[Resolved] Regional Passport Office - Chennai — renewal / reissue of passport | |||
Regional Passport office - Chennai I had submitted my application form for renewal on May 24 2010, during document verfication it was stamped in the document "Police verfication exempted". Chennai RPO does not seem to udpate the status online. The online status says "Your police report has not been received. Application is in process" on August 20 2010 (online status was updated on 02 August), what is the purpose in having a online system. Why there is such a long delay when the normal timelines is around 45 days for a fresh passport. Do they process only Tatkal passport? Regards Aravind Was this information helpful? | |||

Regional Passport Office ,Chennai — Delay in reissue of passport
I have applied for passport renewal on 14/06/2010 at the RPO Chennai, My documents were verified and had an police verification done after a month , but till date there is no news about my passport and web site says my file is under process. When everything had gone online why do they take 3-4 months time for issuing a passport. We will go back 20 years behind if this trend continues.Request necessary action to be taken in speeding up the passport issuing system.SURESH BABU BAKTHAVACHALAM
