i daulathram suneetha registered passport under tatkal scheme on feb 01022010 and i received a file no HYT[protected] . i am unable to understand what is the next step and what is the status of my application form could you please guide me in detail.

sir/madam i am here shivanand yadav i aplied my passport for tatkal renewal.and i have valied vissa on my passport.i have return tiket for abudhabi.on 09/03/2010.but i did not recived my passport unitil now.i am very waried about my passport. beacas this is mater of my futur.so pleas help me and try to send my passport a timely.

Dear Sir,

I am trying to get appointment date for tatkal passport application. I have filled the online application for tatkal using link http://www.ap.nic.in/passport/Default.htm, and it gives me a date for appointment, however when I try to book the appointment date in the screen drop-down no dates are available, hence failing to confirm the appointment date.

I am trying to get appointment date since last two weeks but still I could not succeed. And there is no other way to apply for tatkal other than getting the online appointment date.

Can you please help to resolve the issue and get date of appointment or suggest if its possible to submit the application form directly at RPO without getting the online appointment date.


Same complaint like manohar i need it for child passport renewal but this site is not allowing me to take the printout of my tatkaal appointment date.

i totally agree wid her complaint as i am also facing dis problem of not getting date coz of which mi appointment is incomlete, plz tell me any oother way to make appointment fast

hi even i am also facing the same problem and it is wasting lot of people time with entering all the required details and finally it is restricting me to Confirm the Appiontment.

Dear Friends,

I am also totally frustrated with the online administration of hyderabad regional passport office.
I see no dates in the dropdown before confirming the appointment. There is no proper message for the public how to approach the passport office with the given reference number also.

For your information, I spent 2, 500 to a broker outside the passport office and managed to get the appointment date, but the sad part of it is, those people are uneducated and not able to fill in the details properly, when I get into the passport office, my application is rejected because of some spelling mistakes in the application. So be sure you see the correct data on your application.

Honestly speaking this online registration is of no use to the public at this point of time. Our governemt is not able to manage this kind of problems.
I don't know who will solve this issues and help public. Like me, I see so many helpless people outside of passport office. It all looks like a mafia to me.Anyway I am cheated so request you all to make sure twice you give money to anybody there.

HYDERABAD: In what could be a major relief to Tatkal passport applicants, police today busted a racket in which the Regional Passport Office (RPO) website was hacked, and slots blocked and sold to applicants able to shell out a premium.


With the arrest of the gang, genuine applicants can now have easy access to the slots without paying extra, the police said.

The fraud came to light after RPO authorities noticed about two months back that applicants were failing to secure slots through the online system and that these were getting filled up within seconds of opening.

Police investigations led to the arrest of seven persons, including six travel agents and a PG diplomaholder in computer applications, who hacked the RPO website and blocked the slots. The RPO’s website, www.passport.gov.in, is maintained by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), New Delhi.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner A K Khan said the main accused, G Lathadhara Rao, a native of Narsaraopet in Guntur district who has a PG Diploma in Computer Applications, was hired by a travel agent, Shaik Subhani, of Narsaraopet to register passports online under the Tatkal scheme and was given Rs 100 per application as commission.

According to Khan, since February this year there has been a heavy rush for Tatkal applications and the applicants were failing to get a slot. ``Lathadar Rao found bugs in the RPO’s website with the help of which he could access the NIC server and succeeded in submitting the passport applications with confirmed dates under the Tatkal scheme even though the dates were yet to be officially released by the passport authorities, ’’ Khan said.

Subhani, meanwhile, extended his operations to the city and hired seven sub-agents in the city to get passport applicants to sell the slots.

``The city-based passport agents used to mail the details of the passport agents to Subhani and the same were passed on to Lathadhar Rao, who hacked the website, uploaded the passport application forms and got the slots booked on dates which were not released by the RPO, ’’ the commissioner said.

With many applicants approaching the RPO office for passports at the last minute, there is a huge demand for the Tatkal scheme and the gang took advantage of the situation, police said.

The travel agents used to charge between Rs 3, 000 and Rs 5, 000 from each Tatkal applicant and they used to share the amount on a 2:1 basis.

“Lathadhar Rao used to get Rs 1, 000 while the travel agents, including Subhani, used to share the remaining. In the past two months, the gang uploaded more than 3, 000 applications and booked slots, ’’ Khan said.

According to police, though the website administrators rectified some of the bugs, Lathadhar Rao could get around these too.

Police also said the travel agents used to keep a close watch on slot openings and block them as soon as they opened up and sell the same to applicants at a premium.

Initial investigations did not point to any involvement of RPO employees, Khan revealed. Apart from Lathadhar Rao and Subhani, police arrested five passport agents from the city -- Mohd Jahangir, B Srihari, G Chinna, Syed Valiuddin and K Penchal Reddy.

Two others, Kaleem and Srinivas, are absconding.
