RPO chennai — Non Issue of Passport after 5 Months

We have applied for our parents Passports reissue with the following details

This was applied from Pondicherry Application Collection Centre. We have not received both the Old Passports and the new passports. Whenever we contacted the RPO chennai, we were told that it would take upto 6 months to know what had happened. Eventually on 30/06/2011 we came to the Passport Office and were told that there is some mis-spelling in the spouse name in my father's application form and they need clarification. We clarified everything again and we were told that the New Passport will be issued with the same details as it was in the old Passport. We were also told that the passport will be issued within 15 days.

Unfortunately we have not received the passport yet.

When we contacted the RPO Chennai office, we were told the same story that there is some mistake in the spouse name and they need clarification. We don't understand what is going on.

My father's health is not in a good condition, and we would like to take him to US for further treatment. We need to apply for Visa and other formalities are there which we could proceed without the Passport.

Will the RP Officer clarify me, what is going on, and why it takes so long and without any communication to us.

Also, I would like to stress that there is another important issue.

We have not received the Old Passport yet, which olds vital information about his previous Overseas trips and his unexpired Visa for Singapore. The reason why I am stressing is, we have received my Mother's new Passport and not the old passport. A complaint had been raised (Complaint number 427/11 on 30th June 2011) and so for no action had been taken.

I hope that the RP Officer would take prompt actions to sanction the relevant authorities to look into the matter as soon as possible.
