into the bank account of our correspondent in India.[Preferable]

As soon as you tell us how you wish to send the required 950 Pounds, we shall provide you with the full payment details and directives.

Attached to this e-mail is a scanned copy of the FRO Application form and also a scan copy of my British International Passport as proof of identity. You are required to complete section (I) only, scan and return it to us alongside a scan copy of your Identity Proof. You shall get the fund release order within 3 hours from our receipt of your payment and completed Application Form.

When i informed them i will not pay they said:

Sequel to your mail today, you have delayed your claim up to this time. Based on the instruction from the Board of directors, you ought to have claimed your money earlier before now.

Now I want to use this moment to inform you that Fund Release Order is a Mandatory document which must be provided to the Natwest Bank before they can transfer your money to you.

Fund Release Order Its legalizes your award and gives them the constitutional right to release the Award sum to you.

i wish to inform you that we can not issued out the document without received administrative charges it is a Mandatory fee.

Moreover. We don't have the right to deduct your fund, also your fund is not with us here our duty is to issue you the document.

If you know that you can not be able to come in person, then you are required to deposit the money in our correspondent account in India.

If you agree to pay contact us, so that i will tell you how to make the payment.

Sir, i also resieved a message in my Mobile which ihave read that congrat your Mobile# Has won GBP 500, 000, 00 in the ongoing orange Telecoms INTL Mobile Draws UK. To claim, contact DR Brown .. i dont know what is this sir please clarify my dought to my mail id [protected]@yahoo.co.in

i dont know whether it is true or not, so dont rely on such kind of messages.

Today (2.12.2009), a couble of minutes before, i have received a sms from the destination TM- ORANGE, stating that my mobile no has won a $.500, 000, orange telecom draw and to claim the said amount i have send my name and mobile number to Dr.David on email:[protected]@gmail.com.
I could not belive it and i got a suspection over this sms, b'cos no one will come farword to give such a huge amount in the name of prize winner and who was selected out of draw conducted by them. Immediately i went through the net and procured some inforamtion from the persons who were also received the same sms and was subjected for money making business in a crooked way.Then i found that the sms which was received by me is a fake one. Each and every people will be in need of money, and no one would say that he do not like money, so the people we have to be very aware, while we are torgetted by this kind of fake sms.

This is a scam, it is fraudulent i also received the same message and i'm still waiting for my prize to date
