Its very shameful for a bank like SBI to collect money on the basis of inter city transfer charges...after all banking is meant for remote deposition of money...eg a student studying away from his home...if the authorities don't stop these things then boast yourself of being the largest bank of india and stop giving full page ads on leading daily newspapers as being the banker to this nation...if you want to be the banker to this nation don't just say it shamelessly, mean it too.
iam not understand why SBI take intercity charges on depositing money. in india other banks not charges this charge.so please my request to SBI give me explanitation for that otherwise i open my account in other bank.
i am seriously warning SBI about INTERCITY CHARGES u may lose your valuable customers if you continue to do so. Its ridiculous that my friend deposited 350rs and sbi charged 25rs from it as INTERCITY CHARGES even though my home branch(L.B.nagar) and deposited branch(karmanghat) comes under same city Hyderabad .
http://www.business-standard.com/india/news/sbi-service-charges-set-to-pinch-dep...

see for more details a minimum charge of rs 25 and inter city charge of rs 2 for every 1000 rs...
its really ridiculous. i also shoked when sbi charged for it.
SBI Inter City Charge is really UNTRUE. Rollback this charge immediately. Even they are charging when depositing from its own branch. What is mean by "Saving" account type in SBI ?????????????. They charge Inter City Change in many ways, first they charge like service charge by asking for additional amount over the deposing amount in[protected]s. Second when there is a transaction from ATM, changes automatically deducted in[protected]s. Now finally they deduct the charge directly from the depositing amount without customer's knowledge in 2008s- till now.
Government shall promote other banks rather pvt. banks. SBI emplyees are very arrogant and hopeless. They are not utilizing there complete strength for customer due to volume. Let people help each other to close the banks or organisations who are not in the interest of people.
This rediculus...I made mistake by opening a/c in SBI ...better you don't open Saving A/c with SBI...this is not fair for middle class families ...Shame on SBI
Sbi has charged me service charges from Servicing branch and also from Home Branch on a deposit made in non home branch.

Hello SBI Authorities,

Why are you following this bad scheme_intercity charges. This scheme is not available in any other banks.

Due to this, I think I want to disclose my account. Very poor scheme in which seems to be cheating the customers. I deposited Rs.

4000/- in Chennai Anna Nagar West SBI today. You charged Rs.25/- as intercity charges. But my account is in Chennai Shastri Nagar

SBI. Now, I am staying with Choolaimedu. How can I deposit in Shastri Nagar SBI every time ? Think it is possible ? Many customers

make complaint. This is my first experience. Don't cheat your customers. We are losing our money without enjoying any benefits.
WHERE BOI HAVE NO INTER CITY CHARGE
BUT SBI CUT THIS CHARGE, PLZ TELL
WHAT IS WAY OF BEING EVERY INDIAN ARE BANKER OF SBI, BY GIVING A BIG AD ON PAPER.
Sir,

Is it worth to tax the customers in the present days when Bank transfers the money on just a click of mouse in his PC.
Hello friends,
This is not the SBI only who use to impose such charges on Non-home branches' transaction. I have similar experience with Bank of India, where, on deposit or withdrawal from non-hoem branches, the heavy charges are imposed and the charges are known to customer only after the transaction is effected. In today's era of high competition, such charges must be discontinued atleast for Savings Accounts. YOUR COMMENTS PLEASE? S K DUBE, INDORE
stop taking intercity charges otherwise i will witdraw my a/c
SBI Authorities to note:-Stop charging inter city charges for deposits made in non home branches. After all instead of the cashier in one branch, the cashier of other branch is collecting the cash. All remaining activities are same. Then what is the use of core banking/net banking/24X7 service.

today I got shock from SBI by this inter city charges, while I opened a fixed deposit from other branch. I told them to transfer money from saving account to FD. they have deducted inter city charges rs 150/- from my account but they havent informed me while opening FD that they will charge me this much amount if I will open fixed deposit from other branch. this is really rediculous to deduct money without informing a customer. this is not expected from a reputed bank like SBI. this is not case with ICICI bank. I can deposit money anywhere in this ICICI account they cant apply inter city charges for that. how the norms are changing for each bank :(

open your account in ICICI Bank / Bank of INDIA / UNION BANK OF INDIA
PANJAB NATIONAL BANK they are not charge for inter city or inter branch transaction
SBI has most ATM's & Branches in india.
what the rule????
if its a service charge then all banks why not follow this.
Really SBI hurt
It is a cheat to customers. SBI should stop and repay the charges back to the customers. Otherwise, it will loose it's Customers in future.
SBI has too many custumers so this is one way they are trying to lighten up their workload by losing customers i guess...lol. Good thing, good to know, will NEVER DEPOSIT in SBI EVER.
