[Resolved] Pan — Unable to register Income Tax E-filing | |
Hi, I'm not able to register in the 'income tax efiling'. While registering, the form asks for my 'first name' and 'surname'. But when I fill with the correct details [tried all possible combinations], its showing error message like 'Your first name doesnt match with the data you entered.. Your surname name doesnt match with the data you entered..'. Is there any way to verify my details as per the PAN records? Thanks, Ganesh Balaji S Was this information helpful? | |

Hi All.,
After many steps finally its working..
Example :
NAME : K Nadhankumar
Note : You have to enter surname based on you PAN register in Database. Usually Surname is 'K' (I.E k for karunthi Nadhankumar) but in database Which is last word in your name that's the surname is register in db.
So you have to enter 'Nadhankumar' this based on your PAN 5th digit.
After many steps finally its working..

perfect! it worked for me. Very likely that first name and last name are interchanged in the pan database ... so try last name as first name and first name as last name on income tax site it would work.
if not try kumar2866 method to check for spelling or other issues.

Try your first name as a surname then it will work, but i dont why they are taking surname as firstname. Good government site.
when I googled the https: address given by kumar2866 above, immediately i got the message that it is a wrong site. So I give below the address which I checked for my name and correctly responded:

Here you choose; CHALLAN NO./ITNS 280 for advance payment. So your name will appear there when you fill up the minimum asked details including your pan no.

Yes, Kumar2866 is right, some database issue.
Turned out it was lastname firstname as per records
so just try changing ur firstname and lastname in the incometax site and should work mostly unless its a spelling related issue

fill all the details which has * mark selecting netbanking, proceed
u will get the full name.. copy the surname and use it in incometaxindia e filing website for registration,
if surname is still invalid, just copy the Full name and paste in Surname field.
ex:- use Hegde
or use Shivananda Hegde
it will work

They are using your complete name as surname.
So you can type your full name in surname and proceed.
Or you can try by reversing your surname and first name.
