[Resolved]  Sharekhan Ltd. — Complaint regarding trading account

Dear Sir,

I have online trading account with Sharekhan Ltd. having Customer Id No. 611527 since last 1 ½ years.

I would like to inform you that I bought 800 shares of DLF @ 251.48 per share on 14.05.09 and I sold the same from my DP on 15.05.09 @258.10 per share and after that I bought 270 shares of BOB and sold it on the same day. Now, on 19.05.09 when I checked my account it wasn’t showing anything in my account and was showing -2.36 Lacs (approx) and the other day i.e. on 20.05.09 it was showing -2.85 Lacs (approx) but you will surprise to know that my ledger was showing approximately 52, 256.

After calling and chasing several times to their staffs in Delhi as well as to your customer care department they told me that the DLF shares which I bought on 14.05.09 were not delivered to me and the shares which I sold on 15.05.09 were shortselled because I didn’t have shares with me and I had not bought those shares the same day so company auctioned the same @363.26 per shares and debited the amount to my account.

Now my questions against the above mentioned details are as follows:

1. Why I will pay for the thing which I haven’t done and the fault was from your side?

2. Why I didn’t face any kind of problems in the past; since 1½ years because I was doing exactly the same thing on those days also. I used to buy huge amount of shares (ex.[protected] comparing to these 800 and sell it on the other day. So why I didn’t face any problem like this time?

3. If I didn’t have those shares in my account how I sold it from DP and how I was able to buy 270 shares of BOB @ 343 because on that day my account was showing -11, 265.31 then how come I did all this inspite having any amount in my account.

4. When I didn’t have balance in my account how they allowed me to shortsell shares amounting to approx. 2.10 Lacs (because you already deducted the amount on 14.05.09 for buying 800 DLF shares) and after that to buy BOB shares amounting to 1 Lac, the total of which becomes more than 3 Lacs.

5. Why they didn’t inform me that the shares which I sold has been shortselled by there side because of non delivery of the previous day?

6. If they wanted to auction the shares why they did not do on 18th or 19th May’09 when the market price was not very high. Why they did it on 20th May when the price was on its higher level as of date?

7. They deliver the shares on T+2 days (as per their staff) then why they delivered my shares after 5 days on 22nd May’09?

8. Why they don’t give proper information to their customers while opening of new account about all this and about there hidden charges which they debit us without informing us?

9. On 26/05/09 I sold 800 DLF shares @356.25 which I bought it for 251.50 per share. That means I got profit of Rs.83800 (approx) and as per there record I shortselled 800 shares @258.10 and they auctioned it for 363.26 per shares that means they gave loss of Rs.84128 on that. The difference of which comes about Rs.328 and if I add brokerage and other charges it comes approximately Rs.2500/-. I had Rs.52, 256/- in my account and if they deduct the loss that is Rs.2500/-, the balance should be Rs.49756 but my account was showing only Rs.46, 600/-. Where is the balance?

10. Why their website is not showing digital contract after 15.05.09 where I can check the details. There is a contract of 20.05.09 but when I am clicking it, it shows “ NO RECORD FOUND”. Why is it so, why there is no record of what they have done; that means they have done fraud with my account.

11. Why there staffs and customer care executives gives different statements each and every time customer calls them and they even fail to provide details and tell procedure of there company about trading account?

12. Why they are not answering to my mails which I sent several times on [protected]@sharekhan.com and [protected]@sharekhan.com and also not replied to the fax which I sent on 22.05.09 to your head office in Mumbai on fax no.[protected].

This is really very embarrassing to know about such things and frauds they do with there customers. I request you to kindly look into the matter at the earliest because they are not replying to my queries. I want the reimbursement of the amount of Rs.85, 000/- (Approx) in my account which they have debited by auctioning the shares which I didn’t have and done. All that they have done is illegal and without any notice or information. So I request you to kindly take some necessary action against them and help me in this matter as soon as possible because I am facing lot of problems because of this.

dlf shares — not credited in my dp account

this in reference to your letter no.R/DLF/IPO/POOL/667 dt.13/11/2007 in that respect i have replied on 15/12 /2007 with a proof of my dp by attesting zerox copy of statement.
AS IT IS NEARLY A MONTH NO RESPONSE FROM YOUR SIDE FOR CREDIT OF 10 SHARES OF DLF , ALSO NOTE THAT 2 DIVIDEND THAT ARE DECLARED BU COMPANY HAVE NOT BEEN RECEIVED BY ME.

you dont know the procedure of the trading.that causes the problem, Brokerage homes has all the rights to sell the shares
in your Dp account with out your permission if the amount is not avilable in your account for (T+ 5 days)T-trading
please see my comments below:-

You have bought 800 shares of DLF @251.48 which costs 2, 01, 184. on 14.05.09. and sold the next day 15.05.09. here is the problem
if you buy the shares on intraday you can sell the same the day. which didnt cause any problem and i[censored] want to sell the shares
on the next day you can sell but the shares that didnt received from the exchange to broker. so those can be short sell which
causes aution and same will be debited to your account on T+5 days. It didnt happened on every time some cases it will happen
best thing is i[censored] buy the shares on the day you can sell those on T+2 days. which those can be settled and you can sell those
Some times shares cann't be shown on your Dp. which those cannt be received from the exchange to the broker. which that can be shown
in your DP On T+4 of T+5 day. since you have Purchased on Expousre you may get big losses.

when u short sold the shares 30% of your amount getting blocked and released after the settlement auction payout.
Due amount blocking or so. your account shows -ve and ledger is correct which u have seen.

1)you have to Pay for the thing which u have singed every thing to the broker which you take before the account. brokers have all the
rights for this.

2)when you sold the shares on the next day. if the enough buyers/sellers are available then it was ok. Some times these situvations
can be happened. we should be take a decission before selling the shares on the next day. because i[censored] think the share rate is
high and u sold in the next that may cause aution (not 100%). and share rate was settled @ hight price and settled on T+5 day
which anything can be happen if price is up u may get profit. if the price go down may be getting a huge loses. while duing expousre

3)share share u will buy will definetly show in ur Dp on the next day in the recivebale balence list. seeing after T+2 days it was
showing on DP balence List. some times it was not showing anything because those are not received from the exchange to the broker
that will shown after T+5 days. When u sell the share before settlement amount will be credited to ur account. which 30% will be
Blocked after credited to ur account when that was settled

4) You can sell those shares in your Dp. for selling you no need any amount form ur account. because u have already paid amt for buying
so selling there is no need of any money. for shotselling need a money. in Ur case u have sold ur shares but it was short sold.
its not 100% short for ur end. unforfunately it was shortsold.


5)They never informed u through Phone. and they informed when the aution was settled. that details will send to ur mailid. which
u given to the sharekhan.

6)The shares u have sold on 14 of may 14 is trading that will be settled on T+2 days. so ur shares are settled on 18 of may which
the price is at High. that was credited to ur account on T+5 day. so u are thinking that it was settled on 20 of may
it was settled on 18 of may.

7)some times shares cann't be delived from the exchnge to brokers on T+2 days. in such cases shares can be credited to the account
on T+% days Only.

8)Now a days they have lot of clients for them. they dont have such time to expain everything.

9) You have short sold the shares @258 and settled was 363 app. so diff is 105(105*800= 84000)+ there is a 3.5 rs brokerage for this
i hope u know the brokerage charges. u may get 3.5*800=2800 app extra to the bill= 86, 400. and u sold the shares @ 356
251 and 356 diff here u have the brokerage of rs 4. diff(105*800=84000)+ 4rs brokerage for this 800*4= 3200 app

total brokerage for all i included service tax and all(2800+3200=6000) then deduct thes charges for ur account. u may get the
correct. since u didnt get any profit for these shares u may get a loss for giving the brokerage charges and all.

10)digital contract will send to ur mail at the night of the trading day. this will be done if mail will not recived u may contact
the customer care of sharekhan. some mail provides may missing of the sharekhan mails. due to this they will tie up will

11)they didnt tell u each every tip. since they have lot of custmers. i[censored] have queries send a mail to [protected]@sharekhan.com


12)sometimes u query need lot of information they send to head office and may they missed.


there will be no illegal actions can be taking on the brokers. because u have singed every thing before u have taken the account
i[censored] buy shares today with an expousre and when the market was craking shares prices are going down. there will no margin in your account
brokers have 100% rights to sold out ur shares with out any antimation to u.. you can only be taken action them is if the
sufficient margin is available in ur account also if the shares can be sold with out any intimation to u. u may go to consumer court.

I have joined in Sharekhan - Alwarpet branch. I am totally dissatified with your Agent name called Mr.M. Kamaleshkumar
his mobile number is 91-[protected]. He too belongs to your Alwarpet branch. He is placing orders without my knowledge and
playing a lot with my money?.He is not sending any updates regarding the trade which was played with my money.
Even If we called him he is not responding his phone and also if he takes the phone after a long try, he says he is in meeting and
putting off the phone. Do you guys have meetings during trading hours? This is rediculus. 0% help from you guys, no SMS, no Phone
calls nothing from you guys.He simply aims for his brokerage. Not for customer satisfication.

I have to change my agent. I dont want this person and I need some other experienced person.
Since he is from sales side he does not know anything technically about trading also doesnot have any analysising skills.
I'm not sure how you guys allowed him for real-time trading? Totally he is waste fellow.

Till now he never inform me regarding saturdays online trading class which you guys are conducting.
Without proper guidance we are not able to get the knowledge about scrip name and their values.
Kindly do the needful as soon as possible by changing the agent with immediate effect.

i want to know my customer id no.i have contact hdfc phone banker on[protected] by phone,and i followed phone banker instruction .i used my debit card and pin no. to register my reqirement during phone banker conversation.final result is ,phone banker will contact shortly.but till date no reply,no follow up,no enqeiry from phone banker.i asked my customer id no for net banking purpose.please take nessasary action. I have been regularly receiving SMSs on my cell no [protected]..I am not interested in receiving such SMSs. I contacted your call center and requested them to discontinue sending such SMSs. They expressed their inability to help me. The SMSs are sent from cell no 6aa38125*lb. As an example i received an SMS regarding TATACHEM on the 14th. Appreciate a line in confirmation that necessary instructions have been issued to discontinue sending such SMSs.

I have sent a detailed leteer to your parry's branch which I reproduce here. Sharekhan is not closing my account even after many tries what could be the reason? I am planning to give a complaint to consumer forum.
I hold an account with your parry's branch and the client id is 306183, by the name K.Mahalakshmi. While I Have tried to close the account on two occasions, I have been told that my signature differs.I am a banker and staff Indian bank and am proud to say that my signature has not changed over the many years.Even recently my cheques have been presented by very many banks other than Indian bank and have not been returned.As I am very sure that my signature is accurate I fail to see why I am not allowed to close my account and also I need to know where from you have updated my signature.As you have not closed my account and I had intended to sell my shares through my erstwhile d matt holder Ind bank merchant banking services, I now suffer significant losses, which I will be claiming from your account.

While anyway I WILL BE closing your account I fail to see the logic behind extending the agony of myself and yourself by prolonging this procedure.I see some ulterior motive behind this move of yours.
Being a banker I am sending an attested copy of my signature which I hope will suffice or else I will be taking this issue very seriously.

I have never used Sharekhan account and they have sent me a bill in mail.This account was opened after persuasion of Sharekhan official and it was free of cost .What to do in this case ?

Subject: - Complain against ShareKhan and its employees Regarding Cheating, wrong commitment, misbehaviour and Mentally, Physically & Financially Harassment

Dear Sir / Madam,

In reference to the multiple mails sent to M/s Sharekhan with respect to wrong activities done by their members and other staff with their customers. At current point of time, the Sharekhan is only Looting money from its customer by unlawful means. At multiple requests of customers, they are not even responding positively, they are playing the game of exchanging mails only.

1. I, Rahul Kumar Jain having Demat account with Sharekhan, My Client ID is 470996, DP Account No. 15025075, DP ID - IN 300513. When my account was opened, I was told that only Rs. 500/- shall be levied one time i.e. at account opening, thereafter no charges shall be levied. However after opening of account, they only levied multiple charges and after many requests didn’t take back. I was also assured that your account shall be lifetime free and no AMC charges shall levy later on. However AMC charges were levied every year.

2. At multiple times, I mailed them and called to customer care to sort out this matter. However I always found myself helpless with these people. On 01.02.2011, 07:44 PM I got a mail from Sharekhan that they have credited my account by Rs. 500/- on their own and without informing me and they said that they are giving back this money in mutual understanding. However they did not give back AMC charged by them and they insisted that you (Rahul) selected this plan. However I never selected any this kind of option. It makes clear that they use unlawful means to make new customers and loot their money.

3. On the following dates I mailed to Sharekhan dated:[protected],[protected],[protected],[protected],[protected],[protected],[p... to request them to sort this matter but as always the result was nothing.

4. Dated 28.08.2013 I visited Sharekhan Barakhamba Road Branch, New Delhi and met with an executive and he intimated me that as per new SEBI guideline, if stock holding value is below Rs. 50000/- then no AMC shall be levied by Sharekhan or any other Share broker. Meanwhile fill up form so that in future no AMC shall levy in your account, till the time matter is not sorted out. I submitted the form on 29.08.2013 with Barakhamba Road Branch, New Delhi and receiving copy mail to Sharekhan for reference. (Enclosed copy for your reference)

5. Dated 13.05.2013 I got email in which AMC charges were levied by Sharekhan and didn’t consider the above submitted Letter with sharekhan branch.

6. I have come to your office finally after much exploitation by Sharekhan. I am unable to understand how to deal with Sharekhan and get my hard earned money back. No one is interested in responding positive replies/Suffering the customer’s problems. The Branch Manager is saying that your branch been changed and now we can do nothing. Apart of other Trading and brokerage charges, so far Rs. 1779.48/- has been deducted from my demat account and Rs. 980.58/- are due (Enclosed copy for your reference).

7. My First Branch was at Modal Town (New Delhi) and thereafter it was changed to Pitempura (New Delhi) on their own without taking my permission or intimating me. No branch is listening me. They leave phone on hold and no one speaks.

Please raise my voice against the Sharekhan and its staff member for looting my money.

You are my last hope from which I have expectations.

You are requested to take action in this regard so wrong activities done by Sharekhan can be stopped and many other customer of Sharekhan may be saved before they are looted.

Sharekhan is not bound to make client profit. Their main target open demat account with big amount of margin. Earn brokerage through it. They don't care about your money. Every new client has only 4 months validation. After four months they just try to maintain profile. They using some Trade tiger software. It's not totally reliable. So be careful when you going to invest your amount in Sharekhan Ltd. If you live in kolkata then never go for Sharekhan Ultanga Branch, Kolkata. All cheaters sit over there. Good luck.

What to do?

Hi,

Last month I have opened an Equity account.After some time I come to know that my intraday brokerage was 0.1 and Delivery brokerage was 0.5.Then I spoken to my broker (Ganesh) and ask him to change them to 0.5 and 0.25 then he told to make tha cash balance more than 6000.

I did same what he told and my account was deducted by 6000 Rs.Then I spoken to customer care and he told that my plan has been changed and AMC 6000 was activated.I never requested to activate AMC 6000 but I don't know how they activated without my interference or my permission.

I just want to know why and how my broker activated AMC 6000 and If he wante to activate then why he dint explain this scheme .

Dear Sir,
Today I have gone in your office at Boisar, Palghar, Maharashtra to submit the signed L&T INFOTECH IPO application.
Your office staff Mr. Dinesh was very rude and adamant. He was behaving very roughly and was telling “your application would be thrown into dustbin whatever you could do.”
If this type of staff will be kept we will close our DMAT account and shift our holdings into another service provider.
