[Resolved]  Qatar Airways — careless baggage handling

Dear sir,
i will come back to india from nairobi on 14 th jan 2009.
at time my baggage handling is very bad& some damages in my bag

Respected Sir,

MY stroller was put in checked bags without my permission and it ended up being torn apart and on top it i had hell in carring everything on my back, there is no form to claim my missing bag or about my broken stroller . I need an explanation.

On our way back from our honeymoon from Thailand to Beiruit on the 25th of august, I missed my baggage and I claimed in Beiruit's airport about it but till now nothing is known .I'm trying since then to contact ur offices in Beiruit and Qatar but no one is answering. I am writing to formally complain about my mishandled luggage. I came to Houston on the following flight on November 6, 2009

One of my bags did not arrive with me although my husbands bags both arrived.

It has been five days and my bag has not arrived with me. I have filed a complaint with Qatar Airways as I was told by Orlando your baggage handler in Houston airport.

I have been calling the given Houston contacts for Qatar Airways at the following number almost every hour for the past 5 days.

Moreover, I have contacted both Dubai and Doha both have stated that this is not updated on the baggage tracking system. Both Dubai and Doha have gone above and beyond anyone in Houston Baggage Claim. I then contacted Houston and they told me that Dubai and Doha have not answered their telex. Clearly, there is a communication problem that is occurring. I have stayed awake for the past four days to contact both Dubai and Doha during workings hours and have come to nothing. Also contacting the Houston office here is clearly a dead end since the staff here are unresponsive and incompetent.

I was also told that bag was handled by Emirates, with a 63% match. In Houston they only told me this and said that they are waiting for Doha to contact them. I guess I was quicker because I contacted Doha and they informed me of the contacts of this bag and it did not match mine, while Houston felt that it was a 99% match and not 63%. Common sense only tells you that obviously it was not a match. Doha informed me that all my luggage was put on the flight and it did depart from Doha and is in Houston. All I want is my luggage, my concern has nothing to do with the operations of getting my luggage rather the solution and the result.

I am a privilege member with Qatar Airways. Moreover, I am frequent flyer with Emirates and this HAS NEVER happened to me. Qatar Airways boasts that it is the only 5 star carrier, is absolutely a bluff. On the contrary I was treated with the utmost disrespect and impolite way. The only solution I was given was to “sit tight and calm down” if you were in my shoes with no clothing and are staying here for 1 week that is absolutely not a solution. I have been contacting Dubai and Doha on my expense and doing the work of your staff, by chasing the bag all over.

I am extremely upset and as we speak I am placing this complaint on all blogs for travel on the worldwide web. We are in a global community where things like this will not go unnoticed. My only satisfaction is to receive my luggage and compensation for the troubles that I have endured from Qatar Airways.
I am waiting for a resolution for this fiasco.
Moreover, they gave two emails to send complaints on and they are all wrong.
I ahve been trying to contact the Local Qatar airways office on the toll free number given on the website. I have been put on hold for more than an hour each time. How do I get in touch with the local office?????

I want to put a claim ? what are the procedure
We travelled from new Delhi to Washington Dulles through Doha Qatar on 8th April 2012. We checked in a fragile baggage which on unpacking at home was found mishandled and damaged at several places when we reached home. What is the procedure for such complaints and how would we be refunded for the mishandling and damage by the Qatar airllines? At the time of checkin at New Delhi we had repeatedly requested to allow us to keep the baggage( musical instrument called Harmonium) with us but were told it needs to be checked in and fragile tags were put on all surfaces. It seems it has been thrown/mishandled several times and due to that the strings of the instrument are damaged and it cannot play now. Exterior is damaged too.
