Spice Jet Airlines — Cancellation of Flight ticket

I have booked a ticket for myself and a friend through spicejet for 25 Feb 2012, BLR-Ahmedabad, under defense promo offer. I am unable to travel on the said dates, when i called to cancel only my ticket their customer service says that ticket can't be cancelled for me as i had booked under promo offer and there is nothing they can do. This is completely against government guidelines which make all tickets refundable, even those brought under promos. I had booked return journey ticket through indigo under defense discount and they cancelled the ticket and refunded the money. So , i would like to advise people against booking though spicejet under any promo offer to think hundred times before booking. And in future atleast i wont be taking any spicejet flights although it was my preferred carrier. Now my opinion has changed and will recommend all my friend in defense against travelling through spicejet.
