You insist upon filing of Property tax but do you know the condition of your tax Deptt.
On working days the officers come at 10:30-11:00 am and collect tax up to 12:00 noon only then their lunch time starts and after 2 pm they don’t collect tax. If anybody reaches there after 12:00, they simply say "bhai lunch time ho gaya hai, kal aana".
And on weekends i.e. Saturday, they do not take any taxes at all. If you go on Saturday to file your property tax even at 11:00 am in the morning, they simply say that "sir Monday to Friday only and before 12:00 ".
In this way they collect taxes.
Earlier when the property tax Deptt was there behind Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital, they at least took taxes on Saturday also uptill 12:00 am only but they do take but now it has been shifted to SDM building, sector-17 rohini. First of all there are no signboards and no markings. There are marking of railway reservation center but no marking of Property tax deptt are there in that building. At least there should be marking of property tax deptt office at the entrance of building where all other markings are fixed. Then if you find office, there are no officers in the office to collect tax. offices are vacant. Your officers just come to mark attendance and go back. And i am afraid to say that they didnt even mark their attendence also.

In this regard I would say that strict action shall be taken against such government officers and working methodology shall be given to the officers for better performance.

Can you tell me if they don’t take taxes on Saturday, then where will the person go who has 5 days working office? And your officer’s don’t take taxes all the time from 9:00 am to 5:30pm so that a person can take a short leave and file property tax.
Even if a person takes full day leave, he/she is not sure whether he will be able to deposit Property Tax or not courtesy the location of Propert Tax office, then availability of bus to that tax office, then location of property tax deptt, then availability of tax collecting officer and if he finds the officer, its on the mood of officer.
Your officer’s don’t sit on their chairs in the working time. Its not easy to find the officer, deptt and office and you are ready to take late fees as interest from the property owners.
Please take necessary action in this regard and remove hassles of public.
