[Resolved]  Regional Passport Office Secunderabad — Delay in Passport Renewal

I applied for renewal of my passport on[protected] File No.HYDF0I538211. After a month status showed "Police inquiry report clear and passport will be dispatched in a week's time". The status kept on changing and finally came to" File transfered to Policy Section meet PRO. And to my surprise,the status is not updated after[protected] till today ie.[protected]. I didn't find any co-relation in those statements which is clearly a misguiding status report.Now they are saying that a clearance has to come from Chennai as a passport was issued on the same name as mine in 1974 which I never applied and held.. At the time of issuing a new passport to me in 2001 when I applied first time, this didn't surface and when I apply for renewal how come this came up?. Now they simply say the clearance has not come from Chennai. Is it the duty of applicant to get the clearance from Chennai RPO? If so, they should guide the applicant to go to Chennai and pursue the matter by giving necessary documents or authorisation letter.. At first place it is their internal process which they have to do with Chennai RPO or else suggest alternative ways.. Does it mean I will not get my Passport Renewed at all In case, the clearance is not sent by Chennai RPO? Is it not their duty to send reminder fax or communication with Chennai RPO and clear the matter? There is no other way to tackle it? They should guide the applicant as to how to overcome this subject. Can any one help me in solving this?
