PAN REGISTRATION PROBLEM IS THAT WHILE I CLICK TO SUBMIT BUTTON THEN THE MESSAGE COMES THAT YOUR MIDNAME IS MISMATCH

I'm not able to register in the 'income tax efiling'. While registering, the form asks for my 'first name' and 'surname'. But when I fill with the correct details [tried all possible combinations], its showing error message like 'Your first name doesnt match with the data you entered.. Your surname name doesnt match with the data you entered..'.

Is there any way to verify my details as per the PAN records?

Hi all,
The above error occurs when there is Change in Case of letter in your Name field.It might be possible that name would have been in capital in database as it happens with me or spell mistake in Databse of I-T.I[censored] want to get rid of this problem then go with the procedure provided by Kumar2866 .It helped me..Maybe you will also..

Hi All,
The error occures due to the Wrong Entry of Names in the DataBase.
The First Name and Surname are reversed in the database.
Solution: Enter Your First Name in place of Surname and Surname in place of First Name.
This should solve the issue.!!!

Income tax/pan — unable to register

My PAN is ASXPA5965F. When I fill my details for registering for e filing I am asked to fill my surname.But I do not have any surname. In my PAN also I do not have any surname. So I am unable to register.Kindly resolve my problem. Thanks.

i too have same problem, i tried all possible combinations of name but its not working, one thing is for sure that my name is correctly ther in thier database, they have given a number which never worked[protected]/81

Enter you name as displayed in the PAN card - Your name entered during registration at IT department website should be the same as that in your PAN card (including surnames).


Example - If your name as per the PAN is Shiva Kiran Reddy –



In case the 5th digit in your PAN card is ‘R' - you need to enter ‘Reddy’ as your surname;
In case the 5th digit in your PAN card is ‘K’ – you need to enter ‘Kiran’ as your surname;
Similarly, if the 5th digit in your PAN card is ‘S’ – you need to enter ‘Shiva’ as your surname.

For all those who are unable to register their PAN due to 'name and surname; errors, please use all different combinations of your name and surname. Mine worked when I left the FIRST NAME as blank and entered my first name and surname in the field of SURNAME.
