Reader's Digest — Sending the books by V.P.P-I didn't order the books.

Reader's Digest is VERY big fraud company. This company sends the books by V.P.P. without any order. And the parents of the children thinks that the books are important for their children-and pay the amount. My parents have spent so much extra cost for it. The Reader's Digest are selling the book of 50/- rs for 400 or more rupees. It is really very BIG FRAUD COMPANY.

i don't think so coz I have been reading reader's digest since I was a kid and I think it is actually a very good magzine plus they also have some really good books. On the VPP issue you are highlighting, i think it would have been some mistake. But what actually happened if you could tell me...

Reader's Digest is going to overtake Satyam Online Scandal by cheating its readers.I recently got a parcel with a coaxed winning prize and a rubbish book with 699/-bill which I have never ordered.I d like to ask the nonsense Rajesh Mundra when to stop this foolish approach of earning fast bucks.

readers digest is just Like 2nd east india company, cheating and playing with the emotins of its innocent readers.
i just want to stop reader digest not because of all the comments but readersdigest has cheated me
by sending me an exceptional offer without subscribing any of his copies.it has taken my thumb impression and signature on his offer agreement and sending me again and again letters of his exciting letters of earning money.i think ravi ranjan roy from patna has given my name in readers digest.i until now can not belive why readers digest has not verified and send me letters through him.
iam going to lodge FIR aganst readers digest and also on him and also Mr. Anil kumar reades digest staff member has its name on the letter.immeadiately readers digest should be closed.
I have been a subscriber for a few years and I have not renewed my subscription recently. I recently got a VPP from Delhi and a request to pay Rs 479 for the parcel. After reaching the post office, I was amused to see a small packet from Readers Digest measuring 9x6 inches. I declined it, but before doing it, I managed a sneak peak inside to find some little diary. Subsequently, I saw an ad in last month's copy that Rs 479 is the price of an year's subscription and that you could gift anyone. All you had to do is provide the name and address of any arbitrary stranger to RD.
1. This seems like a violation of privacy
2. This definitely leaves ambiguous the source of address. RD might just be picking it from their database.
3. It is downright unethical to force someone to pay for something not ordered. RD must send a notice intimating that they would like to send you this via VPP and get you to pay for an year. This notice must be sent with acknowledgement due.

My decision to order a book is left up to me. You send me a book named Crossfire for which I did not order. In the future, if you send me a book, magazine, free gift, etc. that I did not order nor have I requested, I will throw the item in the garbage can. I am not paying for something I did not order. I strongly advise your company to remove my name from your files as I am not nor have I ever ordered anything from your compayLuevater
The only link between me and readers digest is that I have read some of its issues some years back, that too in my cousin's place .
Suddenly I got a letter from readers digest rajesh mundra stating that my name is in the short list and I have a chance to claim either Honda accord (colour not mentioned) or prize in cash .
Shocking, this is totally a 420 case .
Some people just avoid these things and are safe but think about people who fall for it and get cheated, lose their little hard earned money, so sad .
Why can't the cyber crime or local police arrest them .
The goverment allows all sort of nusiance to open up in the country (chit funds, local finance, real estate schemes, foreign jobs agent, investments with high returns etc. ) and waits till people fall a prey for it . When the people complain they shout back why did you invest in a organisation which is not approved by goverment . What was the goverment doing when they were opening and advertising ? .
This will be like this only, let any party rule .
Please you people must be safe, never fall for any lucky prizes, stay away from the attitude that luck will give you a comfort life .
Be satisfied with what you have now and work for the betterment of tommorrow, savings is a must for future . Try to avoid foreign banks, if in future they run away, Do you think our goverment will recover our money from them and give it back to us ?...Think and act ... Please tell your friends also... SAVE AND PROTECT THINGS WHAT YOU HAVE AT PRESENT AND WORK IN RIGHT PATH TO ADD FOR FUTURE...
