[Resolved]  Reliance General Insurance — Refusal for full claim settlement

I have an Insurance of my Mercedes Benz from Reliance General Insurance Co. Ltd. for an insured amount of Rs. 7,50,000/- approx. Unfortunately my car met with an accident at Sohna Road, Gurgaon. The car got badly damaged from the Rear right passenger side. I called up the customer care of RGI and asked to appoint a surveyor. They appoint a surveyor Mr. Sanjeev Kumar but he refused to go to Gurgaon for inspection. He said he looks only after Okhla. We again called up the customer care to appoint a surveyor for Gurgaon. They kept me waiting for 5 days but no surveyor was appointed for me. Then I took my car to TNT Motors at Okhla. Again, after three days of repeated telephonic requests for a surveyor, Mr. M.K. Aggrawal was appointed.

TNT Motors gave their estimate of Rs 2,74,000/-. We then asked Mr. M.K. Aggrawal to give his approval. After four days of Repeated telephonic calls, he gave his approval. For my utter surprise, he gave his approval only for Rs. 44,000/- which is not a justifying amount at all. On asking him why he is giving approval for such a small amount, he said that he can approve for this much only. Also, he said that the charges of parts and labour are very high at TNT Motors.

I wrote a letter to Mr. Ambani but no action is being taken yet. My car is still lying at TNT Motors and due to climatic conditions it is getting rusted. I am suffering a lot because of the unprofessional attitude and negligence of their employees.

This is the way of working of such a big and esteemed MNC i.e. Reliance General Insurance Co. Ltd.
