[Resolved]  Royal Goan Beach Club — non refund and uncooperative

They lure you to purchase and even offer you some financial offers and then if you keep asking for 1 day they give you a lie that it is has a 21 day cool off period. But after you r a member they refuse to refund and deny the 21 day cool off period.

MY ordeal put in a letter sent to ROYAL GOAN BEACH CLUB:
As you are aware and i have had an entire conversation with you regarding the sales team and the offer put forth with us and the reason to take the offer.

I will put this in writing hoping that no one ever as a customer to go through this.

We were at calangute beach and we were asked to roll down our windows and offered a free gift and were asked to follow the 2 members from royal goan beach club all the way to the resort to collect the gifts.

When we reached there we were asked if we had visa cards as there was a promotion on the visa card. So i said i did and was asked to show the card.

Then we were informed that there is a promotion and its 17 years so the club is celebrating its , and we were asked if we would like to spend some time to get the know about the presentation to which we agreed.

Some time later we were assigned Suraj and he took us around and showed us the resort.

After all of this we were lead and seated into a room in which suraj explained to us the offers and then another member joined us explaining even more further.

now my idea of a holiday was only to travel only out of india which i kept repeating and suraj kept askign us to take the product he was selling.

We asked him for another day to decide as we had other commitments and we could make a decision later , and ivon and me kept asking for just one more day , the offer was 4 lakhs + earlier and then he droped it to 2 lakhs we still said we kept askign him for another day and I was told that there is a finance scheme but i was also very insistent with suraj that i would not like to go with the finance scheme and i would like another day so that i could pay up the whole amount and i could make that decision the next day. He kept offering further discounts , i also told him that i would have to pay from my credit card which is something i do like like and he said that fine he will offer a further discount which agian we did say we need time Then he finally said that this has a 21 day cool period which was the reason we decided to take the membership.

we got into the membership the very same day with a down payment of about Rs 23000. The administration manager also informed that if you feel you have been hit and all of this is too fast and you to cancell please to call. After a couple of days when we did realise that we coudl not go ahead with this we called were informed by the collections department specifically by you that there isnt such offer which was a shock as a customer.

The collections departments denies this and then refuse to refund also they send you emails insisting on continuing the membership and that it cannot be cancelled, so NOW not only they mislead they also do not refund and also insist you continue to pay the remainder of the amount of the membership, does this end or not...Dont we as consumers have and rights. We all need to file a complaint
I went to Bali last month in February and like others we were also taken to this presentation whereby we were being told that bein a vacation member will save us lots. Suraj did the presentation and later his manager joined us. We were told that we will be getting lots of discounts via RCI and Ice. Coming back home in Australia when I calculated the value of holiday --- we paid $13, 000 to obtain membership than ongoing management fees of about $700 every 2nd year -- this will in return give you 13 weeks holiday. This comes to $1700 per week which is overpriced. I sent email immediately asking for refund of money paid and explaining the cost of the holiday. I got call from somone from Goa who asked me to try first and kept on insisting me to keep the membership. The more research I do on this the less value for money I see. For example RCI --- the hotels locations are way out. Ice the lisitng pricing is very low but when you actually go an d book the same the price almost tripples up for example advertised price 61 time of booking it is 224. Please advise how to get the refund and what we have to do
It is very difficult to get your money back from these crooks as the Indian Courts are slow and lax.
Also, even if you win the case, the compensation is meager. Hence it will be advisable to inform the world about these crooks.
